Will you give us the tools, so we can finish the job?

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

UPDATE: We have a new strrrrrrretch goal!

Please donate to help The Rebel buy four camera kits — an HD camera, tripod, lights, and a low-cost iPad teleprompter. Each of these kits costs $5,000 and we will ship them to reporters or commentators anywhere in the world.

I’ve got a big plan that I’ve been working on for a year now, and I’m ready to tell you about it. Because I want to ask you if you agree with my big plan, and if you want to help me do it.

The big plan is to take our channel, TheRebel.media, and turn it into the largest, most influential news media outlet in Canada.

When I say big, I mean big in viewership and readership, a big audience, having a big impact. I want us to become a leading source of news and opinion – to tell people the other side of the story.

The big plan is to do what we’re doing – but double it, and double that again – have as many Canadians getting their political news from us as from anyone else.

Last year, we crowdfunded our studio – a small room in the middle of our office, with sound-absorbing foam, and a green screen onto which the computer projects different backgrounds. That was a big expense for us – $80,000.

But now, we need a bigger office. We’ve paid almost no rent at our current location – but it’s way too small. So, we need a new office. And we need a new studio. And we need new equipment for the studio – a new control panel, new cameras and lights.

We need all of these tools. Each tool is a few thousand dollars – some are a few hundred, the biggest is $30,000. There are 68 tools, 68 things we need to reach our goal. And taken all together, I really think they’re the building blocks of the big plan.

We're so grateful for your support. The Rebel has only gotten this far because of your help, encouragement, and generosity. Thank you once again for helping us grow!

You can also donate by cheque to help complete the big plan.

Please make it payable to "TheRebel" and send it to:

The Rebel
PO Box 73536, Wychwood PO

And don't forget to put "Big Plan" in the memo section!

Thank you for your continued support!

Great job Ezra been with you from the start I’m going to kick in
I think people just want the truth with no bullshit

I all so like the Idea of both sides of the story
we live in a world where the truth has to be exposed you need to explore
both sides for that and crowd funding is the only way to trust our sources
you folks keep up the great work and good luck

Jaroslav Ovtsyn,

You are absolutely right. Ezra hasn’t figured out yet that it’s debate that will get him the eyeballs that he wants. A conservative circle jerk website is only going to go so far, which is the exact reason why the traffic here has stagnated per Alexa.

Peter Netterville,

Ever hear of the BBC? It’s the same thing with CBC. You weren’t born yesterday – despite your idiotic comments that confirm otherwise.

You don’t have to like it or support it just like some people support road tolls and some people don’t support road tolls, but you know very well why was the CBC was created, why it is exists and why even Harper supported it.

Don’t be disingenuous.
commented 2016-12-05 21:50:40 -0500
Ezra, I think you’ll beat the CBC and alike when you start inviting people with opposite points of view to your shows. Right now, they remind me of the left-wing echo chambers.

I wanna hear a debate! Not just two conservatives agreeing with each other.
commented 2016-12-05 20:05:45 -0500
Of course, Ezra asking his viewers to voluntarily crowd source to see news content and opinion commentaries is wrong in the leftie’s mind, but it is okay with those same lefties that the CBC asks for a billion and a half forcibly taken from unwilling tax payers.

Yup, the screwed up logic from hypocrite leftie world.

Why does Ezra asking for money bother you so very much?

Paypal is the corporation that bullied the legislature of North Carolina about the “transgender bathroom” issue. There is a way to respond to their scheme through their business and I think the Rebel should find another way to raise money in order to “bully the bully”, don’t you think??

It turns out that I am not obligated to give money. I can see all sorts of videos on you tube for free. The rebel is no different, so therefore, I am not forking over any money.

How many you tube channels ask you for money?

Harley Logan,

So in other words, you just want The Rebel to tell you things that you already agree with.

Jimmy Reece, you ask me why the Rebel doesn’t have a liberal on staff. I can not say if they do or they don’t I’m not privy to such info. What I do know is that in Canada there is already enough liberal socialist based media to go around. I am conservative . I look at my country through a conservative prism and what I see is the country is being led down a socialist path by the current political left governments. We need alternate , right wing media to get their message out, the other side of the story, and let the masses decide. I don’t want to see a Rebel “debating contest” media. I want a Canadian media that mirrors my views and reports subjects and opinions that interest me. Jimmy lets face it, I could get all political but I’ll just say this , the left is left and the right is right ideologies completely opposite. The pendulum swings left then right and only one ideology prevails at a time.

As soon as I watched this video, I chipped in what I could for the Big Plan. Why? Because I find The Rebel’s reporting on SJW’s, Muslims, Trump, etc., to be more realistic and representative of what’s actually happening than the MSM’s.

CBC and other stations would have everyone believe that it’s all just one big love-in with these groups of people and if you don’t agree with their take on the news, you’re a racist, a bigot, a whatever. I know from personal experience that SJW’s, Muslims and any other Leftists, that they can be nasty, unscrupulous people when they want to be. CBC is just selling pie-in-the-sky with their reporting.

CBC reports from all over the world on just about anything, but they won’t even tell you the chaos that the so-called “Syrian migrants” are causing in Europe. They’d lead us all like lambs to the slaughter.

The Rebel’s was the only reporting that I saw that didn’t discount Trump’s run for office and he could well be the best thing that’s happened to America in quite some time.

While CBC reports from behind rose-coloured socialist glasses, The Rebel gives you the real news. It might not be pretty, but it’s real news.

I’d rather know what’s really happening than to get some whitewashed, spun story about what the socialists wish were happening.
commented 2016-12-04 17:06:05 -0500
Harley Logan,

Why doesn’t The Rebel have a liberal on staff. They complain about the MSM and how it’s all liberal and the response to that is to be an extreme conservative media source?

Seems to me that The Rebel would be making more of a statement if they were actually fair and balanced – report things from a right AND left perspective and let us decide.

It’s hypocritical to complain about liberal media sources and be the exact same thing – only with a conservative spin instead.

The Rebel is part of the problem in media – they are not the solution.
commented 2016-12-04 15:45:14 -0500
Great work from The Rebel! I really hope that you guys keep up the rallies, billboards, and issue campaigns against liberals and leftists, whether it is on a municipal (NENSHI), provincial (Wynne and Notley) or Federal (Trudeau) level. Shelia Gunn Reid has a lot of courage and strength going after those socialists in the legislature, and she stepped it one step further with the U.N coverage. I hope The Rebel gets a chance to host a Conservative Leadership Debate, and I sincerely hope that Conservative MP’s, from Rempel to Ambrose to Leitch to Berneir support your grassroots fiscally conservative movement. We need to support The Rebel with our time and money, especially those of us in Ontario and Alberta – we have to elect Jason Kenney in Alberta (and defend him against the barrage of attacks from liberal media) and destroy Wynne in Ontario. Love the effort by The Rebel. Give them a couple of years, and they’ll have over 2 million subscribers on YouTube and hundreds of thousands of premium content subscribers.

Why don’t all you naysayers, wet blankets lighten up ? This is a building/expansion project . A crowd funder to build a better right wing media for Canadians to hear both sides of issues . Not the time to be harping on perceived injuries or insults but to be looking at the big picture. Peter and jimmy, really , if you are so unhappy at this site maybe you should be listening to the Liberal propaganda arm the CBC, after all you are funding them 365.

Again, let’s put things into proper perspective and what Ezra isn’t telling you.

Remember when Ezra bragged about beating Macleans and their internet traffic. Well that lasted for about a second and Macleans and every other media source in Canada has been killing The Rebel.

Then there is most popular media source in Canada:

commented 2016-12-04 14:01:28 -0500
C’mon trolls, pony up! I have done so since the beginning through automatic monthly PayPal contributions, more than twice the amount asked for the “premium” content. I did it to get alternative viewpoints from the drivel peddled by the Lugenpresse! If you want to continue your spew, pay up or go away!
commented 2016-12-04 13:00:06 -0500
I will contribute as soon as the Rebel does one expose’ piece on who really wields power in Canada – the Desmarais family and their Power Corporation of Canada. Who put into the PM’s office: P.E. Trudeau (stopped BoC from printing our currency without interest, gave the finger to the people and enacted martial law on a whim, NEP that killed AB the first time), Mulroney (sold all of Canada’s gold at bottom market prices, signed NAFTA and gave away control of our resources), Chretien (all around criminal and mob boss who made mockery of gov’t for the people), Martin (was fortunately outed before he was able to do too much damage and sign Canada’s sovereignty away in global treaties), Justin (finishing the job of opening Canada’s borders, destroying the economy, burying us in debt and sacrificing national sovereignty on the alter of carbon/climate treaties, TPP, TPIP treaties and funding unelected technocrats in the U.N. with Canadian taxpayers’ money taken by force.

When will the Rebel get to the heart of the matter and start focusing on the real power in Canada – starting with the Desmarais family. Or is the Rebel just filling the alternative media space so before a real truth in media group can get off the ground?

So us who you really are. Get hardcore or get out of the way.
commented 2016-12-04 10:01:58 -0500
Anonymous , it is correct to say “you do not know what you are talking about” and I will add to that, you must be either blind , completely ignorant or a SJW Troll. If you will notice you see few corporate sponsors displayed on Rebel pages . MSM depend on corporate funds . To remain independent and truthful to their members and donors Rebel, who have operating expenses, depend on us to support them financially. In return the Rebel provide us with one of the few media outlets in Canada that are not infected with socialist political correct garbage. You mentioned previously that there is no room in Canada for Rebel and it should focus on Europe. Europe is lost, Rebel is Canadian , this is Canada and this is where it’s needed ,offsetting the left MSM especially the Liberal Propaganda Division, the CBC.
commented 2016-12-04 02:31:13 -0500
As a matter of a fact, I do know what I am talking about. Just look at all the times that Ezra has asked for money. Every trip the rebel has needed for. Ohio, United Nations, Paris, Germany, the list goes on. What about all the money that Ezra asked for billboards, lawn signs, studio equipment, legal fees, and other donations?

Mark my words. This will not be the last time Ezra asks for money. I will be surprised if it is even the last time this year.
commented 2016-12-03 23:54:11 -0500
I’m rooting for this so much. I’ll keep watching daily and contribute as I can. I maxed out on contributing this year to the Rebels UN coverage, but I plan to give next year. I’d be a 10,000 dollar contributor if I was a public sector employee but proudly I work for the Public sector and contribute to society rather than earning a living from it. I have no health benefits, company pension or life benefits and earn less than 50 k a year. Don’t get me wrong I love our teachers, health care workers and some of our government paid friends working for us, its just that in the private sector I am not showered with perks and yearly raises. I’m hoping that this year I can start contributing to a RRSP (its been 10 years since I have) but I won’t be able to If a carbon tax is brought in by Trudeau. His tax on everything will cancel out any raises I get over the next few years. The Rebel fights my fight against the carbon tax. It fights for our collective prosperity in debunking climate hysteria. It exposes leftist fascism for what it is and stands up to those who would let us be as free we can be and to do as we please as respectful, decent upstanding citizens who care about the wellbeing of our fellow Canadians and free thinkers around the world. I implore anyone who can afford it to give to this great cause. We have gained a split in the amour of political correctness and the rule of leftist who are taxing us to death. Act now to resist.
A Rebel Forever!

Mr. Anonymous, quit your belly aching already!!! Complainers, critics and people who shoot others in the back with their slur’s and never sign there names are cowards!!!

Pay no attention to this guy because he doesn’t know what he is talking about.

Ezra, you and your team are doing an excellent job by giving us the other side of the story. Your team is pulling back the veil on the Left Sided Media that have been lying to us for years as they twist and misconstrue the news stories. Edmund Burke said it best when he said, “The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing.” Here is our opportunity to do what is right. Support Ezra and his team generously and you will make a difference in Canada as well as around the world in the coming days, months and years.

Ezra isn’t greedy. He is broke. Possibly in the hole. That is why he has to ask us for money all the time.

The Canadian market is too small to support a conservative Canadian based news channel. If I was wrong, then Ezra would not have to ask us for money all the time.

Bottom line is, people can get all sorts of news on the internet for free. Why should anybody want to pay, when there are so many options available out there.

Ezra needs to rethink his business model. It is only a matter of time before his viewers are sick of donating money to him.

I’m not ready to support the plan. The only articles I read and appreciate are from Brian Lilley. I frankly don’t care about social issue articles, only those that have political impact on my life, and Lilley does that well. I wonder if he has ever considered running for the Conservative leadership. At least he might get a makeup desk to look good on camera.

@george Schroh
Conservative and right wing media is so diverse in the news and entertainment they offer, BECAUSE of how fractured they are. It’s what enables multiple opinions, and theories to thrive, as opposed to a few centralized opinions “approved” by the mainstream media. In fact, I’m concerned this might be lost, as conservative views gain popularity and unify. In my opinion, it is partly was has caused liberal media and support bases to undermine themselves. Their “solidarity” in how they conduct themselves, has led to them lacking any introspection and self-criticism whatsoever, and has led them to making very serious mistakes and spreading misinformation, with near impunity from their peers criticizing them for it “because they’re all on the same side”, or “part of the same family” (if you prefer to think of it that way).
commented 2016-12-03 05:04:56 -0500
Ezra, I have questions before I give. I need to know if this will result in just more/better paid content or will it enhance the unpaid content/access on the site? Secondly, I at times wonder if the rebel censors it links/content as some content you post is a day or two late from Breitbart, Daily Mail, Daily Caller, etc. So will this donation help expedite the content to Canadian news or does it just make it just make it look more professional?

Third question as a side note and probably not understanding the economics of conservative news. Why doesn’t the Rebel just merge with a well established global brand like Breitbart Canada or the Daily Wire Canada? As a consumer of conservative news should someone have to go to 6 different sites to get what CNN or CBC is offering? Milo or Ben are heavy hitting guys and personally I find conservative news so fractured and capitalistic that as a consumer you are offered a good choice if you visit six or more sites. Have you or will you combine the success of the Rebel with other conservative groups?
