Trudeau doubles down on claim Harper is a bigot

Trudeau can't see past the veil.

OTTAWA - He's been criticized by prominent Jewish groups, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and NDP Leader Tom Mulcair but on Wednesday Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau stood by his comments comparing a requirement for Muslim women to remove their face veils during citizenship ceremonies to Canada's rejection of Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi Germany.

Trudeau was pressed by reporters about accusing the sitting prime minister of fomenting bigotry following the weekly Liberal caucus meeting on Parliament Hill.

"I think one of the most important things that we need to remember as Canadians is how we got to where we are as a nation," Trudeau said.

"How is it that Canada is the one place on this earth that has figured out how to be strong not in spite of our differences but because of them."

The comparison was made earlier in the week during a speech Trudeau gave in Toronto.

"So we should all shudder to hear the same rhetoric that led to a ‘none is too many’ immigration policy toward Jews in the ’30s and ’40s being used today, to raise fears against Muslims today,” Trudeau said Monday.

Defending himself Wednesday morning, Trudeau doubled down on claiming the Conservatives are being anti-Muslim:

"The fact is that we are right now in a situation around security, around international terrorism that is causing fear in Canadians. And what we need from a prime minister is to allay those fears."

Trudeau said that Prime Minister Harper and his cabinet are "continually engaging" in the politics of fear:

How can this man do insincere and stupid to the degree he does?

I cringe every time I watch him.

I think this is going to work against him. Let’s hope so.

How many billions of YOUR MONEY will this imbecile spend to legalize another intoxicant in a culture that is already awash in them, just so he can court the loser vote? Every time I see a photo of his vapid mug I want to vomit.

I have yet to hear anything of substance come out of Trudeau’s mouth, only platitudes. Unlike JT, I want the truth from my Prime Minister, not political correctness. If there is a threat, I want to know about it & not told to stick my head in the sand. As for wearing a Darth Vader mask to pledge the Oath of Allegiance it is an insult to Canada & I hope PM Harper will be successful in his appeal

I am out on a limb with this and stand to be corrected but to the best of my knowledge there is not one word in the Quoran that states that a woman has to ware head covering.

If these veils are indeed religious and not cultural like the left tries to say… they should support the unmasking 100% because of their mantra of separating church and state. You can’t have it both ways unless you are Liberal.

All canadians must show their face when necessary…so muslim must do the same..that is all Prime minister Harper said….

Love that Brian about Truduea is behind the veil. LOL. Justin, its about being required to show yourself when you get your citizenship. Would any other minority be able to cover themself? Would a man? Trudeau is so obviously bought and paid for by the mosques in Toronto. Funny thing is those votes are already his, so I am glad this likely won’t help him in the fall.

Can conservatives learn from the Muslim community. We all know ISLAM has embraced the LGBT community with open arms. They lead Canadians and the world regarding women’s rights and equality issues. Muslim abortion clinics outnumber those of any other religion . Gay marriage? Yes, you can marry as many as you want because with that many who would notice a few extra guys in the mix. ISLAM is a religion of peace, tollerance and inclusion. RIGHT? Lets all embrace their ideas and we can be just as successful and free as all the other countries where their religion of peace dominates.
If Muslim women can wear this offensive garb , then equality dictates that I can wear a welding helmet to the voting polls this fall. I said polls because maybe I can vote three or four times. Who would know the difference. And I will not be casting a vote for this ignoramus Trudeau. And by the way baby Pierre, Canada got here long before your daddy came on the scene.

This guy is absolutely over the top. All the Liberals ever do is talk in platitudes. Trudeau would be hard pressed to get a job flipping burgers without the last name. No disrespect to the burger flippers out there.

No doubt about it, Truedough is brain dead.

I’ve never seen a political leader with such a degree of lack of substance as Trudeau. This puppet would be such an embarrassment as PM and I can only imagine who much worse Canada would be for it.

Jocelyn Buckley, your comment is right on the mark about this lousy actor.

It looks like the Liberal party election campaign team has found its main theme for the upcoming election. Defend the Muslims, denounce Harper as a bigot in charge of a racist party and try to convince Canadians that the Conservatives have been engaging in a campaign of spreading lies, fear and misinformation so that they can engage in wars against the Muslim nations. Hilarious! These people are so out of touch with Canadians it’s painful.

Charles Adler posted a wonderful rebuttal to Mr. Trudeau. This needs to be posted across Canada so that all Canadians can hear Mr. Adler challenge Mr. Trudeau to a debate on this issue. Mr. Trudeau is like the Pillsbury Dough Boy; you can punch as many holes in him as you want, and he still emerges with a glossy inane smile on his face He is all dough (deau)!

I agree, Jocelyn. “Not in myyyyy Canada.” “The Charrrrrter.” Pretentious, smarmy twit.

“I think one of the most important things that we need to remember as Canadians is how we got to where we are as a nation,” Trudeau said. What? I’m so sick of his platitudes. A whole bunch of words, but he has nothing to do with the issue at hand. ISIS has declared war on Canada and the rest of the free world. I can’t shake the feeling that he thinks he’s talking to his drama class kids and thinks we’re all stupid. With his put-on soft, sing-songy voice, dodging the hard questions, dodging the easy questions and speaking in cliches, I would say that his audition for playing the part of Prime Minister is going terribly! I would have thought that the Liberal Party of Canada could have found a better actor!

Well if Prime Minister is a Canadian, trudeau is an asshole or was that waterhole! You have to be French to understand the joke!

Trudeau could not care less about Muslims. He is
strictly looking for votes in the next election, hoping
they will make him PM.

When will the liberals stop being so ridiculous? What does it take to be a Liberal Leader? From what I see it takes big lips to kiss ass, and no gag reflex. These liberals today are not what they were once before. Calling the Pm a bigot but still backing the Anti-terrorist bill is beyond compression. The whole liberal party is full of quacks. Canada neads a leader that can stand up to other world leaders, look them in the eye, and without blinking or a teleprompt, tell them, Canada will not be dictated to about our laws, values, and our way of life.
And at this point we really don’t have that leader. But I think Harper is getting there slowly.

There are no words i can find that accurately describe what a complete moron this man is. I dont understand how he is a contender in PM election run up. But then i also dont understand how wynne got a majority. Can we ban ontario from voting in the federal election?!? Lol dare to dream

Remember that JT is the offspring of a quasi gang banging porn star named Maggie who was a long term substance abuser. Stuttering JT, ah, um, um, ah, um, has a difficult time with original thought as evidenced in the past. JT is recovering from his own excessive substance abuse problems during his past careers – ie: camp counselor, drama teacher. Watch JT closely – his eyes have a blank stare and he can’t finish a sentence without stuttering.

He is such an idiot. How can people not see it?

I like how this Chicken $#!t carries on without answering the question with anything new, just spouting the same lies, then runs away like a little girl being chased by a scary monster. Obviously he ran out of scripted lies and didn’t want anyone to ask a follow up holding his party to their record.

Empty headed tool. Liberals need people to be stupid, or they will never get elected.

Arn, nicely stated

Here’s another possibility for the JT picture at the top of this page: Did someone tell JT that his dad, in a fit of remorse, changed the War Measures Act so that JT won’t be able to abolish Parliament and rule as a dictator in order to turn Canada’s economy around on a dime, i.e. ruin it to save a few errant ducks out in the Alberta oil patch?

Justin ‘the Dauphin Trudeau claims that a Prime Minister should allay people’s fear over terrorism. What the Dauphin in unable to discern is that there is a marked distinction between allaying fear and obfuscating reality and/or downright lying to the electorate, in the name of political correctness or pandering to a bloc community to garner a few votes. The Dauphin’s pandering and disingenuousness on this issue is so transparent it is almost embarrassing. I would feel bad for him if I had any respect for him, which I don’t.
