I returned to Richmond Hill city council to follow up on last week's story. As you may recall, the council's lawyers advised them not to sing "O Canada" at their meetings because the word "God" in the lyrics might violate a recent Supreme Court decision, banning prayer from such municipal meetings.
TheRebel.media sponsored a survey of local residents and it showed that nearly 2/3 of them want the anthem sung, in defiance of this latest example of political correctness gone insane.
As you can imagine, Richmond Hill city council is feeling the heat from the media, residents and other Canadians.
I went to their most recent meeting to see for myself.
One highlight was local citizen Randy Taylor's address to the council as a concerned member of the public. It was pretty impressive!
This matter isn't resolved yet. I promise to keep you updated.
(PS: Don't miss what one councilor did at the start of the meeting...)
