Trudeau abandons war on terror, will end airstrikes against ISIS

Rebel Staff

And so it begins.

Justin Trudeau has confirmed he will withdraw Canadian CF-18 fighter jets from the international coalition air strikes against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Prime Minister-delegate Trudeau informed U.S. President Barack Obama of his decision to end Canada’s aerial engagement in the region shortly after leading his Liberal Party to victory in Monday’s general election.

In his first telephone conversation with President Obama, Trudeau informed the president that he would make good on his campaign pledge to withdraw Canadian jets from theatre.

“I committed that we would continue to engage in a responsible way that understands how important Canada has a role to play in the fight against ISIL, but he [Barack Obama] understands the commitments I’ve made around ending the combat mission,” Trudeau told reporters in Ottawa on Tuesday.

He has not yet provided a timescale for the withdrawal, however.

“We will be moving forward with our campaign commitments in a responsible fashion,” Trudeau remarked. “We want to ensure the transition is done in an orderly fashion.”

The ex-high school drama teacher has promised to provide humanitarian aid in Iraq and Syria and have the Canadian Armed Forces engage in training missions, not bombing operations.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest stated on Tuesday morning that outgoing Prime Minister Stephen Harper can also expect a call from Obama in the near future, according to the CBC.

“Our bilateral relationship has enhanced the security and prosperity of the American people and we certainly are appreciative of Prime Minister Harper’s efforts to strengthen that relationship, and we look forward to building on that kind of progress when Mr. Trudeau takes over the Prime Minister’s Office.”

Since the Fall of 2014, Canadian aircraft involved in the Canadian Armed Forces' contribution to the Middle East Stabilization Force (MESF), designated Operation Impact, have conducted 1637 sorties.

Canada's six deployed CF-18 Hornet fighter aircraft, one CC-150T Polaris aerial refuelling aircraft, two CP-140M Aurora surveillance aircraft and accompanying support elements have struck ISIS at its core. ISIS has reportedly lost the ability to operate freely in 25 to 30 per cent of populated areas of Iraqi territory it previously controlled.

Justin Water Hole’s first surrender to Islam is minor compared to the disaster that will befall Canada when he opens the floodgates to tens of thousands of potential Muslim terrorists.
I must presume he never watches the daily news unless it is about himself.
The horrors and atrocities being inflicted on those European and other countries including our southern neighbour by their Muslim residents may very soon be visited upon Canadians.

“60.53% of the electorate did NOT vote for Trudeau’.
The NDP, Libertarian Party, Bloc and Greens all campaigned against the bombing missions.

I am primarily referring to the television networks in Canada. All three are very left wing. I don’t expect things like newspapers to make a difference. And even if newspapers are at all statistically significant, there are still lots of left wing rags out there. That, and I somehow doubt that the Rebel has converted any leftists. If it hasI’d like to hear about it.

Going back to the original point. I think we need to look at why the tv news media is so left wing, and why people tolerate it.

Sam,

From the various conservative media sources in Canada and the many Canadian newspapers that endorsed the Conservative Party – not to mention the tons of conservative websites just like The Rebel.

If you read The Toronto Sun, you got endless articles that kissed Harper’s ass. The Toronto Sun isn’t some obscure or hard to find newspaper or website. Unless conservatives are dumber than I thought.

Of course the media played a role in determining how people vote. Where else are the voters going to get their information outside of debates and attack ads?

There is definitely a media bias in favour of the left. All the three major canadian networks lean to the left. At least the American right has FOX.

Marty,

They sure as shit didn’t vote for Harper.

I run Canada now.

Cowards will forever be elected by the left. The booming Liberal pot industry will thrive while Sharia law is introduced. Hilarious. As education in Muslim nations teach their children to kill the infidels, the education in Socialist nations teach their children to line up and respect those who would have their heads. The Jihadis can have all the Liberal heads they want as none have the sense to defend themselves. Hilarious.

What a shameful cur we now have for a P.M. The fight against ISIS is no less important that the fight against the Nazis. But Bouffant Boy believes that he can bring peace and love to the world, one retreat ant a time. He would be more at home in 1939 when he could refuse to fight his buddy Adolf. In this one move he has defamed the contribution of every service person who fought in Afghanistan and every service person who gave his life for the cause of freedom. His gal pals should be proud of him. What’s next for these stone aged women killers? A very strongly worded letter?

Peter,

NDP supporters are liberal/progressive – you don’t need to be a mind reader to figure out that they would prefer another liberal over Stephen Harper and the Conservatives – who they can’t fucking stand.

Jimmy said, “NDP voters are just fine with Trudeau over Harper”

Your propensity for speaking for other people never ceases to amaze me, Jimmy. I’m amazed at how arrogant you are to think you can speak for a group of people.

" It just doesn’t have the impact on people that you think it does "

Yes, your worship, you know all.

Good night, Jimmy.

Peter,

I am not ignoring anything about the media. It just doesn’t have the impact on people that you think it does – it’s an excuse and a crutch that conservatives use to explain why you lost, because you don’t have the balls to admit that maybe Canadians weren’t happy with Harper.

If Canadians were living wonderful, prosperous lives – what the media has to say would be irrelevant, because people like to be happy and enjoy having money, so they can live.

Of course there are conservative media sources in Canada and many Canadian newspapers endorsed the Conservative Party – but of course, you ignore all of that.

It’s also hilarious that you all say that no one watches the CBC and that is among the reasons why it needs to be defunded, but then you blame the CBC for Harper’s loss.

Make up your fucking mind.

“Trudeau is doing whatever his Muslim String Pullers tell him to.”
You do realize that he promised to do this during the campaign, right? and that he won?
commented 2015-10-21 21:49:39 -0400
Peter,

If there was no NDP, Trudeau would have received that vote as well, so your entire point is moot – liberals were just covering their bases to get rid of Harper. NDP voters are just fine with Trudeau over Harper – despite preferring Mulcair and it would have been the same if Mulcair won over Trudeau.

It was win/win for liberals and a guaranteed loss for Harper and the Conservatives – who turned Canada into America Jr. Specifically Texas.

Jimmy said, “he took Harper down and Canadians couldn’t be happier right about now along with the Jays so far.”

And here’s the part you are too stupid to understand … ONLY 39.47% COULDN’T BE HAPPIER

You are as dense as a doorknob!
commented 2015-10-21 21:19:15 -0400
Jimmy, you consistently came on here reminding all of us how many people did NOT vote for Harper. Suck it up.

Jimmy,
Trudeau is doing whatever his Muslim String Pullers tell him to. He dose not have the brains to make a decision of his own. Canada has just become a traitor Nation. Anything to keep his Muslim Brothers happy.

Dale,

I misspoke and was just responding to Glenn’s comment – but nonetheless, we shouldn’t be there IN ANY CAPITICY.

I love that you idiots keep bringing up percentages. What does it matter – when you fucking lost big time? Do you understand the difference between being Prime Minister and no longer being the Prime Minister? Do you understand the difference between a minority and a majority government?

I don’t care if Trudeau won by a single vote – he took Harper down and Canadians couldn’t be happier right about now along with the Jays so far.

Bravo, I agree with you on the points you made on why Canada should pull out of the conflict in Syria and Iraq, but I just cannot ignore the fact we are seeing another cultural genocide going on over there. Why isn’t anyone calling out our new PM when he was quoted saying “never again” when he spoke at a holcoust ceremony several months ago. I just have to wonder what he meant by that comment? The progressives in this country are hoping someone else will do the dirty work and they will just add another section to the Human Rights Museum in Winnipeg of the ISIS victims, because thats what Canada will be good at, building monuments for the dead, that will be Canada’s contribution. History will judge the actions of this new PM of what he did on the world stage when it comes to facing the evils of radical Islam. This could be a defining moment of his legacy. We will have to see how this is going to play out.

Jimmy da clueless . . . nobody sent any troops . . .
Saw Justin on Tuesday saying he told Obama they were going to stay . . . Obama will make the CALL Jimmy. After all it was his campaign team that helped to elect the Dummy from Montreal.
But all that aside . . . it no longer matters anyway . . . the Russians are there now, and the ISIS cowards are shaving their beards and heading for Turkey to join the Euro Invasion. I wonder how many of them Justin will bring to Canada by Christmas ? Likely NONE wil be vetted . . . not the liberal way . . .
By the way Jimmy . . . margin of victory was less than 8% . . . almost 61% did not want Trudough . . .
39% of Canadians voted for the American Idol dunce !
commented 2015-10-21 20:22:14 -0400
Glenn,

I am glad that you agree that sending our troops was wrong and Justin is actually making the right decision here.
commented 2015-10-21 20:15:11 -0400
And that 39.47% took down The Conservatives – when everyone here was convinced that Lord Harper would win another majority and you were actually more worried about the NDP, since you all thought that Justin got killed in the debates AND he was in last place.

Bravo Zulu : Only question I have for you is why you think the Kurds hate us? What real news I did get was their biggest issue was with the attitude some of our volunteers displayed while fighting alongside them in Kobane. So far I have heard praise for CSOR, and praise for our air support. I can only assume it could be because they see through Obama’s nonsense as well and could be taking it out on CSOR over there if I were to make a guess.

Jason Bertucci said, “To be fair, Deborah, the combined left did get 60% of the votes.”

Jason, “the combined left” is not a valid combination. The NDP and Liberals would not work together. They are not a “homogeneous” group. It would just as valid to the the combined 60.53% that we have now. The NDP will not work with the Conservatives to make a combined group.

That was always the logical flaw when the lefties claimed in 2011 that 60.48% did not vote for the Conservatives, as if you can group all the other parties into one “kumbya-holding-hands-we-all-get-along-because-we-are-all-leftwing” group. First past the post.
