Violence at Raptors Parade won't “divide us,” say Toronto fans

David MenziesMission Specialist

The Raptors’ NBA championship was supposed to be a good news story

It was supposed to be a welcome tonic to the terrorism and lethal gunplay Toronto has witnessed in the last several months. But a few thugs showed up at the victory parade with weapons.

In addition to carrying out acts of carnage by injuring attendees, these savage thugs also robbed Toronto of a golden moment. Despicable.

Well said Ron. It is clear that Haitian Gangs, and Jamaican Gangs are leading the pack in violence, in Toronto.. In the Lower Mainland BC, it’s East Indians. Pakistan and Indian gangs.. They hate one another and their War has been imported to Canada.. Welcome to Diversity, my fellow Canadians.. Yet “Diversity is our strength”? Colombia is now looking much safer than Canada, and I’m considering moving there…

Robert Sloane touched on the events of the course of time, 30 or 40 years.

As the male baby boomers in Western countries grew older, they committed less murders or violent crime. It is only natural, even though the Police and politicians like to take credit for crime going down.
Now we go to the reason crime is going up in these cities. It is not because of well vetted Immigration, but LIBERAL STYLE unvetted Refugees and border jumpers, obviously poor people that need money or violent people that bring their violence to the new city or country.
Many times it’s even gangs, Mexican or other South American, African or mainly Middle East gangs of different ME Countries.

How many of you KNEW that something was going to go wrong at this event? I would have bet money on it, if there was a way to do so. That’s right, T.O. is not the City it once was. In my teens, I would take Bus and Subway from Mississauga to Toronto just to walk around and people watch. I felt safe, even at night. That was over 40 years ago. Now? I have no desire to visit Toronto. It’s not what it once was. And it’s not the increase in population that has brought these changes about. You all (except for Lib’s/Lefty’s) know why. Just check out the stats. Check out the demographics… And how long will it be before shootings occur at the Santa Claus Parade?

Shit happens in a city that size. Your chances of being involved are very, very small.

Crime rates overall haven’t increased, at least in major centres in the East (the West is a different kettle of fish) Toronto had 60-80 murders a year through the 70s and 80s. You just hear about it more now. Partly, this is just confirmation bias. Toronto’s going downhill and every murder is evidence of that, even if rates aren’t increasing.

That city is gone Edward. Toronto is unrecognizable to me. Don’t those people who ‘refuse to be afraid’ wonder why these things are happening with such regular occurrence these days? Doesn’t it occur to them that something could be done if there was only the will?

I’m not at all surprised at the increase of gun and knife play when the Supreme Court in it’s infinite wisdom struck down Harper’s tough on crime legislation.

This could have been a lot worse if people ended up getting stampeded to death as we have seen in other major events. All the proclamations of refusing to be afraid mean very little when the guns start popping.

The comments made by people trying to assure themselves aren’t very assuring. What good does being brought together and united if only to witness our powerless victimization and wait impotently for the next series of attacks. Toronto is not the same city I grew up visiting almost every weekend over a few decades without a care.

They can’t imagine such a thing happening in Toronto? Its not our city?
Well it is now. Welcome to the new Canada where you now never know what violence is going to erupt. It looks like people in Toronto will carry on pretending these events are one offs. If only it wasn’t going to be spread right across the country. We’re not in Kansas anymore.

Gun control will NEVER stop this sort of violence. The monsters shooting the guns must be dealt with and with such severity that it’ll make people rethink their wicked plans. But stupid people want to confiscate guns so that nobody can defend themselves. And look how messed up London is with knife crime soaring and Sadiq Khan doing SFA about it. By the way, I posted this comment to Facebook. I wonder how many so-called friends will unfriend me. Those folks aren’t worth having words with.

Robert Greeley posted: Liberal Tan jumps ship.
In January 2018, it was reported that Tan had acted as an intermediary for an individual who was under investigation by the RCMP, the Ontario Securities Commission, and the Chinese government in relation to a pyramid scheme estimated at $466 million.

$466 million, If we miss $300. on our Income Tax, we are criminals, so why doesn’t
Brenda Lucki investigate this Liberal MP??

David did not say who the the trouble makers were but I guess it was the usual suspects making a few feeble attempts to look like Jihad was starting.
At noon today a fifteen year old boy was stabbed twenty times, this kid was lucky…..He is in hospital. (London UK)

Sad that some idiots had to act up , but possibly it is Karma for Toronto.

A couple of people interviewed mentioned Toronto is such a diverse city, does that mean no white people. I didn’t see David interview any! Maybe I’m mixed up with Multiculturalism.
