Time to regulate? Ontario’s unions “buying” elections, outspending political parties

Brian LilleyArchive

Ontario’s labour movement and public sector unions have been quietly buying up elections  for a long time and so far, it has worked for them.

But now we have a better idea of the full extent of their spending in elections in order to get their preferred leaders into office, and it’s shocking.

Watch as I show you how much unions have spent and let me know if you agree that it’s time to reign them in.

Question if unions are so bad why do corporations spend billions a year trying to remove them? Or is it just corporations the unions fighting with for the people. The Alberta Ndp made it illegal for unions and corporations to donated to political parties…better than anything the cons ever did right there for the people.

The Rand formula makes all workers pay into a union and gives the Union bosses big bucks to play activist with. Simply amend the formula so money collected by required dues must be used for core union activities only. Organizing, meetings, strike pay etc – those activities directly related to the business of unions. Make all other activities subject to voluntary contributions only, if they want money for political activity there is a checkoff box. Union activities are tax free and activist voluntary deductions are subject to tax. Make any misuse subject to a stiff fine and a mininum five year ban from union activities to keep them honest.

Why is this money not taxed if it used this way? If ,say ,a church did this , the left would be all in an uproar about their tax free status. These corrupt pigs will learn the hard way just like the unions in Detroit did.

The unions played a major role in electing Trudeau, Notley & Wynnbag & it’s a bloody shame that those members who are Conservative & who pay dues have no say in how that money is spent. They’re just like the gov’t who keep taking your hard earned money through taxes & then they spend it the way they want, like it or not.

Left wing governments bribe public sector unions for votes and the same unions blackmail all governments for higher wages/benefits. Fiscally conservative governments want smaller government and more money back in the pockets of taxpayers. This leads to a balanced budget and a growing economy. While 100,000 + private sector jobs have been lost in AB, Notley has added 50,000 vote friendly public sector jobs and still counting. The obvious end result will be financial ruin as in Ont. but still gives the left wing governments the advantage which increases in proportion to its size. Who doesn’t want a sweet paying slacker job on the public dime? Somehow this has to be fixed.

Unions should be banned from having anything to do with politics and it should also be made illegal for them to contribute money, to any Political Party.

Any corporation that becomes a monopoly also becomes heavily regulated by government. Whereas there are many industry-spanning unions like Unifor and CUPE, but zero anti-abusive-monopoly regulations are applied to them.

Did the same thing not happen in the last federal election? Where are those numbers?
Politics in Canada has taken a severe nose dive. Elections now mirror those of third world countries, more and more corruption is followed by more and more corruption. Politicians don’t care about anything but winning.
The days when a politician was concerned for the people he or she represented and therefore looked after their collective wants and desires have gone by the wayside. Today its ‘elect me’, elect me’ and then look out for number one after being elected. If they truly cared about their constituents then we would not see the unions – all of them – gain so much power.
After all does one really think that the likes of Wynne, Notely and the shirtless wonder Justin Mohamed Trudeau did not know that the unions were corrupting the elections in their favor? They not only knew but encouraged it by promising all kinds of under the table benefits, no doubt.
Most – not all – but a large majority of politicians are corrupt and therefore when elected they run corrupt governments.
Mr. Shirtless wonder, the great Justin Mohamed Trudeau is by far the best of them all. He is taking corruption to bright new levels. Just look at his personal spending to-date.

Regulate might be the wrong word. Just don’t allow unions to fund political parties. It’s just common sense that’s not so common.

I am to believe that, since 100% of campaign funds go to support one political party (either Liberal or NDP), then there is not one employee in unions that number over a million members who is conservative and votes PC? Whatever happened to the idea that union members would have their union dues directed to the party of their choice?

yeah good luck with that one. no on one can touch the unions
commented 2016-08-10 19:20:35 -0400
Of course the unions elect the socialist friendly parties who will cave to their ridiculous demands!
