1. Smashed with a bottle for rejecting being groped: Shocking photos show bloodied Swedish woman attacked in a nightclub after man put his hands between her legs
A teenager has told how a man smashed a bottle over her head in a nightclub in Malmo, Sweden, after he sexually assaulted her and she pushed him away.
Sophie Johansson, 19, told Swedish media that she had never met the man before, and that she suddenly felt his hands on her bottom and between her legs on the dance floor.
She says she hit him in order to get him to stop, to which he responded by punching her in the face and then hitting her with a glass bottle.
2. Appeal court orders new trial for Halifax taxi driver acquitted of sex assault
HALIFAX -- Nova Scotia's highest court has ordered a new trial for a taxi driver acquitted of sexually assaulting a highly intoxicated passenger, saying the trial judge erred in law by finding there was no evidence of lack of consent.
In a unanimous decision released Wednesday, the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal found the judge ignored or disregarded circumstantial evidence that would have allowed him to infer the complainant did not voluntarily agree to engage in sexual activity, or that she lacked the capacity to do so.
Under the law, the Crown was obligated to prove the complainant was not capable of understanding the nature of what was happening to her.

3. FBI Confirms Jihadi Training Camps in America
Newly-released FBI documents obtained by Clarion Project confirm Clarion’s reports that Jamaat ul-Fuqra is training members in isolated communes across America and Canada.
The group’s “Islamberg” headquarters in upstate New York is its most well-known “Islamic village.”
Fuqra, which now goes by the name of the Muslims of the Americas (MOA) among other titles, is a cultish Islamist group with a history of crime and terrorism. The group is led by Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani in Pakistan.
Gilani’s name appeared in headlines in 2002 when Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was abducted and beheaded on his way to interview Gilani, though the radical cleric was never accused of an involvement in those crimes.
The first FBI document is dated November 27, 2009 and labels the Muslims of the Americas, Inc. as “armed and dangerous.” It begins by summarizing the group’s consistent history of extremism, terrorism and crime.

4. B’nai Brith Canada Appalled by Antisemitism on “Muslims in Calgary” Website
CALGARY – B’nai Brith Canada has filed a complaint with the Calgary Police Service over the virulently antisemitic content being promoted by a group, Muslims in Calgary, on its website and Facebook page.
On Wednesday, a concerned community member alerted B’nai Brith to an article posted by the group on Jan. 27, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, in which the author denies that six-million Jews were killed by the Nazis and their collaborators, claiming that the Holocaust has been exaggerated by Jews in order to attract global sympathy.
The author of the article is none other than David Duke, a U.S. white supremacist and former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan.
The Muslims in Calgary site no longer has the page but below is a screen cap:
5. Come clean about jihadis back in Britain, ministers are told amid fears hundreds of extremists could be walking on UK streets
Ministers are under growing pressure to disclose how many British jihadis who have returned from Syria have been prosecuted amid fears hundreds are roaming free on UK streets.
The Home Office has repeatedly refused to publish its latest figures showing how many returnees have faced UK courts, claiming it does not hold the data.
This is despite the fact that in 2016, the department was able to reveal how one in eight jihadists who had travelled to Syria and Iraq had been prosecuted on their return to the UK.
Last night politicians urged the Government to “come clean” on the numbers ahead of a debate on the issue of returnees in the Commons today (Weds).
Labour MP John Woodcock, who called for the debate, said the Government’s failure to disclose the figures heightened fears only a “fraction” have been prosecuted.
6. Death threats for first Muslim woman to lead prayers in India
AFTER becoming the first woman in India to lead Friday prayers for a mixed congregation, 34-year-old Jamida Beevi has received death threats for her defiance of established Islamic practice.
On Jan 26, the teacher led the Friday prayer of Jumu’ah Namaz in Malappuram, Kerala, becoming the first woman to lead the ritualistic prayer for a group of both genders. Traditionally, a male imam leads the prayer, unless it is an all-woman congregation. Jamida also delivered a sermon on gender justice.
Despite backlash from people she calls “extremists,” Jamida remains defiant and says she will continue on her path for equality.
“I have been criticised a lot by elders of various factions for taking this step. There are men who will not like women taking these positions and being empowered,” she told NDTV. “But the Qu’ran is clear – there is no discrimination between man and woman. They have equal rights.”
7. Philadelphia: Driver who tried to hit pedestrian then attacked officer identified as Muslim named Khalil Lawal
Khalil Lawal of Arlington, Virginia, 31, has a Facebook page (doubtless it will soon be taken down). He is a member of the group Jannah Al-Firdaus, which says: “Jannah [Paradise] is my Goal My happiness is my Imaan [faith] and my Imaan [faith] is in my heart and my heart doesn’t belong to anyone but Allaah:)♥ In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful Alsalam Alaykum…”
8. Eight-year-old Jewish boy is latest victim of anti-Semitic attacks in France, sparking angry response from President Macron
An eight-year-old boy has become the latest victim of an anti-Semitic attack in France, sparking an angry response from President Emmanuel Macron.
The boy was beaten up by two teenagers for wearing a kippah - the Jewish skullcap - in the northern Paris suburb of Sarcelles on Tuesday.
It is the latest in a string of assaults that has worried France's large Jewish community, coming three weeks after a kosher supermarket in the Paris suburbs was gutted in a suspected arson attack. [...]
Sarcelles, nicknamed “Little Jerusalem” due to its large Jewish population, was rocked by anti-Jewish violence during the 2014 war in Gaza.
Several shops were set on fire or vandalised, including a kosher grocery.
Earlier this month, a kosher supermarket in Creteil, a suburb on the other side of Paris, was targeted by arsonists on the anniversary of the 2015 terror attack on another Jewish shop.

10. Sharia marriage should be recognised in British law, review commissioned by Theresa May concludes
The landmark report by Professor Mona Siddiqui also called for Sharia councils to be regulated by the Government and warned that banning the religious bodies could force them "underground".
Announcing its findings today the report found that couples should be forced to register their Islamic marriage in a civil ceremony and fines should be imposed if they do not.
There is no current obligation to do so, meaning couples who want to divorce must do so in a Sharia court, where the marriage is recognised.
The Marriage Act would have to be changed in order to enforce the recommendation, which is being considered by the Home Office.
