1. Kindergarten dresses children as jihadis for parade in Indonesia
A kindergarten in Indonesia has been criticised for dressing girls up in black, Isis-style costumes and replica rifles for an independence day parade, with organisers forced to apologise for the embarrassing gaffe.
Photos of the “cultural” parade held in the city of Probolinggo, east Java, on Saturday showed lines of young girls marching on the street wearing niqab-style black veils, carrying cardboard cutouts of guns.

2. “Black-clad” Individuals Set Populist Sweden Democrats Election Kiosk On Fire
A number of unidentified “black-clad” individuals are said to have burned down an election tent kiosk belonging to the populist Sweden Democrats party in the city of Gothenburg.
Police say they believe around ten individuals were involved in the attack with Peter Adlersson of the Western Regional Police saying a preliminary investigation into the incident has been initiated, Swedish broadcaster SVT reports.
“There were several tents there and there was a great risk of spreading to the tents as well,” Aldersson added.
The president of the Sweden Democrats in Gothenburg, Jörgen Fogelklou, condemned the attack, saying: “It’s complete idiocy. They have put people’s lives and health at stake.”
“They are completely confused if they think the destruction of this material will make us quiet. The great cost will be paid to Gothenburg taxpayers. We have borrowed this tent from the city of Gothenburg,” Fogelklou continued, adding: “it was no ordinary tent, it was huge with electricity and a floor.”

6. HMP Birmingham, England's worst prison, taken over by Government after inmates “seized control”
England’s worst prison will be taken over by the Government after a damning inspection found that violent inmates have effectively seized control of the jail.
HMP Birmingham is becoming the first privately-run prison to be taken over by the Government on Monday after it emerged that “fearful” staff have taken to locking themselves in their own offices after being targeted by inmates.
The Victorian prison, which was being run by G4S, will be run by the Government for up to 12 months with a new Governor and management team installed. Ministers said that G4S, rather than the taxpayer, will foot the bill.
7. Lars Hedegaard: Denmark as a Model for American Socialists?
First of all, Danes actually pay for their brand of socialism through heavy taxation. In Denmark, everyone pays at least the 25% value-added tax (VAT) on all purchases. Income tax rates are high. If you receive public support and are of working age and healthy enough to work, the state will require that you look for a job or it will force a job on you.
The willingness of all the Danes to pay high taxes is predicated on the country's high degree of homogeneity and level of citizens' trust in each other, what sociologists call “social capital.” By and large, Danes do not mind paying into the welfare state because they know that the money will go to other Danes like themselves, who share their values and because they can easily imagine themselves to be in need of help -- as most of them, from time to time, will be.

The militants ransacked and looted the village for two hours before leaving, witnesses added.
The Boko Haram jihadist group has carried out numerous attacks in Borno state.
Militia leader Babakura Kolo told AFP news agency that the militants had arrived in trucks late on Saturday, firing guns and rocket-propelled grenades.

10. “Allahu Akbar!”: Knife-Man Shot Dead After Attacking Spanish Police
An Algerian migrant male was shot dead early Monday morning by Spanish police after he attempted to attack officers with a knife.
A female police officer fired on and killed the 29-year-old man outside the police station in Cornellà de Llobregat in Catalonia, Spain, the Catalan edition of elPeriodico reports. Besides the slain attacker, there were no reported injuries.
The man, who has been named by local media as Algerian-origin Spanish resident Abdelouahab Taib, attempted to gain access to the station at 05:52 Monday morning, claiming he wanted to make an inquiry. Once inside, he drew a large a knife and shouted “Allahu Akbar” [Allah is the Greatest] — the familiar Islamic phrase which has increasingly come to be associated with the opening stages of terror attacks across Europe in recent years.
He was shot in the reception area of the station by one of the officers present. An ambulance was brought to the scene but the Algerian male subsequently died of his wounds.
