Trudeau abandons war on terror, will end airstrikes against ISIS

Rebel Staff

And so it begins.

Justin Trudeau has confirmed he will withdraw Canadian CF-18 fighter jets from the international coalition air strikes against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Prime Minister-delegate Trudeau informed U.S. President Barack Obama of his decision to end Canada’s aerial engagement in the region shortly after leading his Liberal Party to victory in Monday’s general election.

In his first telephone conversation with President Obama, Trudeau informed the president that he would make good on his campaign pledge to withdraw Canadian jets from theatre.

“I committed that we would continue to engage in a responsible way that understands how important Canada has a role to play in the fight against ISIL, but he [Barack Obama] understands the commitments I’ve made around ending the combat mission,” Trudeau told reporters in Ottawa on Tuesday.

He has not yet provided a timescale for the withdrawal, however.

“We will be moving forward with our campaign commitments in a responsible fashion,” Trudeau remarked. “We want to ensure the transition is done in an orderly fashion.”

The ex-high school drama teacher has promised to provide humanitarian aid in Iraq and Syria and have the Canadian Armed Forces engage in training missions, not bombing operations.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest stated on Tuesday morning that outgoing Prime Minister Stephen Harper can also expect a call from Obama in the near future, according to the CBC.

“Our bilateral relationship has enhanced the security and prosperity of the American people and we certainly are appreciative of Prime Minister Harper’s efforts to strengthen that relationship, and we look forward to building on that kind of progress when Mr. Trudeau takes over the Prime Minister’s Office.”

Since the Fall of 2014, Canadian aircraft involved in the Canadian Armed Forces' contribution to the Middle East Stabilization Force (MESF), designated Operation Impact, have conducted 1637 sorties.

Canada's six deployed CF-18 Hornet fighter aircraft, one CC-150T Polaris aerial refuelling aircraft, two CP-140M Aurora surveillance aircraft and accompanying support elements have struck ISIS at its core. ISIS has reportedly lost the ability to operate freely in 25 to 30 per cent of populated areas of Iraqi territory it previously controlled.

Hey Terry Rudden… still “LOL” tonight?….

How can a left wing, pot smoker raised by a Marxist and a hippie in all good faith, see the atrocities that ISIS is doing to humanity and still call himself any kind of human rights advocate. The piles of decapitated heads along the road shocked the unshockable (me). The pilot burning alive in a cage had me seething with rage. The destruction of centuries old buildings and artifacts was unthinkable. If it was my call to send in the forces I would not only do so with conviction I would be leading them.

And what about our NATO requirements?

If we had followed Justin’s plan from the start the Kurdish Army would have had enough winter gear to leave their fighters in the field last winter and have prevented ISIL from making the advances that they did against them. Had Canadian Forces personnel been on the ground training forces fighting ISIL their forces would have withstood ISIL attacks and been better able to push back when they had the chances.
“Food is low, ammunition is low, and so is water. We have one piece of bread to share between 10 people. We have to walk 2km to get water. There were some AIR STRIKES yesterday [against the jihadists], but they have MADE NO DIFFERENCE.”
But delivering food ammo and water would have. How many Yazidi would we have help save if we had followed Justins plans instead of wasting out limited resources in the FLASHY BUT INEFFECTIVE bombing of ISIL?
CAF Fighter Command has been pushed to the limit with all aircraft and crews having done multiple tours in the “sand box”.
CAF Transport Command has fresh aircraft and crews and the USAF Transport Command has been push to it’s limits with the situations in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The USAF have many aircraft and crews that have not seen duty in the “sand box” and would/will have had no problem making up for the small role our few fighter aircraft played.
Harpers actions in this situation were wrong from the start and it would be stupid to continue them. Bombing is NOT WORKING. But training and supplying those who who will need to win the war on the ground will make a difference.

It’s nice so many Canadians voted this election, it’s unfortunate that so many sheep voted.. The world economy is in trouble.. Our economy is tied to so many other economies, which we have no control over. It’s unfortunate that CBC, Bell Media, which propagated lies at every opprutunity were able to sway so many sheep, that we’d toss an economist for a drama teacher, because he thinks he knows the Canadian economy … And what is the Canadian economy? Running an abnormally low dollar so Ontario manufacturing can be viable? Or maybe it’s letting certain eastern provinces get enough insurable hours to take the next 7 months off? Maybe it’s increasing transfer payments to Quebec to pay for day care, that no province can afford, let alone Quebec ?

While I’m complaining, I think fast tracking 25000 Syrians to Canada is bad. They walked past how many Muslim countries? Why didn’t they stop? Similar cultures? Same religion .. Yet they walked past all of those countries, demanding entry to Germany? Why? They don’t speak German? They arent Christian, yet it’s Christian countries being expected to take them.. why is that?

As for the niqab, how many muslim nations won’t allow it at government institutions? Well many.. Because they’re more knowledgable in dealing with extremism .. Take Turkey for instance.. Niqab is to be removed when dealing with government.. Yet here we put the individuals right before the rights of the people.. And if you haven’t been through the citizenship ceremony, how would your rights even apply? Your even not Canadian yet…

Lastly When I watch CBC or Bell Media, and I see women and children trying gain entry to Europe as refugees.. However when I go on utube and uh I see thousands of young men rampaging across Europe, throwing feces at the police of various nations.. I guess if Canadians were shown the truth, maybe people would open their eyes.. Btw I will no longer be watching either “news” broadcast.. This country needs an unbiased news agency.. The CBC will be getting new additional funding for supporting the liberals.. I’m not sure what bell gets, other than 1 less customer..

Maggie and Junior? That’s odd, where’s Junior’s wife in all of this? Or will Junior be moving mommy into 24 Sussex?
commented 2015-10-24 20:37:29 -0400
Can you imagine that the priorities within days of election are focused on fixing up 24 Sussex and spending a diving fortune of taxpayers money instead of a policy on terror. Justin isn’t moving into the official residence until the work is done on the residence or at least that is what his mommy Margaret told him to do because it was her that is getting the work done. I don’t recall in 239 years that the White House was ever vacated so that work could be carried out. Oh yes he definitely got priorities messed up. We need to keep an eye on Maggie she can be a wildcard here for sure.
commented 2015-10-24 20:31:44 -0400
we now have Maggy Pothead running Canada. Oh crap Justin’s mommy made comments that the bullying style comments about her little boy aren’t nice, can you imagine when that little boy goes to meet someone like Vladimir he will probably call him Mr. Poutine and not Prime Minister Poutin. Sorry Mr. Poutin.
commented 2015-10-24 20:26:46 -0400
It’s only a couple of days that this bird has been elected and what is in the news but his mommy miraculously showed up in media again telling the little boy that he needs to spend a fortune on renovating 24 Sussex Drive. His mommy also made a statement that she don’t like the bully style comments that people are making about her son. Holy shit, are we in trouble we got Jason’s mommy running the fucking country.

Hey Marty: the NDP, Libertarian Party, Bloc and Greens all campaigned against the bombing missions.

Hey Rudden and duh Silva, ‘60.53% of the electorate did NOT vote for Trudeau’.

Jason, sorry, your comment doesn’t appear to relate to anything I said.

Terry Rudden, Obama indeed put the internet under the control of the state. You might have missed how every Muslim attack in the US is called “workplace violence” or that Obama us funding the Iranian nuclear program to the tune of 100 billion dollars.

I am waiting to see what he does about other defense matters he was very vocally against during Parliament discussions. It will show where his priorities lie.

The “Conservative” party members who believed Harper actually “kept us safe” from Terrorism are out of their minds. The guy funded Al-Qaeda with taxdollars to overthrow Assad (and kill Christians). Then he promised thousands of “refugees” from the conflict they created.

Got news for you, Trudeau voted for C-51, has Bill Blair whispering him his police-state directives. Trudeau is gonna drop the phony “let’s get ISIS” airstrikes and be an outright donor… This is rather bold, to openly support the side of evil, not masquerade about what “ISIS” is to us… To now openly remove the guise of attacking our jihadi mercenaries, when in actuality, they perform the vicious bidding of Washington, London, and Ottawa.

In Ontario, we got a grocery store called “Metro”… And when they took over A&P and The Barn grocery stores, they just changed the billboards, the display cut outs, the uniforms, but the same shitty grocery stores were essentially there. This election has proved to be about the same thing. The neo-conservatives who feel Trudeau is abandoning the “war on terror” do have a lot more in common with him than I do… You both love giving tax-dollars to radical Muslims and bringing them here as “refugees”. You both love telling Canadians we can’t be trusted to carry for self-defense, as you approve of jihadis using automatic firearm in a violent foreign coup against a secular leader.
commented 2015-10-22 11:38:09 -0400
Something tells me that Trudeau will be happy to keep racking up CANADA CORP’s credit card for “moderate rebels”. Whatever “airstrikes” were being done by Harper were optics, they still want Assad gone, they still fund Al-Qaeda, and I’m pretty certain that Trudeau is in this camp also… Willing to provide “humanitarian aid” to the Sunni Muslims that Assad and Russia fight, unwilling to stand up and call other leaders out for the mayhem and destruction they’ve participated in.
commented 2015-10-22 10:59:07 -0400

Because Canadians are primarily liberal or center left. Even if one is a hard core fiscal conservative, they will still tend to be socially liberal. The Texas mindset of Alberta doesn’t reflect Canada as a whole.
commented 2015-10-22 10:27:47 -0400
He is not abandoning the war on terror. He is taking a more responsible long-term view of it. Instead of making us targeting by engaging in the bombing, he wil help to build local capacity so they can take care of things themselves.
commented 2015-10-22 10:17:01 -0400
And just to gently repeat one point that doesn’t seem to have registered: a large majority of Canadians voted for parties that promised to disengage from our our involvement in the bombing missions, including the Liberals. Trudeau is fulfilling a campaign promise, and (once again), one favoured by most Canadians, like it or not.

“Start brushing up on your survival skills, because you are going to need them! "
LOL. I remember several of the predictions that Tea Party paranoids in the US were making almost a decade ago after the election of Obama. FEMA was going to set up internment camps all over the US to imprison Republicans and other evil dissidents. Obama was going to have the Black Panthers replace the Secret Service as his personal bodyguard. Sharia Law would be declared the supreme law of the US.
He’d better hurry up. Just one year left.

@ Mickey Oberman – unfortunately it may very well take what you predict in order to open the eyes of spoiled, entitled, socialist Canadians who sit with their hand out – waiting for the governments of various levels to put money in that very same hand.

Money provided by working tax payers.

Never forget – you can only spend other peoples money until it runs out.
