Trump’s “ham-fisted announcement” aside, debate about immigration long overdue

Michael CampbellRebel Contributor

There's one fact about U.S./Mexican border fence that might surprise you, and puts the controversy into a whole new light.

It reveals that we have to look beyond partisan grandstanding, and have a long overdue discussion about refugees, border security and immigration to the West.

There is a sound economic argument to be made for increasing immigration.

In fact, President Trump may have to increase it in order to implement some of his other policies.

WATCH as I explain why.

I think it’s time for your economic analysis of the cost and effect of migrants from the US.
There are 11+million illegals in the US. What if the floodgates open since Trudeau has pronounced an “open border” policy by way of his unrestricted “welcome” statement?
What if 10,000 come over the non-winter months?
100,000?
God forbid, 1,000,000?

Immigrants and refugees, we seem to be taking them in at break neck speed. How many of them is enough? Because we are losing jobs in Canada, there is all kinds of skilled labor looking for employment but we continue to accept more Parasitic Welfare Recipients. Even the midnight border jumpers coming across to Manitoba. Who couldn’t determine they were going to be in the cold and need gloves and warm clothing so they got severe frostbite and lost the use of their hands and now won’t be able to work. And where these guys came from they’re considered rocket scientists I’m sure. This, after living in the northern part of the USA during winter. Yes all the goody two shoes, Canadian left wingnuts, want to take more refugees, just for the sake of them virtue signalling, showing how Trudeau like accepting we are, how we bend over and take it in the ass if necessary to demonstrate how NOT racist we are. It’s quite acceptable to celebrate your own culture and demand people coming here are going to conform to our ways, not have us adopt their ways and conform to their demands. We are welcoming people who show no tolerance and effectively use our ethnic, racial and religious tolerance against us to get what they want. A lot of changes need to happen or it Will be the inevitable end of civilization.

Ezra. You need to teach this gent that we need little immigration going forward. We can tough out the high cost of the seniors boom. In fact, I’d say it’s a good thing, as like all creative destruction, this will force us to rid ourselves of wasteful spending and, improve efficiencies, and generally get creative and innovative. Necessity is often the mother of invention!

What we need is selective immigration. The one’s that can contribute heavily to our benefit. I find it ironic, that even Lefty politicians and economists call for more ppl, all the while demanding we “de-populate” the planet. Typical Lefty Psychosis. Just walking bags of contradiction!

I have cursed immigrants since 1953 or 1954 as all they did was try to take jobs from Canadians and cheat on welfare
Since as far back as PET a Canadian family has had to have both husband and wife work to pay for the mismanagement of the government of the day when the wife should have been home raising a child or two
Mike Campbell does not know what he is talking about most of the time also when his brother was wrecking British Columbia he did not criticize him
If a town has ten job opportunities and thirty unemployed applying for one of those jobs and the government allows ten immigrants to settle in the town and apply for said jobs who in their right mind would argue that would benefit the community or country

Here’s a radical idea:
There are a lot of women (mostly poor) who have abortions for financial reasons. How about offering them, say, $10,000 to have the baby and give it up for adoption? The adoptive parents would pay the $10k (in many cases this is cheaper than invitro-type methods) plus the gov’t vetting fees so there is no cost to taxpayers.
There are over 80,000 abortions in Canada every year. If half of those fetuses are born and adopted out, that’s 40,000 less immigrants per year (theoretically).

Immigration only fuels the genocide machine that Western civilization has become for it’s own indigenous and native peoples. We must make our survival a priority or die.

Oh yeah,
What a surprise – the banker likes mass immigration. No Surprise there. More globalist scum.

Immigration yes. Non-vetted welfare seekers, No!

Liza,
Japan actually is an economic basket case.
Nevertheless,
They have chosen national unity and to weather the storm on their own terms, instead of open borders, mass migration cultural suicide. I admire them.
Tough times are ahead for Japan, they are in the same boat we are with respect to population replacement. Our countries are going through a natural “contraction” due to birth control and the fact we are intelligent enough only to bear children we can financially support.
The difference is, when it’s all said and done – Japan will still be Japan, and Canada will be an unrecognizable shitheap of “diversity” with zero cultural cohesion.

How about we end immigration and take the savings from this program and give families tax breaks so they can have larger families. Our taxes are so fucking high because we have to pay for immigration and all of the Liberal virtue signaling. Time for a revolution.

..what Karan Singh said.

@ Karan Singh, “You can’t ride to prosperity on the back of immigration.
Michael Campbell, I’m sorry to say but it’s just another call for open borders in disguise. In the words of economist Kenneth Boulder (University of Colorado) “anyone who thinks we can continue population expansion is either an economist or a madman.””

Even If I swallowed the excuses virtually all politicians give us about the necessity to bring in immigrants to fill jobs, it’s mostly about more money to keep the big machine running. Government is never willing to be smaller and spend smarter. They want more immigrants to keep their wallets padded, to garner votes, develop more programs so they can hire more civil servants, as well as become more entangled in our lives.
We have lots of Canadians to train for jobs before we bring in plane loads of immigrants a month from anywhere, let alone only Islamic countries, or allowing entry to those who are now unable to enter the U.S. As was mentioned, there is a very large pool of immigrants from which to choose, from around the globe. Why don’t we choose wisely, and only move ahead if and when it is determined to be beneficial to Canada. We are bringing in immigrants at the expense of Canada, not for the benefit of Canada. Mass immigration is a fast track to extinction for us. Politicians don’t want to listen to reason because it would mean extinction to many of them. “More and more people are needed for the economy, as if the economy was something to be served instead of the other way around.” (quote from link below)

Billy Howard I have been interested in understanding how Japan manages to do it as well. In 50 years Japan will still be Japan. Our children won’t be able to say the same about Canada.

Michael Campbell, to call President Trumps announcement ‘ham-fisted’ proves you do not know of what you speak.
I do not agree with your assessment of President Trump and with your solutions.

Declining population aside, we DO NOT NEED MUSLIM MIGRANTS IN CANADA.
Billy Howard suggested a very good alternative. However we must first get rid of JT.

In response to BILLY HOWARD:
Solution: How about making the continuity of life a national priority and fixing the West’s self-genocidal sub-replacement birth rates?
commented 2017-02-08 16:44:52 -0500
Why does Canada need hundreds of thousands of useless migrants, who only want to get free benefits (and are out to destroy democracy), with such ridiculously high rates of unemployment all across Canada? Makes no sense at all. Canada should be putting some kind of ban on the free abortion on demand (kill our innocent Canadian babies and bring in all kinds of weirdos from other countries to make foreign babies) give our jobs to Canadians who are already here. Bringing in an over abundance of immigrants is burdening everything in Canada and causing more unemployment, making our health care much worse than it’s ever been, giving Canadians less in all benefits and I could go on and on. No, this immigration to build our country is a fallacy, a UN idea to turn us into another third world country, for what purpose …. I don’t know, but I sure wish more whistleblowers would step forward.

In response to Brett…
Solution: open our borders to Caucasian refugees from Europe and other countries where the Islamist takeover has forced them to flee oppression and loss of freedoms.
Of course JT would never allow that, but perhaps the next Cons PM might, or maybe a separate Western Canada where the term “Western” means more than just geography = western values.
commented 2017-02-08 16:23:31 -0500
Michael Campbell: “Falling birth rates mean that Western countries, including Canada, need immigrants to help grow the economy which, in turn, supports our communities and social programs.”

So Michael Campbell believes the solution to the West’s sub-replacement birth rates is to supplant the dying White populations with immigrants which will “support” the continued economic and demographic decline of the White population until they no longer exist.

Take your Globalist White genocide solution and shove it Campbell.

Great to see Michael Campbell joining theRebel crew.
On immigration: I’d like to hear how countries like Japan that has negligible immigration (but a lot of temporary foreign workers) can still maintain a 1st world standard of living with minimal GDP growth. What’s wrong with having a stagnant-growth 1st world economy as long as the standard of living remains high? I’m not saying NO to immigration, just wondering why we need to have such a high per-capita intake compared to other limited-immigration countries.
Especially looking forward to Michael’s commentaries on Trudeau economics, new NAFTA, and other tax/economics issues.

Would Canada be a safe 3rd country if we adapt any form of Sharia law? We take asylum & refugee claimants who flee it’s oppression. Come to Canada, you will be safe until….

During 70’s & 80’s when American population stood at 225 million & Canada’s 25 million, these 2 countries were considered among the most developed, economically independent & prosperous countries, its citizens enjoyed the highest quality of life on planet. This was the age when there was little to nil immigration to these countries, everything was created/invented, developed, manufactured & run by indigenous population.
Now, in 2017 with US population at 325 & Canada at 36 million respectively, how come we still need more immigration for economic prosperity & development? It isn’t making any sense.
As we are told constantly the indigenous population is aging and replacement is needed; massive immigration will only be a short term solution which will produce more negative results and may prove counteractive to society & economy than any real benefits. Nation or it’s economy build on immigration will never last for long, for a nation/society to thrive it has to generate & utilize it’s own resources which must include its indigenous population. You can’t ride to prosperity on the back of immigration.
