2. UAE jails Singapore pair for wearing women's clothes
A man and a pre-operative transgender woman from Singapore have been jailed in the United Arab Emirates for a year for wearing women's clothes.
They were stopped at a shopping mall in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, on 9 August but their arrest and rapid trial are only being reported now.

3. Europe must heed the warning of jihadists posing as migrants”
LIBYA'S prime minister Fayez al-Sarraj – who heads the UN‑backed unity government – has warned that Europe will be increasingly under threat from terrorists posing as migrants.
It is believed that those responsible for the recent attacks in Spain have links to North Africa.
And thousands of migrants – 98,000 so far this year – have made their way to Europe via Libya, heading towards Italy.
Says Mr al-Serraj: ‘When migrants reach Europe, they will move freely. If, God forbid, there are terrorist elements among the migrants, a result of any incident will affect all of the EU.” He is also rightly critical of Europe’s weak response saying it did not “match the challenges Libya is facing.’”
4. ISIS threatens Donald Trump in propaganda video
ISLAMIC State (ISIS) has issued its latest chilling propaganda video which features a boy warning Donald Trump that ‘the battle will end in your lands’.
The footage is said to feature a 10-year-old boy who is the son of a US soldier, although this has not been verified.
In the clip the boy, who appears to speak with an American accent, calls the US President a “puppet of the Jews” and says that “the battle will end in your lands”.
The 10-year-old boy claims he has become good friends with another child, 7-year-old Abdullah from the northern Iraqi town of Sinjar, in the region of Iraq that ISIS overran in August 2014, slaughtering thousands of members of the Yazidi sect that the extremists considers to be a devil-worshipping cult.
The boy, believed to be called Yusuf, who emigrated to Syria two years ago with his mother, describes the constant airstrikes against the terrorist organisation ISIS and predicts that the battle will move to American soil.

6. Poland vows court battle with EU as voters say they could QUIT BLOC over migrant quotas
Polish ministers confirmed they will fight their corner in court unless eurocrats immediately drop infringement proceedings, enacted last month over the country’s refusal to take in refugees.
The move marks a further ramping up of rhetoric between the two parties over the issue of migration, with relations deteriorating between Warsaw and Brussels at an alarming rate.
EU officials have notified Poland of their intention to take action over the government’s refusal to accept migrant quotas, with punishments potentially including a hefty fine.
But with the latest opinion polling showing that more than half of Poles would be prepared to quit the bloc altogether if the EU imposes its migration policies, neither side looks likely to back down.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested, though Rotterdam mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb said it was not clear whether the threat and the van were connected.
8. The Globe and Mail: Real cause of Islamic terrorism is “Islamophobia”
(There is no explanation why centuries of anti-Semitism have not led to large numbers of Jewish people blowing up concert halls or running over people on bridges and pedestrian malls while shouting “Moses is the one true prophet.”)
9. The mayor of Venice vows again that terrorists will be killed
“If you run through Piazza SanMarco shouting “Allahu Akhbar”, go four steps and we will shoot you down.”
(The missing word is “snipers”; the mayor is placing snipers throughout the city.)
