1. Ramadan Rage: Jihadists Kill 41, Injure 102 in First 4 Days
Islamic terrorists have massacred at least 41 people and injured 102 in the first four days of the holiest month for Muslims, Ramadan, a time when some adherents of Islam believe jihad and martyrdom to be especially heroic and rewarded in paradise.
This year, Muslim leaders declared Thursday to be the start of the holy month, when most Muslims abide by Ramadan’s fasting tradition: abstaining from eating, drinking, smoking, having sex, and other physical needs each day, starting from before the break of dawn until sunset.
The various calls for jihadist groups to halt their campaign of terror has fallen on deaf ears, particularly in Afghanistan, home to the majority of attacks.

A mother who forced her daughter to marry a relative almost twice her age has been convicted in the first successful prosecution in England.
The woman duped the 18-year-old into travelling to Pakistan to wed the man, who was 16 years her senior.
Years before the ceremony, the girl was entered into a "marriage contract" with the man and became pregnant aged 13.
A jury at Birmingham Crown Court found the mother guilty of two counts of forced marriage.

4. Germany: Asylum Seekers Should Be Trained as Truck Drivers
A pilot project in Germany is working to make it easier for asylum seekers to become truck drivers – an initiative that comes amid widespread unemployment for migrants who arrived during the migrant crisis.
The German Red Cross and the Logistics Organisation want to alleviate the shortage of drivers in the state of Schleswig-Holstein with targeted recruiting of asylum seekers, in moves that have been praised as “imaginative and praiseworthy” by regional Economics Minister Bernd Buchholz, reports Kieler Nachrichten.
A similar nation-wide programme of hiring asylum seekers and refugees as truck drivers was pushed by German Chancellor Angela Merkel after she opened Europe’s borders to over one million Middle Eastern and African migrants in 2015, the vast majority of whom are unskilled.

9. Islamic State attack kills scores near Palmyra in eastern Syria
At least 30 Syrian army troops and Iranian-backed militiamen were killed on Tuesday when Islamic State (IS) group militants attacked a military outpost near Palmyra in eastern Syria, a monitor and residents from the area said.
They said the militants used suicide bombers and armoured vehicles in the dawn attack near a dam southeast of the ancient Roman city.
The attack came a day after government forces drove the militants out of their last enclave in southern Damascus after weeks of relentless bombing.
IS has twice seized Palmyra during Syria's civil war and destroyed priceless artefacts.
A former resident from the eastern Homs countryside near Palmyra, who is in touch with local people, said the militants had come from hideouts in the vast stretch of desert they once controlled. He said at least 30 soldiers and militiamen were killed.
In recent months, the militants have stepped up hit-and-run attacks in an area whose terrain makes it difficult for the army to secure, relying on ambushes to replenish their weapons and equipment, activists say.
10. German Antifa Far-Left Extremists Release “Riot Tourist” Instructional Terror Handbook
German alt-left Antifa extremists have released a new instructional booklet ahead of the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) conference in Augsburg which teaches and encourages “riot tourists” to burn cars, attack war memorials, and target political party offices.
The 44-page booklet was posted to the notorious Indymedia web platform that previously hosted the now-banned Linksunten website, which also posted tutorials on sabotage and other acts of terror and violence following last year’s riots at the G2o meeting in Hamburg.
Within the booklet, titled “Augsburg for Riot Tourists”, and on an external blog site mirroring the guide that features the Antifa logo, the far-left extremist group states: “We are calling for a revolt against the German collective on the occasion of the AfD party conference in Augsburg.”
