Lampooning Trudeau's India trip is democracy, not racism

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

On last night's episode of The Ezra Levant Show, guest-host David Menzies and Edmonton Sun columnist Lorne Gunter discussed the outrage over a Radio-Canada comedy sketch the mocked Justin Trudeau's disastrous trip to India.

Lorne explained that mocking a political leader isn't racist, it's vital to democracy.

Democratically elected leaders must not be seen as beyond reproach, and those claiming the "spoof" was racist are forgetting that the point of satire is to be insensitive.

Call me cynical but I’m strongly inclined to suspect that any Indo-Canadians who protested that video were very likely Liberal operatives (or MPs)!

Saddest part of this is that Justin is criticism and comedy Gold that pretty much writes itself and the source material is endless but too much of the media and entertainment industry will not do it.
