Lately CNN have been under fire for attempting to punish an internet user who posted a GIF which was tweeted by President Donald Trump.

This is a two way street. On the surface it looks great that one form of big media is being taken down by the alternative form of media, which claims to be defending the freedom of expression. However, remember that cable media was also the answer to the censoring broadcast and print media when it first launched, then it became the censor. The internet media is already proceeding to censorship as per stories regarding you tube, face book, twitter. When it becomes the dominant media, if it is not already, it will be the censor. Who ever controls the dominant media controls information, and that power leads to censorship of expression.

The Internet is … for the moment … and open and rough place, as it should be. It is up to the individual to protect himself. Do you go outside into the snowy winter naked? Then why would you go out on to the Internet unprotected?

CNN will always be fake news, so treat them that way.
