Justin Trudeau won. What now?

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Justin Trudeau just won a majority government. Get ready for the pain.

He promised to raise taxes, raise spending and put our country back into debt.

He vowed to kill the Northern Gateway pipeline and to bring in new carbon taxes.

He said he'd abandon our military mission against ISIS terrorists, and take in 25,000 Syrian migrants by Christmas.

Do you doubt he’s going to do it?

His ideas will be a disaster. Government will grow. Personal freedom will shrink. Our national security will be weakened. And our foreign policy will tilt far left. Trudeau is the candidate who said he admires China for its “basic dictatorship”, and promises to normalize relations with Iran.

And who’s going to stop him?

The political left controls most provincial legislatures and the courts. Every university and NGO pushes to the left.

But the worst is the mainstream media. For nine years, they weren’t just watchdogs — they were mad dogs. I called it “Harper Derangement Syndrome”.

Well, after watching the media's pro-Liberal bias in this campaign, do you doubt that they’re about to become Trudeau's lapdogs?

So who will hold the Liberal government to account? Who will shine a light of public scrutiny on what Trudeau does — his fan club at the CBC?

The Sun News Network is gone. The National Post is in disarray. The Conservative Party itself will now be consumed with a divisive leadership race.

So who will be the people’s opposition?

I think a lot of that responsibility falls to us, here at The Rebel.

I promise we will keep the fires burning during the next four years. We’ll hold Trudeau to account. We’ll do a bit of everything — news reports; conservative commentary; we’ll be a conservative “think tank”; and when necessary, we’ll be activists too.

We’ve already started. As you know, we finished building our TV studio on Friday afternoon — and we used it for the first time tonight, broadcasting a live election results show for more than two hours. We had a few first-time jitters, but it was pretty good for our inaugural show. We’ll get better the next time, and even better the time after that.

So let me put it another way: the fight-back starts now.

In the next few days, when you’re talking to your friends and family, and people ask who will stand up for them and their values, point them to us, at www.TheRebel.media. And tell them to join our fight for Canada.

Yours truly,

Ezra Levant

P.S. Do you know what Kathleen Wynne has done to Ontario, and Rachel Notley is doing to Alberta? Trudeau is going to do that to Canada. It’s terrible. But we’ve got to keep our sense of humour. Click here to buy our new T-shirts and bumper stickers that say, “Don’t blame me, I voted Conservative”!

“The debt you speak of with Trudeau is actually supposed to help Canadians. "
I see Jimmy never studied economics, but then again he voted for a man that said “the budget will balance itself”.

Jimmy I agree sometimes you have to borrow money to make money and that is why Harper put us in the debt he was criticized for (also at the urging of both the other major parties) but his approach was to try and avoid the insane debt that we see the U.S. and other governments going into because we are not some third world country who can have a measly few million dollars written off by philanthropic benefactor. Eventually the flow of money will stop and they won’t lend any more and that is when it will hit the fan. Unlike earlier decades we don’t have a gold reserve to fall back on and printing money to pay back the debt is the same as defaulting on a loan. These debts we incur have real consequences. Just look to Greece. The people were told you will have to work a few more years and for a while they were only able to withdraw a limited amount of money out of their banks. Do you really think reckless spending has no consequences? And I don’t think raiding the U.I. to balance the budget is fair no matter which party does it unless it is to provide training for labourers.

Western canada separating? I remember there being a time when it was Alberta that wanted to separate. Considering the reversal of fortunes, I would say it’s Saskatchewan that wants to get the hell out more than anybody. You know there’s something wrong when Saskatchewan has to fork over equalization payments. I would hate to see the money that comes from exporting wheat go to Quebec daycare, maritime EI, or helping Manitoba deal with all the kids in the custody of the system. Nobody here in Winnipeg makes fun of Regina any more.

The debt you speak of with Trudeau is actually supposed to help Canadians. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money. That’s different than just running things into the ground and going into debt in that capacity.

No one is talking about the 18 trillion dollars of debt, because it will never be paid off. America won’t be paying off their debt either. Certainly not in our lifetime or our children’s lifetime. In this day and age, a country has to run on debt unfortunately.

I think most people have just accepted that debt is just a number and it won’t be paid off to any great degree by either country. And why should they really – no one is coming to break our legs for the money.

Well you will never have a political party that you will be 100% happy with. Ultimately you did have your 10 years, because you were more than happy to vote them in again.

@jimmydasilva I am being very gracious and honest. I honestly pity whatever party is in power whn it hits the fan and I honestly would prefer the liberals are in power when we can no longer manage the $300 Billion plus debt. The Conservatives didn’t cause that mess but I guarantee if they are in power they will get the blame for it. Trudeau despite criticizing Harper for putting us in debt says he is going to have 3 more deficits. Makes me wonder how if it was wrong for Harper to put us in debt that somehow it’s OK for him, but that is the nature of fickle politics and there is some degree shared guilt in this issue south of the border. They are 18 Trillion dollars in debt and no one is even talking about how they plan to pay it back. The down side of our democracy is people bribe us with our own money and then stick us with the tab. If I have no confidence in Justin Trudeau it’s because his policy of blaming Harper for debt while promising to put us deeper is a contradiction people seem comfortable to ignore. I really hope I am wrong but sorry if I have seen far to many empty promises. I saw a clip in a movie once. Not sure how historically accurate it was however it was good cinema. In the movie Abe Lincoln of Illinois the President had just won the election and rather than being celebratory he was bummed out. When asked what’s the matter his response was he now had to go and keep all the promises his people had been making in his name. I can’t help of think of that whenever I hear the money being doled out at election time.

Troll says, “you had your ten years, now its our turn”.

I didn’t have my ten years, I saw tyranny from the Conservatives, they funded Al-Qaeda in Syria, flooded Canada with terrorists, it was horrifying.

Now the “liberals” swoop in to say we already had our fun, it’s their turn now. Doesn’t matter the party anymore, they’re all owned, we are captured by climate change opportunists.

When it costs four cents to mint a penny, they “ban” the penny… A cost-saving measure, so they can focus on the important things like $800 million for “Syrian civil war” and “moderate rebels”.

Maybe we should bring back the penny, an all-copper commemorative “moderate rebels” design.

If the Western Provinces are gonna separate, now is the time to do it. Just be sure the separation isn’t brokered by Brad Wall (globalist tool). Wildrose forming a new country out West would be a blessing from God.

Who gives a fuck? How does that help Harper or The Conservative Party?

Justin is Prime Minister and The Liberals are running Canada now.

I am sure your statistics won’t make Harper or the voted out Conservatives feel better as they join the unemployment line.
commented 2015-10-21 00:11:01 -0400
Since the Liberals and NDP complained so bitterly and loudly about the statistics after Harper’s win, is it not fair play that we should now do the same?

Hey Jimmy. Trudeau ONLY RECIEVED 39.5% of the vote that means 60.5 % WERE AGAINST TRUDEAU!!!!

19 hours ago – Federal election results 2015 Justin Trudeau’s Liberals to form majority … of the new total of 338 seats — with 39.5 per cent of the popular vote.

I really think that the Rebel.Media Party played a valuable part in Canadian democracy these past weeks. Issues were raised and discussed here that were not raised elsewhere. By being outspoken and unique, the Rebel gives a voice to a certain segment of real Canadians. Ultimately I think the electorate was able to make a clear choice because the choices had been made so clear.

Who has divided Canadians now Mr. Trudeau? You were accusing Mr. Harper of using every opportunity to divide us when it’s you who has. What about the middle class Mr. Trudeau, when you were asked to define the middle class you couldn’t answer the question, because you did not know, but then you went on the attack that our PM was destroying it when in fact the middle class was the richest it’s ever been amongst the G7. You lied your way through everything & now you’re the designated Prime Minister & I for one will find it very difficult to address you as such. You won because of the hatred for Mr. Harper in the east & for no other reason, certainly not for your intelligence or savoir faire.. I hope you will not destroy our country like your Obama crony destroyed America, but I won’t be holding my breath.

To Firoz Khan. What nationality are you? And do you reside in Ontario? And what is your education level? And what religion do you belong too? And last but not least was your refugee boat an dingy, a raft, your wife and kids, and did you only have a life jacket like so many of the other men in your refugee boat? And does your sister live in Ontario? And how much free money do you receive from the government for housing, living, and does your parents get free old age pension for living in Canada for 1 year. If so can you please let me know what country your from so I can ask for refugee status their as a white person and see if they give the same treatment and hospitality as my country does where I was born and raised. And didn’t need to sign any papers like you with that name for Canadian status. Please reply in kind with this information so we can compare notes. Thank you and have a wonderful day from your hard working conservatives.

Why did I say fuck? Because I enjoy using that word.

If Justin is horrible, then Canadians can vote him out. For now, I am incredibly happy as are millions of other Canadians to finally get rid of Harper and hopefully Canada will go back to the way it used to before Harper got his hands on the country.

You had 10 years – now it’s our turn.
commented 2015-10-20 19:36:08 -0400
Dear Jimmy Da Silva. First question I have is why did you swear at someone and say the F word. Was that Canadian like? And also one thing people are forgetting. 39.5 % voted for Trudeau. They say the amount of people that are eligible to vote in Canada is around 26.4 million. So first off Trudeau has already got off on the wrong foot. He unfortunately does not speak for all Canadians just 39.5%. See he is already proving his inexperience as a leader. That’s a fact. Also yes as Canadians we have to see what he does. Will he keep his promises. Probably not. No politician does. So to all liberals that voted in Trudeau. I will say congrats. People got what they wanted. But what if just what if the liberals don’t live up to promises and actually make canada harder to live in by raising your family. Then can I ask what will you say. Because remember you liberals blame Harper for spending. And the liberals are going to spend upwards of 60 billion and what if it fails then what. Who do you blame. I’m going to say it right now. October 20-2015. The U.S. Will be in recession going into 2016 or at beginning of 2016. When they do. The whole 8 years of obamas reign was change. Then Canadians will see that the U.S. Theory of soending to recove does not work and that’s what Canadians voted in to try and work here. Let me ask all you on here. Does spending money get you out of debt? Correct me if I’m wrong. Saving money and paying off your debt makes you better off not spending. When have you seen a person person lots of money and be debt free. Usually spending means you go deeper in debt. To Ontario people. Have you people looked at your home prices soaring. Let’s say with the liberals spending it Causes bank of canada to raise interest rates a bit. Considering your home prices are out of control do you think your
Mortgage get cheaper if interest rates rise. No. So you are gambling with your own province and livelihoods. And if the country spends more money. We will ha e Caused our own currency to be worthless. And here is example. You liberals spend lots of money. Don’t pay down the debt. Can’t pay your interest on the debt. It’s called
You declare bankruptcy Because the liberals will never have any intention of paying off the debt they r wanting to add. The liberal party will set canada on the same path Obama and the fed reserve has done to the states. With 4.5 trillion dollar debt with no desire to pay it back. And if you try to say America is doing good with unemployment at 5.1. Here is your facts. It’s false that’s called U3 unemployment not true u employment It’s called U6 unemployment which is abve 10%. It’s a fact look it up. So the U.S. Has no recovery their economy is tanking and its only a matter of time before it comes out. And to everyone supporting liberals and Trudeau. Let’s say in next election canada is in the toilet and doing worse and even worse. Then what will you say and blame. See voting is called freedom of speech. It’s Canadians that vote parties in. And if that party fails Canadians have to take the responsibility for it because they voted them in. The moment Canadians start educating themselves. And look at history they may start to understand how the world is working and how they can actually make it so government works for them. But government never will because life is suppose to have some successful people in it and suppose to have failures in it. That is what we call survival of the fittest. World is not meant to be equal Unfortunately Canadians. The liberals will harm the middle class more and worse then what it is. You can get mad at me and say whatever you want. Just revisit this in 4 years and let’s see what has happened.

Canada is on the verge of changing but it’s not for the good. We are reliving the 90s. Where western Canada is blue and eastern Canada is red. Same song and dance. Trudeau is not for uniting canada. The east and west do not and never will get along.
commented 2015-10-20 19:14:47 -0400
Global news tonight summed up Trudeau’s win in one sentence from the Daily Mail’s front page – “No other leader in the world is as sexy.” Well done, Canada. Dumb as a bag of hammers.

What’s next? As someone who has lived through several Liberal Regimes, wage earners are in deep trouble! White employed males in particular are going to be tax raped like there is no tomorrow! It has happened before and will happen again as the Liberals try to shore up their support by catering to every special interest group from the Tamil Tigers to the latest “refugee” group from the middle east curiously comprised mainly of military aged young men! Hunker down, hone your survival skills, and brace for inevitable hurt. This is how I survived previous Liberal Regimes! I suspect many of those who voted for the Lieberals never have had to survive on their skill sets for survival and think everything is to be handed to them….“entitled to their entitlements”!

My God, I can’t stand it anymore. All this crap with Harper and Ezra “fearmongering” spreading "fear"an era of “fear”. What the hell is the matter with you morons. Every night we see a new atrocity committed by ISIS. Men drowned in metal cages with mikes attached so the sounds of their deaths come loud and clear. Germany losing its shit entirely – overrun with able bodied men or “refugees” who pee and shit wherever they happen to be and constantly demand money. And that putz Justin is going to bring 25,000 of them here. Fear??? Not the left – Islamists are all relative to Christians. The same.

But we will soon be inundated with the one thing we should fear according to the left – climate change. Has Canada gone insane?? Or are we so enamored of a celebrity Kardashian style Trudeau that we are about to be terrified of weather.
commented 2015-10-20 18:17:19 -0400
Ezra, your opposition to Liberal is well known. What you have written in your article is fear spreading. Mr. harper did this for nearly Two months before elections and yet failed miserably to convince Canadians. Canadian have said loud and clear that no more fear mongering. Are you trying to finish Harper’s unfinished work. The era of semi-dictatorship is over. please accept this fact. The sooner the better. Thanks.

Social media boosted the Libs to a win. Many said they voted for Trudeau after talking a selfie with him. I would be embarrassed to say that. I had to turn off the TV when he made his speech & couldn’t read the newspaper slobbering either.
Jimmy….Justy will not be a great PM. We will become the laughing stock & everything Mr. Harper worked so hard for will go down the toilet. Be prepared for taxes of every kind, liberal judges, refugees galore & a big deficit & debt. Wow, this will be very exciting for you Jimmy.
commented 2015-10-20 17:39:37 -0400
EZRA; you are still spreading fear??? wow….. you are extremely immature…

accept the fact that liberals won and instead of using all your energy on false propaganda and fear mongering…. perhaps find ways to work with government with open mind….

Trudeau’s father drove a sports car to the parliament building when his old man was Prime Minister. All the girls in my office at the time thought Pierre was so cool! I could not stand Pierre. Pierre gave his finger to the farmers many a time! Pierre hated America and America knew it! Under Justin’s father, Canada was under “darkness” and the unemployment rate was high! I hope there is something left of Canada that looks like Canada when that Trudeau is sent “packing”. I really believe J. Trudeau will be out in one term like Premier Notley in Alberta especially after Albertan’s hears how big her first budget will be on October 27th. That is why the Liberals worked so hard to get the youth vote out. The liberals know the young don’t really know any issues except smoking drugs, looking at girls and chasing them and then maybe studying! Most youth would vote for a young person before they would vote for a older man! That is why the Liberals made such a push for the youth vote. The youth don’t know nothing about issues and couldn’t care less. Just know there is going to be a huge debt!

“The political left controls most provincial legislatures and the courts. Every university and NGO pushes to the left.”
So do most Canadians. Conservatives are a relatively small subset of the whole, and that number shrinks every year due to shifting demographics. “Big Tent” politics is the Right’s only hope, and that means cutting it out with the constant adversarial attitude. It’s NOT Them-vs-us. We’re all Canadians, time to work together.
commented 2015-10-20 15:04:55 -0400

Jimmy you definitely have nerve demanding over and over again that conservatives should be gracious. I refer to your post on another article : “You can think whatever you want – why should I care – Liberals run Canada now.” You have proven time and time again that you are nothing but an intolerant bigot and racist. You have no right to demand anything of anyone. You were a sore loser prior to the election and now you are an obnoxious winner. So please take a very long walk on a very short pier.
