The Truth About Ariana Grande & Objectification

Lauren SouthernArchive

Singer Ariana Grande recently went on a tirade online complaining about the problems with objectification and sexualization of women.

Considering Grande sings, dances and promotes sexualization in everything she does, is this really a fair complaint for her to make?

Or is she a part of the problem?

You wear a paper hat at McDonalds and you will get some orders.
Gotta love these tarts who are only rich and famous because of how they look complain when they are objectified.

Just another way to man bash. Stimulate what is an inevitable brain response and then blame them for it, AGAIN!

Well said Lauren.
You can thank Madonna for the exploitation of women in the field of, if you want to call it ‘music’.
Keith Urban asked one of the contestants on the American Idol if they knew what the lyrics of the song they just sang meant. They did not. He counseled them to know what they are singing [about] so it doesn’t affect their image.

Good one Sherri. Take a look at some of her pictures and I hate being crude, but you can see camel toes. She goes to a lot of effort to display herself as an object all be herself, unless she is saying she is forced into dancing on stage as a slut.

Lauren, that was awesome! You are seriously just getting better and better (probably why I married an older woman, way more to give). I suggest you get Gavin to comment on this topic though, i’m 6’2 with blue eyes and played hockey and high school football and likely haven’t dogged a quarter of the chicks (yes I said chicks) as that punk rock, drowned rat has.

Grande is the same little skank who licked all the donuts or spit on them or something a couple of years ago, and it was all over you tube or somewhere. She was at Crispy Cream or some other donut shop. Point is It was SO adult of her, now she feels it necessary to preach on this. Another air headed self proclaimed star with twit stamped on her whoreish forhead.

So I was thinking the other day (I do that on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, typically) that – and I’m generalizing a bit here – liberal and progressive attitudes are so at odds with reality sometimes (gender fluidity, the don’t judge/objectify me when I wear a KKK outfit or flit around the stage in my undies kind of thing that Lauren touched on) that these kinds of attitudes must be so hard to maintain in practice, in day to day life, and require a lot of energy and mental gymnastics on the part of the progressive person. Whereas conservatism (and there are so many flavors but they all have this in common, I think) deals with reality as it is encountered and understood: when new information arrives, strategies and paradigms need updating to fit the information – not the other way around. So it’s a more successful way of looking at and modeling the world than liberalism, since it’s practical.

The question then, what gives? Why the seemingly wide appeal of progressive and liberal attitudes? Well, mental gymnastics aside, my guess is it’s because they’re comforting – often silly idealizations of reality that have little to do with reality – but also because dealing directly with reality, thinking for oneself and formulating independent attitudes, is oh so hard, and too much bother for many. I really can’t see any other advantages, other than the fact that progressive social group reinforces its standards on its adherents: they only associate with those in the group and demonize those who stray from it. Even conservatives do this but are much less prone to it than liberals because of the nature of the beast: we favor independence and free speech, as a general rule of thumb. Progressives do not.

Anyway, enough incoherent ranting for today ;) Incidentally, didn’t Lauren with the flowers in her hair and the (not pencil thin) eyebrows look spookily like something from out of the 1960s? Kind of creepy, actually ….

Oh Muffin…that’s the price you pay for being an overpaid stripper and stage whore
