Trudeau Liberals silent as Trump bans Canadian goods and services from U.S. infrastructure projects

Rebel Staff

What I’m about to tell you is a secret in Canada.

At least, I cannot find a single media outlet that reported it, even though it was news announced at a noisy press conference by the noisiest president in a century.

On Thursday, January 31, Donald Trump signed an executive order banning Canadian goods and services from hundreds of billions of dollars of U.S. government contracts.

It doesn’t actually mention Canada by name. But of course Canada is by far the country that will be the most impacted — given the size of our trading relationship with the U.S., and the integration of our economies, and the nature of the products and services being banned.

I know you haven’t heard about this. You probably don’t even believe me, because it’s such shocking news, and it’s such a disaster. All you’ve heard from the Media Party instead is how amazing Chrystia Freeland, our foreign minister is, and how she totally wrestled that Donald Trump to the ground over NAFTA renegotiations.

Tonight I'll show you excerpts from Trump's announcement, because no-one else in Canadian media has told you that we’re in a trade war now.

I’m not a trade lawyer, but after reading Trump's executive order in full, I think it means that Canadians won’t even be able to make the Keystone XL pipeline that Trump approved.

Now, Trudeau doesn’t care — he doesn’t want Canadians to build pipelines in Canada, so he can’t very well demand that Canadians be allowed to build pipelines in America. Or sell the steel for it.

Oh, by the way:

Canada created 9,300 jobs in the last month for which we have data. America created 304,000. They have nine times our population. But 32 times as much jobs growth.

What do you think this new "Buy American, Hire American" executive order will do to those numbers?

We are in a trade war, as bad as anything we’ve faced in a decade. That’s dangerous.

But just as dangerous is a media party — and political establishment, including Andrew Scheer’s Conservatives, I might add — who won’t say a word about it...

NEXT: Remember when leftists eager to sabotage Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh even went through his school yearbooks to try to dig up dirt about him?

Well, turnabout is fair play, I guess:

After the Democratic governor of Virginia defended what amounts to infanticide, a conservative blog dug up his yearbook — and now the governor is being accused of posing in either a KKK robe, or a "blackface" costume.

Tonight, to make sense of all this, I'm joined by Pardes Seleh of Mediaite.com.

FINALLY:

Remember, the Trump administration calls Junior “that little punk kid running Canada”. Do you think anyone is going to pick up the phone when our Dear Leader calls?
😒🤦‍♂️

The truth is there is nothing much the Dynamic Duo of the Boy Blunder and Cryin’ Chrys can do now to avoid this train wreck. The Dauphin had every opportunity to build a relationship with Trump in the first year of the Trump presidency, yet he chose to arrogantly shun and insult him instead. As a result, there is no goodwill between our Dear Leader and Trump, and Trump has no motivation to cut Canada any slack. The Dynamic Duo have burned their bridges and there is no going back.
Junior and the left stream media will remain silent about this, as to do otherwise, would only undo their narrative that the USMCA negotiations were a roaring success. YOU’RE WELCOME CANADA!

Jamie said, “There’s a slogan for ya, Max…we know that Scheer-the-steer won’t say it.”

Good slogan! It is the media, particularly the CBC, that has gelded Scheer and put the ring in his nose.

So Trump speaks his mind. So what? It is refreshing to see a politician not be a slimy weasel for a change.

So Trump puts the his country’s priorities first. That is what a President (or Prime Minister) is supposed to do for his country!

Trump is governing the US to enrich the US.

Trudeau is governing Canada to enrich himself, his Liberal party, and his supporters.

Many Canadian choose not to see that about either leader, and when I use the term “leader” in reference to Trudeau, it is with tongue-in-cheek and full of sarcasm.

The CBC and the rest of the main stream media push their Trump hatred, but if you really listen, I mean truly listen to what they say, most of what they say is untrue or conflated and many foolish Canadians follow along like stupid puppy dogs, believing the CBC hatred and barking the CBC talking points.

A grown-up would see that Trump is acting on behalf of the USA, and that same grown up should also be able to see the Liberals are acting on behalf of themselves.

Karen said, “I think it was a dumb move royale & if you weaken your economy & your international neighbourhood, you increased the value of your opponets neighbourhood.”

The US economy is not weakened. It is stronger than it has been in many decades. And by forcing the government to buy locally increases the US economy, not weaken it.

“Now, Trudeau doesn’t care….”

Exactly! Trudeau and his Liberals just don’t care.

They don’t care about this Country, and they certainly don’t care about YOU.

There’s a slogan for ya, Max…we know that Scheer-the-steer won’t say it.

Done by design through the regime leader’s idiocy and fatal ideologies. The Federal regime is silent and sitting on their hands not from embarrassment but from their fear Canadians will see their joy. The regime has no interest in keeping Canada viable, they have zero concern for Canada and Canadians. Not one regime member has the ability to act on behalf of Canada as Mr. Harper did. Liberals are failures, consistently demonstrating their inadequacy as MPs and Canadians.
Facilitated by the current Federal regime Canadian MSM has spewed nothing but Trump hate for over 3 years, their BS is lapped up by Liberal sheep and those who have no ability to think for themselves. Their ugly reporting is disgusting, they fail to consider their detrimental contributions. May karma knock on their doors.
I bear no ill will for President Trump for doing what is right for his country and its people. I am angry and sad that we have a fairy sock prince whose only accomplishment was legalizing pot (no applause to that), who hates the country he is supposedly governing as well as the people who built it. Canada has no leader just an empty suit carrying Canada’s chequebook.
Emails being sent to Mr. Scheer and my MP telling them to shape up and get working hard on this potential fiasco. There’s absolutely no sense contacting Trudeau or any of his Liberal minions, they consistently ignore Canadians and their concerns.

They have screwed Alberta , so why should i care if this screw Ontario?
commented 2019-02-05 03:05:50 -0500
Charred Remains yeah that seems more likely than what i said. Now they have to actually speak about what is happening , it should be quite fun hearing their BS spin.

Andy Neimers great point, we have lived under their military umbrella for a long time.

Hi Karen… re “I think in the next…. 50 years, parts of Canada is either going to be invaded or sold to the USA.”… Maybe so… given that the United States has been guarding our “royal northern ass” since WWII and we STILL DON’T PAY OUR FARE SHARE OF NATO!!!
commented 2019-02-05 02:12:33 -0500
If the Libs knew how to conduct negotiations we would have had a fair trade deal that benefited both countries , instead they played to their Left Wing base ignoring the rest of Canada, now it is biting them in the ass and they are powerless to do anything about it.
commented 2019-02-05 02:08:49 -0500
Now maybe the useful idiot sheep will get a clue and realize Justin is an imbecile playing virtue signal games while Trump is conducting actual business. Our PM talked sh*t about him and our media craps on him , we do not shoulder our load in NATO either, what the hell do you expect? Trump is not President of Canada , he does what he thinks is best for his country, i know that is a strange concept for a Liberal to figure out. The Liberals are selling us out to China so why would Trump want to help China by buying from us?
commented 2019-02-05 02:08:06 -0500
Now that The Rebel has broken the Executive Order Story, I await the MSM’s spin on the USA putting their own Workers ahead of us Foreigners that have gotten increasingly foreign since the last Federal Election’ (?).

Hey Robert Greeley,
Do you think Trump listens to this while he grabs Canada’s p***y, Trudeau?

I’m so embarrassed to have self important buffoons like Freeland and Trudeau in charge of Canadian foreign affairs. I can only hope Trump is, as a secondary bonus to shutting out China, doing us Canadian conservatives a solid before our election and exposing their incompetence in an attempt to get them voted out.
commented 2019-02-04 23:24:50 -0500
On second thought, maybe its not crazy to say Trump is after real estate.
commented 2019-02-04 23:07:53 -0500
This is a far out prediction…
I think in the next…. 50 years, parts of Canada is either going to be invaded or sold to the USA.
Those guys are after real estate in my opinion.
Why else would they shut down almost our entire economy (not yet but a trade war will do it) so we rely on communists (if given the permission) and give the USA an excuse to move north to expand?
Far out idea. Just an assumption. Crazy off the wall prediction…
But… If in doubt, sell to the USA.

Peter Netterville,
I do not think sabotaging a sphere of influence will help a protectionist’s goal.
I think Trump is ballooning national debt. He expanded gov’t with this move. He bailed out the steel industry instead of exporting steel.
I think it was a dumb move royale & if you weaken your economy & your international neighbourhood, you increased the value of your opponets neighbourhood.
Its a dick move.

There is good news about this possible loss of trade, it will take effect just before the election. I wonder if Scheer will help spread the word; he has criticized Trudeau and Freeland’s job on USMC trade agreement. What a opportunity for Scheer!
commented 2019-02-04 22:22:18 -0500
Why do people blame Trump for doing what is best for his people? Does anyone know why … Karen, possibly?
commented 2019-02-04 22:18:35 -0500
Most, if not all, of the people where I work loathe Trump. This news would probably make them hate him even more, if that is even possible. Luckily they all listen to the main stream media only, so they probably will never hear about this since the MSM is not talking about it.

Mark Chadwick said, " I warned all you Trump haters . "
____________________
Mark , you are so correct; I can’t watch CTV News Net, Fake News North anymore. First of all they have these low IQ News Readers cutting down Trump, then their guests from S. Ont. Universities; before they even say anything, their face shows how much they hate Trump. As if they have ever accomplished anything besides getting a Government Job and teaching kids the wrong Liberal Policies.

Finally they have the Ottawa Citizen Newspaper Editor, a moron that speaks like he hasn’t been out of Ottawa for 10 years. After Andrew they have his little friend Radio Boy, who is a sportscaster, but laughs at Trump’s Policies in Business; what a jerk.

Like Ezra said, Trudeau has been to the US over a dozen time, and always visits Obama Hacks.
Here is a question for everyone, How many times has Trudeau invited Trump to Canada? Even if you hate your customers, you have to invite them to your Headquarters. Likely Trudeau has never done this.

For everyone’s information.
This is from a USA gov’t report from September 2018.

Steel Trade Balance
With the exception of three quarters,
Canada has maintained a moderate
trade deficit in steel products since
2005. Rising exports in the first half
of 2008 and a spike in exports in Q4
2012 caused the deficit to briefly
become a surplus. Since their recent
low points in Q1 2009, imports grew
97 percent by Q2 2018, while exports
grew 87 percent. In YTD 2018,
Canada’s steel trade deficit amounted
to -947 thousand metric tons, a 34
percent increase from -709 thousand
metric tons in YTD 2017.
Steel Imports Report: Canada
Import Volume, Value, and Product
In 2017, the volume of Canada’s steel imports increased by 13 percent to 8.7 million metric tons from
7.7 million metric tons in 2016. In YTD 2018, imports totaled 4.6 million metric tons — a 13 percent
increase from 4.1 million metric tons in YTD 2017.
Flat products accounted for 36 percent of Canada’s steel exports in YTD 2018 — a total of 1.7 million
metric tons. Long products accounted for 30 percent, or 1.4 million metric tons, of Canada’s
imports, followed by pipe and tube at 20 percent (932 thousand metric tons), semi-finished steel at 8
percent (376 thousand metric tons), and stainless products at 5 percent (227 thousand metric tons).
Cited International Trade Administration under the USA’s Commerce branch of gov’t.
Do you know why there is a trade deficit?
Because of what we manufacture.
This is an uppercut.

This is similar to what Trudeau did when MbS ordered all of the Saudi medical students to return to Saudi Arabia after the spat with Canada. Then, he did nothing, and now he does nothing. Trudeau just doesn’t know how to play hard ball, so he gets walked all over. All he really knows how to do is to virtue signal, and it’s not enough.
commented 2019-02-04 21:59:38 -0500
The media and the Liberal govt. will hide any massive job losses . Cover up things that the public need not know. They also banned reporters from the Lima conference Now is this not dictatorship?

Ya justin is fixing the election. And we’re paying for it. Maybe trump could use foreign influence just like everyone else to rid us of this ideological theocracy. Get it done. Any news on Asia Bibi? I heard she was in Canada.
