Prime Minister Trudeau was in Vancouver on Sunday, but not for the final leg of his cross Canada town hall tour. Instead, he staged a photo op and media appearance at the Vancouver Chinese Lunar Year Parade and Celebration, without taking media questions.
Of all places where there may be serious concerns from the public about the policies and decisions being implemented by our federal government, this is the one Trudeau doesn’t bother to make an appearance in?
I get it. The town halls haven’t been going very well and in BC, he could face criticism on two flanks - approval of the Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion and the cash for access scandal where there’s an appearance the Liberals are becoming far too close with China and Chinese state influence.
There were more Chinese officials present at the photo op as well. Watch as I give you a glimpse of Justin’s only public appearance in BC so far in 2017.
The tour was not only an attempt to show Trudeau was listening to Canadians and cares about us, it was an attempt to hide the fact this government has no idea what they are doing.
They’ve been completely thrown off by Trump’s election and the changing of the guard down south to a US government determined to be leaner, more business friendly, and nationalistic in its goals.
That’s a stark contrast to the globalist ambitions of Prime Minister Trudeau and his Liberal Party.
All of this ineptitude and trying to figure out how they’ll deal with Trump is why Trudeau embarked on this ill fated cross-country tour, but what did the Prime Minister and our government achieve, and why snub British Columbia, the province Trudeau says he’s a grandson of?
It appears the tour did nothing more than hurt his own poll numbers but the cash for access scandal and Trudeau’s desire for ever closer ties to Communist China may be more than he originally bargained for and may cost him more than just a few seats next election.
