Costume double standard: Oilers player finds out when dressing like Trump is offside

David MenziesMission Specialist

Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid got cross-checked by progressives over his Halloween costume when he and his girlfriend dressed up as Donald Trump and wife Melania.

Even if Trump was the second coming of Genghis Khan, how does dressing as a villain make the person donning the costume villainous?

And if dressing up as Trump is verboten, then why can lefty nutbars do it, as some did in February when a group in Toronto calling themselves the “Peeved Beavers” donned Trump wigs to protest The Bay for selling Ivanka Trump designer dresses?

The rule seems to be that it’s only socially acceptable to don a Trump costume to mock the President.

Once again, hypocritical progressives seem to be making up the rules as they go when it comes to freedom of expression.

- Bunch of snowflakes looking for something to be offended over.

Drew; I would contribute to that cause.

Can’t we just pick a country for all the SJW’s to live in and ship them there, let them live their bleak sad lives away from others who actually have a bit of fun once in a while.

Isn’t it time all the PC SJWs just grew up?

Where is the outrage about Pillory Clinton claiming that she will be dressing up as the president for Halloween? That would mean putting on a Trump outfit. How about her dressing up like Donna Brasile – now, would that be controversial? Or does she get a pass?

Hey I heard Hillary participated in Halloween as well. She also dressed up as the President.

Bunch of whiny snivelling momma’s kids who have nothing better to do.

No use telling them to grow up, it won’t happen.

I am enjoying the fact that Progressivist-Sodomites want MacDavid to be fired from the Oilers over this.

I’m sure moving him to the Dallas Stars will secure many years of top-notch performance, not to mention keeping the Stanley Cup in America, where it belongs.

American Manifest Destiny. Don’t fight the inevitable.

Ah yes…when it comes to the Svengali hypnotic charm of mega wealthy patriarchs… groupies and gold diggers are just so naieve and gullible that they need to be chaparoned by lesbians lest they be grabbed by the pussy.

I wonder how long these social justice warriors have to pause to figure out what does this mean and are we offended or not?

“Progressives” war on Halloween is a shallow exercise, much like the outrage campaigns that crop up on a daily basis. Social Justice Jerks are a dime a dozen!

McDavid & his girlfriend should reuse their costumes next year and keep the MAGA declaration.

I’m reminded of the rodeo clown who one time wore an Obama face mask.
Sadly, I don’t think he ever worked again.

Good for McDavid. What a refreshing change from a grovelling apology.
More balls and common sense in his response than we get from anywhere else. Let’s hope all the quivering jellyfish out there take note.
