Trudeau Liberals mount full-court press to sell carbon tax in Saskatchewan

Holly NicholasRebel Commentator

Minister of Public Safety Ralph Goodale was in Regina last week trying to sell the federal carbon tax as the key that unlocks the door for getting pipelines built.

Of course, he didn’t mention that the Notley NDP’s experiment with a carbon tax in Alberta is slamming doors on important investments and causing an oil and gas company exodus from the province.

Numerous companies have already left Alberta and it seems there’s no end in sight as companies continue to flee.

The Liberals love to say a carbon tax is like a magical pass to get pipelines built, even though not one has been approved as a result of a province putting a carbon plan in place.

They word police to ensure use of the term “pricing” and label anyone that opposes the tax a laggard, or a climate change denier to demonize those who dissent and try to shame them into agreement, but it’s really just a tax and a divisive political tool to campaign on in the next election.

Minister of Environment and Climate Change Catherine McKenna will be making her rounds in Saskatchewan to try to peddle the carbon tax this week following Goodale’s comments.

Which has me wondering, has anyone done an emissions calculation on the flights and globetrotting the Liberals are undertaking to sell this tax?

They’d never look to their own hypocrisy though - they’ll just keep blaming everyone else.

David White – thank you for your comments and all below, cudos to you all for the encouraging comments, maybe some day soon, we will be free from the clutches of eastern Canada. But looks like we will have a long time to wait, David – gladly will meet for coffee or lunch.

Flat Earth asked, “Do you ever believe for 1/2 of one second that we get access to British Columbia’s tidal water for free…??”

No, of course not. Everything costs. Nothing is for free.

Flat Earth said, “We would have no difficulties now or in the future with access to deep water ports because they run like a business”

The port do for sure, but the port has no control over the movement of the product to the port.
i.e. We have to get the natural resources to the port first, and that is controlled and/or blocked by politics and activism.

Let me ask you … has there been any new (or upgraded) pipelines through BC from Alberta in the last 20 years? Yes? No? Has there been any attempts made to get a pipeline built through BC? Were they successful? Yes? No? If no, then why not?

Flat Earth said, "There… Problem solved…!! "

No, problem not solved yet.

If it is difficult to get a pipeline through BC now while Alberta is part of Canada, then how much more difficult would it be to get a pipeline through BC once Alberta is no longer part of Canada. Can you say, “impossible”?

Stupid stupid liberals. And what is our stupid minister of safety got to do with the energy file? Get down to the border where you belong Ralph and start plugging the holes. Perhaps once our new Conservative party gets in we can convince them to hold a referendum with Saskatchewan to separate.

ROY….I would like to be the guy leading the charge but I lack a couple things. Money and brains. I sure hope the right guy comes along though.

ROY J…Hang in there. Many of us are with you. You know who we are. It would be nice if we could just snap our fingers and extricate ourselves from the rot, but I think for now more patience will be needed, but the weekend merger here has brought some optimism at least…if we can get the right leader.

As for separation, if Manitoba joined us Churchill would do nicely for shipping. If BCs eco-freaks couldn’t stomach Alberta oil flowing to western ports, as FLAT EARTH said, our friends to the south would accommodate us. They would not pass up making a buck. They would be customers as well as shippers of our products.

One sad note for me if we are lucky enough to break loose one day, are the many fine folk from across the country who are like minded who I have come to know on this site. All I can say is you are welcome to come if it ever happens. We would be a power house conservative country……with NO CARBON TAX.

Roy, if I head up to Whitecourt this summer I will try to contact you and meet for coffee or lunch. For now, keep typing.

Peter Netterville..
Alberta and Saskatchewan have always been landlocked even though we are part of a provincial make up called Canada… Do you ever believe for 1/2 of one second that we get access to British Columbia’s tidal water for free…??
We would have no difficulties now or in the future with access to deep water ports because they run like a business… If you want something shipped you pay because it’s an enterprising situation. If BC didn’t want to play nice our neighbors to the south in the state of Washington would be more than happy to accommodate us.
There… Problem solved…!! My only question is now what’s the only other thing holding us back from suing for separation.

We are totally control and humiliated by eastern Canada and this will NEVER STOP. WE IN WESTERN CANADA HAVE TO PUT A STOP TO THIS GROSS ABUSE AND KEEP OUR RESOURCES AND MONEY HERE. IT’S WAY TIME TO GO. ..

One carasmadic person in Western Canada to get the ball rolling, where is he?

I can’t understand why in Western Canada, a population of approximately 10 million that there is Not one person who can start a SEPARATION FROM THIS COUNTRY. WE ARE CONSIDERED AS A COLONY ONLY AND THE ONLY THING EASTERN CANADA WANTS FROM US IS OUR HARD-EARNED MONEY. THERE HAS GOT TO BE SOMEONE WITH A WESTERN VISION, WESTERN VALUES, WESTERN MORALS WHO CAN GET THIS GOING.

David White and all the other comments, I so enjoy reading all your comments and they are so very true.

As for the lying, wasteful, thieving liberals who have the nerve to come to Saskatchewan and spew their garbage, what a bunch of hypocrites evil Goodale and lying McKenna are. Throw them out, don’t give them the time of day. THESE LYNG SUCKS HAVE THE BIGGEST FOOTPRINT EVER AND RAKING UP A HUGE BILL ON ALL THEIR TRAVELING. THIS TICKS ME OFF, KICK THESE BUGGARS TO THE CURB.

The stance taken for leadership candidates of the UCP should not only be canceling the NDP carbon taxes, but also opting out of any Federal plan: even if it means using the notwithstanding clause!
There are many ways of encouraging pollution reduction without a “Marxist, income balancing, poverty-inducing” carbon tax.
Canada is full of creative minds. We don’t need to subject ourselves to an economy destroying plan created in Paris or Brussels.

Thanks David,

I trust is good with you this summer as well.

Greasy Goodale is a laughingstock! McKenna is no better. Frequent flyers who despise everyone else’s “carbon footprint”.

Thanks for the report Holly.

Alberta and Saskatchewan could easily go independent from Canada. Being landlocked would be the greatest issue. Getting resources to tidewater would be critical to financial independence.

Louise & Harley, I couldn’t agree more as with many of the regulars that post on this site. Problem is that it is all talk at this point. Unfortunately there is no viable movement to progress the Western separation agenda forward.

You’re right Harley McCartney, we need to separate and live with western values.

“Trudeau Liberals mount full-court press to sell carbon tax in Saskatchewan”

Those thieving Liberal bastards are going to do whatever they can to shove their damn carbon tax down everyone’s throat. Bloody crooks!

THE WEST MUST SEPARATE independence is the only way. Trudeau for treason.

Who better to spew the garbage but Saskatchewan native mafioso Ralph"Gucci" Goodale. I can’t believe this veteran of Adscam has the gall to cross the Ontario Manitoba boarder. He is as much a traitor as Trudeau, and equally as criminal, and is essentially shitting on and thumbing his nose at Saskatchewan, his bread and butter.

Now Climate Barbie will apparently parachute in to seamlessly keep the flow of bullshit on track. I hope she brings a translator to decipher that blonde valley girl hip talk she spits out. She is a part of the stupid douche wing of Justin’s diverse cabinet. The funny thing about that “diverse” cabinet, none of them seem to have any MERIT.

As a side note, I put myself through the torture test of watching Al Gore being interviewed on CBC National last night. ( Please don’t be judgmental folks, I have only been watching the cbc shit show for research purposes, and believe me, the results have not been good). Anyway, Gore was sickening and spit out a couple of blatant lies. The interview was so biased and softball it was basically an ass kissing event with a bent for promoting lying propaganda on his upcoming fraudulent sequel to an Inconvenient Truth. I have some old hockey sticks in the garage. I’d like to beat that lying meathead Gore to a pulp to show him how a hockey stick can be used for something other than hockey. Got the idea from one of Justin’s imports who laid a licking on his wife with a hockey stick. I’m quite certain Jay Kelly, Kelly Weber and those of their ilk had involuntary orgasms if they caught the interview. Gore will rot in hell in the end.

Hi Mongrel….Hope all is well with you. I have been enjoying your posts and trust summer is treating you well.

Here is a thought for the Lying Party of Corruption. Build the pipeline first and then ask for the carbon tax.
