I’ve been covering Tommy Robinson’s political campaign for a week, running from event to event with him across the UK, as he runs to become an independent MEP in the European Parliament. I finally had a chance to sit down with him for an hour, in a car as we drove to the next campaign event.
We covered Tommy’s thoughts on the latest left-wing tactic of throwing milkshakes at politicians; why and when Tommy decided to run for office; Tommy’s biggest regret (and favourite part) of the campaign; how police have (mis)treated him; why he thinks working class Brits should become politically active, and what his main focus will be, if he wins the election.
It’s a serious interview, but we have a few laughs, too.
I hope a lot of people watch this interview with Tommy — because it’s a different side to him than is portrayed by the mainstream media.
I’ll be here in Manchester until the final results of the EU Parliament elections are announced next week.
I’d like to thank everyone who is contributing to covering the costs of my reporting — including my personal bodyguard — I’m sure glad he was there when those Muslim extremists threw rocks at us in Oldham on the weekend.
