(FLASHBACK) The war on St. Patrick's Day?

David MenziesMission Specialist

(NOTE: Originally reported March 17, 2015) First they came for Christmas -- and now there's a war on St Patrick's Day.

One busybody wants to rename it "O'Green Day" to make the holiday more "inclusive."

David Menzies took to the streets of Toronto to see if he could find anyone who thought that was a good idea.

- I still remember when St Pattie’s day was celebrated by a few of the loyal sons of the the emerald isle, indulging in a few drams of fine single malt fortitude then paying a visit to the profane grounds of the local Orange lodge and ventilating it with some granite projectiles – or staging an impromptu boxing lesson with the sheilas at the Orangeman’s athletic club – Oh those were glorious days in the Dominion.

The politically correct can’t leave anything alone.

No re-branding needed!

Menzies! Good to see ya bud!

If you can’t wear green be green with envy and you can quote me on that off the record.

This is one of those moments where I hope and pray Menzies (peace be upon him) is pranking us to make us aware of how gullible we are in swallowing everything we read or hear. I mean who would want to take a massive dump on St. Patrick’s day? Who for real feels so disenfranchised that they might form a revolt or join some foreign band of loonies (peace be upon them) and visit unspeakable atrocities upon mankind or womankind for that matter?

Great – let’s make it all open.
During the Pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, open 12 Irish pubs selling booze and food that is served by Ireland’s finest busty women.
Let’s make it all the same out there. Pint of beer and fries for you allah?

Anyone who has a problem with St Patrick’s Day can kiss my ass.

When Moslems celebrate the “Mouled AnNabi” the Prophet Mohamed’s Birthday, I’d like to see those politically correct genii (or geniuses) try to have it renamed to something else.

What, no more trees to hug?

Good to see you back David. It looks like the old Sun team is getting back together.
The Rebel is getting better and better every day.

I am Irish. St. Patrick’s Day is ours. Invent a “Citizens’ Day” if you feel left out. Leave St. Patrick be! (These are not really “politically correct” notions. These are simply means to get attention and get some people riled up. Next year ignore the type.)

Not inclusive? Why do you want to be part of something you don’t believe? Thanks David for standing up for us.

God save us from the politically correct…

I missed Menzies and his unique perspectives on life and stuff. Loved the O’green Day song reference and anyone who really buys into O’green day is going to be singing I walk alone.

I’ll just get way ahead of myself and wish everyone a Merry Christmas !

All the more reason to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The politically correct crowd can just go pound sand.

Good to see you, Menzoid. What is the deal with Human Achievement Day this year – at your place again?

On March 17, 2015 CBC News ran a piece headlined “St. Patrick’s Day tradition made in U.S., not Ireland”. This is a falsehood but that’s what we’ve come to expect from the Crappy Broadcast Corporation that all Canadian taxpayers are forced to subsidize.

The Menzoid will stir the left up and welcome back.

O’Green Day? Leaves out a vast spectrum of colours! Besidee, everyone is Irish on St Patrick’s Day. Leave our culture alone. Please. And yes, we do have a culture.
commented 2015-03-18 02:17:27 -0400
O Green Day… Orange Black Day… on our way to the Rainbow Coalition Day. Welcome David. Stay a while!
commented 2015-03-18 02:15:12 -0400
I think O’Green Day discriminates against people who are color blind, or people who prefer red, brown yellow, purple, blue, etc. How dare she exclude those people!!!!!

So glad to see Menzoid on TR.M. O’Happy Day!
