Trudeau’s Khadr payout “cost saving” claim is a lie

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

On last night's show, Lorrie Goldstein and I discussed Justin Trudeau giving Taliban terrorist Omar Khadr a $10.5 million settlement.

Trudeau defended the payout claiming it would've cost the government more money to go to trial against Khadr, but the $40 million figure he cites would be the largest settlement to anybody in Canadian history.

WATCH my video to see why Canadians think the government should've fought Khadr in court

We are launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise $1 million for the victims of Omar Khadr, you can contribute at SpeerKids.com

What Ezra Levant and the like won’t tell you.

“An Ontario Superior Court judge has turned down a request for a freeze order on Omar Khadr’s $10.5-million settlement.

Lawyers for the widow of a U.S. soldier killed in Afghanistan, and another injured U.S. soldier, were in court seeking a freeze order pending the final outcome of their bid to get an Ontario court to force Mr. Khadr to hand over his settlement to them.

We don’t, thank goodness, in Canada have one law for Omar Khadr and one law for all other Canadians," Justice Belobaba told the courtroom in announcing his decision.

I would rather pay $100 million to fight Khadar until the day he dies than pay out $10.5 million to him.

Rebels, I just sent Brian Lilley and Ezra Levant a request to investigate two Liberal MP’s – Amarjeet Sohi & Harjit Sajjan.
While researching Trudeau’s ties to terrorism I came across 3 very interesting videos. I sent the links and asked that these disturbing facts be investigated further and reported on.

David, Drew, Liza and others, thanks for your support of my campaign. I will post responses that stand out (good or bad).

Liza, the news about Petition e-909 is troubling, and you’re right, it’s pathetic.
commented 2017-07-19 00:34:20 -0400
FYI, the petition against m103 closed on July 5. There were 57731 signatures. https://petitions.ourcommons.ca/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-909
I wish Canadians would get off their asses. That didn’t even match the number that signed the petition for it to be moved forward as a motion.
Pathetic.
This ‘somebody else not me’ attitude is going to sink this country. Stand up and be counted for crissakes.

Regarding that petition,
E-1194 (Omar Khadr)
Whereas:
The Canadian government did not force Omar Khadr to fight for the Taliban and murder a U.S. medic;
The Canadian government had no role in his subsequent incarceration;
The people of Canada owe Omar Khadr no compensation;
We, the undersigned, citizens and residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to condemn Prime Minister Trudeau’s $10.5 million payment to Omar Khadr.

Clearly not enough people know this petition to the government of Canada exists. There are only 7073 signatures since it started on July 13.
Share.

Rebels, this is the best response I have received yet, and it is from Conservative MP Robert Sopuck, Dauphin – Swan River – Neepawa
His correspondence is honest, and in my reply to him, I thanked him for taking the time to communicate with me.
He wrote,
Dear Tammie,

Thank you for taking the time to write in with your concerns regarding the $10.5 million payout to Omar Khadr. Justin Trudeau’s decision to hand over taxpayer dollars to a convicted enemy combatant is truly a new low in the lack of principle that this government continues to show.

Here are the facts and why:

Years after Canada had welcomed Omar Khadr’s father Ahmed, he left Canada with his family and became a major figure in the Al-Qaeda terror network. The Khadr family had been provided the opportunity to have a life of freedom in Canada, but chose instead to turn to radical ideology and terrorism. Ahmed’s teenage sons became terrorist operatives alongside him in Afghanistan where Omar Khadr was filmed making Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). IEDs were the cause of thousands of deaths in Afghanistan, including Canadian and allied forces along with many more Afghan interpreters, women and children.

In 2002, Omar Khadr was fighting independently of his father and brother when American soldiers raided his Al-Qaeda compound. At the end of a four hour firefight, Omar Khadr threw a grenade that killed US Army medic Sgt. Christopher Speer and injured others. Mr. Khadr was given lifesaving care, taken into custody by the U.S. military, and eventually incarcerated at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp as an enemy combatant.

The Liberals have argued that the government was required to compensate Mr. Khadr because the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that his Charter rights were violated. This is incorrect. The Court did not demand any payment to Mr. Khadr. Any compensation he was owed was made when Canada repatriated him and allowed him to walk free once again.

The Liberals also claim they were fiscally prudent by settling with Mr. Khadr because $5 million had been spent on legal fees. No. The lawyers in the Department of Justice are salaried civil servants. They are getting paid whether they fight Mr. Khadr or not. Estimating and presenting their costs like this is pure politics.

Some commentators are trying to justify the $10.5 million payment by comparing it to cases like Maher Arar or famous wrongful conviction cases like David Milgaard. But Maher Arar was innocent and wrongfully detained by the Americans before being sent to a prison in Syria where he was abused. Mr. Milgaard served 23 years in a Canadian prison for a crime he did not commit. Courts and governments have compensated wrongfully accused Canadians, but Mr. Khadr was not wrongfully accused. Mr. Khadr murdered a US Army Medic.

The Liberals hope that all of this information confuses Canadians. But while the Charter of Rights and Freedoms is a cornerstone of our modern democracy, it is limited to Canada’s borders or the direct actions of the Canadian government. The Khadr family did not take their Charter rights with them when they were fighting in Afghanistan. The detention of Omar Khadr in Guantanamo Bay as an enemy combatant, while controversial, was not a violation of his Charter rights.

The Supreme Court found that Charter violations occurred on only 3 occasions when officials from the Chrétien and Martin governments visited Mr. Khadr in Guantanamo to question him. These visits, along with the sharing of information with the Americans, amounted to Charter violations because Mr. Khadr had been sleep deprived prior to the questioning. These visits were indeed in violation of the Charter, but I firmly believe the context of why Mr. Khadr was in detention must be considered alongside them.

If you would like to make your voice heard and tell Justin Trudeau and the Liberals that this does not represent Canadians or our principles you may add your name to and electronic petition here: https://petitions.ourcommons.ca/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-1194

Once again, thank you for taking the time to write in with your concerns regarding this issue. Please do not hesitate to do so again.

Sincerely,

Robert Sopuck, M.P.

The Spud dauphin can deflect responsibility for the next 3 years but it won’t help – he owns this national abomination, and it will make him either a one term wonder or the leader of a shaky minority lame duck government. People gave him a chance and he screwed them over.

Of the old guard I have said what I think of that greasy criminal Goodale. He honed his skills with ADSCAM and hasn’t skipped a beat since. Trudeau’s stupidity speaks for itself. Add in the liberal muslim brotherhood wing of caucus led by Omar Alghabra and toss in Soros and the Aga Khan, and cloudy pictures start to clear.

Trudeau was convinced he was saving a few bucks for Hillary. If that debacle isn’t a total joke.

At some point will we ever have an actual FUCKING ETHICS COMMISSIONER???? One that does their job. All government has lost its way.

Hi LIZA R…… good posts as usual. Thx

T P-Z…. Thx for all your hard work and info from your project. Keep it coming. Expose the rot and separate the chaff from the wheat. Scheer is talking tough, has anyone heard his reasoning on the whipped vote on the Paris “Climate” Accord? He had better be a pit bull on this one, cause that pissed me off.

Time to drain the supreme court swamp , that would be a starting point . Then all the Liberals .
If Trudeau wanted to pay him he could have used his trust fund .
I would rather be a arm chair expert than a brain dead Canadian voter any day .
The USA hasn’t figured out that Trudeau did it on the 4th of July to give them the finger on that day .

Rebels, this is what Freeland’s lackey, Jack Martin had to say in an e-mail, he says Khadr was tortured…what an imbecile and dishonest hack.

Dear Tammie,

Thank you for writing us to express your concerns about the Omar Khadr case. I want to assure you that we have heard your voice on this issue. We have heard from many constituents on both sides of this issue. Of course, these debates are taking place across every corner of our country.

We have heard from people that believe firmly that Mr. Khadr is a terrorist and a murderer, and from others who insist he was a child soldier forced into combat by his extremist family. Whatever your opinion is on that point, I must emphasize that the settlement does not deal with Mr. Khadr’s conduct, nor does it address his guilt or innocence. It deals only with the behavior of the Government of Canada.

The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that the Government of Canada was complicit in Mr. Khadr’s torture during his detention at Guantanamo Bay. The Court has also held that the federal government denied Mr. Khadr a fair trial and access to counsel, but instead chose to extract a confession through ‘enhanced interrogation’ measures that were in violation of the principles of fundamental justice. Mr. Khadr sued the federal government for $20 million in regards to this treatment.

Our government has a responsibility to uphold the Charter and defend the rights of Canadians – and we take that responsibility very seriously. Liberals will always stand up and fiercely defend the rights and freedoms of Canadians. Once we start picking and choosing which Charter rights to protect, and who should have those rights, the very fabric of our nation is weakened and we fall into the characteristics of states who oppress their own citizens and rule with impunity.

The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms protects all Canadians, every one of us, even when it is uncomfortable. When the government violates any Canadian’s Charter rights, we all end up paying for it – just as our allies in Australia and the UK. We are fortunate to live in a country where our rights are protected by the courts and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms – not subject to the whims of the government of the day.

Our government is committed to upholding the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Our men and women in uniform have fought to defend these Charter rights—and so will we.

Warm regards,

Jack Martin

Since when has any Liberal, especially Trudeau and his gang ever been, oh, so concerned about saving the taxpayers money? Pretty rich from the guy that ran on a pledge of a “modest” 10 billion dollar a year deficit which he blew by three-fold in a matter of a few short months. Even Trudeau’s most ardent supporters cannot be buying his latest line of B.S. But then again, he has convinced the State Broadcaster and Constant Trudeau Vision.

I will post Liberal responses by CPC MP’s. Hopefully, Hajdu’s is the only one.

Trudeau’s government do seem to think we are a nation of imbeciles, CBC and government propaganda office (PMO) is trying to figure out damage control strategies…especially now that American media is broadcasting this. There will be a flood of Trudeau photos with whoever circulating the msm here in Canada, be prepared to see his mug more than we already do!

A lot of people have very little understanding of who is Omar Khadr. His father fought with the Taliban and in 1982 he was injured fighting the Pakistan Army. Khadr’s parents made their way to Canada so Khadr Sr. could get the health care he needed to recover . They stayed and in 1986 Omar was born in Toronto . As a toddler Khadr spent as much time in Afghanistan and Pakistan as he did in Canada. His mother hated that he might be influenced by the West and later admitted she hated Western culture . ( The fact that she has been on welfare her entire time in Canada seems irrelevant ). At the age of 5 he was enrolled in an Islamic elementary school in Toronto . At the age of 10 his family left Canada and returned to Afghanistan . From the age of 10 until his capture at 15 years of age Omar Khadr lived in Afghanistan. There was never any plan to return to Canada . Had he been able to throw that grenade and get away we probably would never had heard from him. Omar Khadr is a Canadian of Convenience , nothing more .Even while in Canada as a child he did not participate in a world that could be called Canadian . His mother wanted Omar raised in an Islamic society which is why they returned to Afghanistan. Omar Khadr was in Afghanistan when Sept 11, 2001 occurred. He said his family were guests of Osama Bin Laden and I’m sure they celebrated that day. It would be another year of living in Afghanistan before the firefight that ended with his capture. Had he not been injured and captured I have no doubt that he would have been a member of ISIS . Too many people including all leftards think he was a child soldier and they also think he went over to Afghanistan at the age of 15 like it was a summer vacation of sorts. Their lack of understanding of Islamic culture doesn’t stop them from spouting off nonsense. Their @ss must be jealous of the shite that comes out of their mouths . Their defense of this guy is bizarre . Lenin had a label for people like that.

I will need help translating my letter, and e-mail lead-in when it’s time to send the Bloc copies. My written french is passable, but, I would like the letter to be absolutely correct (grammar and spelling).
Are there any Rebels who could do the translation for me?
