Trump's vow to fix a broken immigration system has "struck a nerve"

Brian LilleyArchive

There's no doubt Donald Trump has struck a nerve on the important issue of illegal immigration by making it clear that he knows the system isn't working and something must be done.

He's been blasted by the political class and the scolds in the main-stream media for comments he's made but regular Americans are responding well to his populist message on a problem they've been complaining about for decades. It seems what matters to Americans is that Donald Trump is speaking plainly about an issue they care about and if nothing else, he's forcing the media to speak about it too whether they want to or not.

Americans should give Donald Trump a chance to become President. He can’t be any worse than Obama.

we need a Trump here because no one is speaking about the suicidal immigration/refugee/sponsorship/illegal system we have here in Canada along with our outdated Charter and Constitution- oh and the lefty, politically correct apologists.

The issues and the scale are VERY different but … Rob Ford anyone? Remember what the polls were saying on his run up to election day? ON election day? What about Alberta? Who saw that coming? Strange things can happen when the silent majority gets truly pissed off. I don’t see the Donald getting sworn in after the next election but Brian is dead right. The issue is in play for real now. No more hiding from it by ANY party.

All due respect. Let them figure it out. I have to find a way to delete campaign ads from Engage Canada. Lies. We have the same issue here and it’s looming. Let’s focus on that. Restoring a Conservative government. Help?

The point is Fox News is conservative or didn’t you know that. If they are willing to concede that Trump has no well in hell of becoming President – instead of pretending like he actually has a shot like the morons here think he does, do you think their position is probably accurate? Wouldn’t it be better to not admit that – again, coming from a hard core conservative news source.

" you do know that Trump has no chance in hell of being President right? He won’t get the nomination and even Fox News has stated that". WOW, Fox news stated that, now all we have to do is wait for the Toronto Star to say the same and we have a slam dunk.

You do know that Trump has no chance in hell of being President right? He won’t get the nomination and even Fox News has stated that. This is all for show and self promotion. Are you not smart enough to realize that?

As Micheal Savage say BORDERS LANGUAGE CULTURE run on this and you will win the presidency and if the other conservative Republicans run on the same platform they will win the house and senate. The lefties in the democratic party know this, just watch as they turn from pandering to the left. True Americans are looking for a leader to bring them back from the depth that the current Obama regime has perpetrated on the American public and the world. Obama has lost America’s leadership but Thankfully Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Australian Prime Minister have taken on the message of freedom to the world.

I have read and heard things about the Donald that does not leave a warm or fuzzy feeling about him. Things like how he procured many of his real-estate properties at the expense of poor people compared to himself. He apparently has done some nasty deals to acquire property and then build his office buildings or hotels.
But then I guess that is what it takes to become a billionaire, good or bad that is what it takes. I don’t speak from experience, as I am as far removed from being wealthy (never mind being a billionaire) as one could get.
Having said all that, I have to admit that what I have been hearing him speak about during this campaign has given me pause for thought. He certainly would be better than what the US has now in their Muslim sympathizing president that would rather play golf than address issues important to the country.
The Donald is better than most of the candidates, not all but most. Maybe he will make a good president, we shall have to wait and see.
