1. Iranian Spies Arrested on US Soil Were Plotting Attacks
The two alleged Iranian spies arrested in the U.S. on August 9, 2018 were not just gathering intelligence on Americans and Iranians who oppose the regime. That intelligence was apparently to be used for attacks.
Ahmadreza Mohammadi-Doostdar, an Iranian with dual U.S. citizenship, and Majid Ghorbani, an Iranian national with permanent U.S. residency, were charged with acting as agents on behalf of the Iranian government in federal court on August 20, 2018. According to the FBI affidavit, Doostdar and Ghorbani were preparing alleged “target packages” on individuals who posed a threat to the Iranian regime on American soil.
Doostdar and Ghorbanin ran surveillance on Jewish facilities and events in the United States in support of Mujahdein-e Khalq (MEK), an exiled Iranian resistance group that advocates for the complete overthrow of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his Islamist regime.

Magomed-Ali C. had his asylum application in Germany rejected in accordance with Article 25 of the Residence Act. He, as a rejected asylum seeker and know Islamist perpetrator was not deported due to "deportation obstacles" according to the Berliner newspaper. A medical report claiming Magomed-Ali C. suffers from mental illness was submitted to the immigration authorities. Last December he was granted temporary residency until December 6th 2019.
5. Leicester hospital knife rampage man jailed
A man who stabbed a bystander outside a hospital and then went on a rampage inside has been jailed for five years.
Yusuf Aka stabbed the man with a large knife outside the Leicester Royal Infirmary early on 16 January.
Inside he began throwing monitors across the reception, including one at a wheelchair user trying to flee.
The 22-year-old, of Grovebury Walk, Leicester, admitted causing grievous bodily harm, wounding, affray and possession of an offensive weapon.
6. ISIS leader al-Baghdadi appears to call for attacks on Canada in new audio recording
The leader of the Islamic State group has called for attacks on Canada and other Western countries in a new audio recording, the first attributed to him in nearly a year.
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi urged the group’s followers to respond to recent defeats by carrying out bombings, stabbings and vehicular attacks in his purported 55-minute speech titled “Give Glad Tidings to the Steadfast,” which was published by the group’s media wing on Wednesday.
“For the Mujahideen (holy warriors) the scale of victory or defeat is not dependent on a city or town being stolen or subject to that who has aerial superiority, intercontinental missiles or smart bombs,” al-Baghdadi said in the Arabic recording.

Ten European envoys have failed to reach deal over the migrant boat Diciotti standoff, according to the European Commission (EC) in Brussels on Friday.
"It's not a meeting where decisions will be taken, but it's a meeting where participants will contribute to bringing the ongoing joint work on solutions forward," Tove Ernstit, Spokesperson of EC said. "This includes also cooperation between member states on disembarkation and responsibility sharing."

(ANSA) - Treviso, August 24 - Interior Minister Matteo Salvini in Treviso has been reported for instigating race hatred, sources said Friday. Salvini, who has taken a hard line on migrants, was reported by a group of Italian citizens for statements he made in June and July, legal sources said.
They cited statements including “the happy days for clandestine immigrants are over, get ready to pack your bags, in a well-mannered and tranquil way, but they must go home.”
Salvini has recently called migrants “gym-honed.”
