Students for Life at the University of Ottawa have been stripped of their official campus club status, and the Student Federation at the University of Ottawa (SFUO) is doubling down in their attack on free speech on campus.
Students for Life has been an official campus club for the last 10 years, without incident.
They sometimes draw pink and blue chalk hearts on sidewalks to symbolize the unborn hearts stopped by abortion each day. They sometimes hand out literature that explains options to abortion.
Because of their peaceful pro-life message, Students for Life was stripped of their campus club status in late October.
Students for Life has hired the Justice Center For Constitutional Freedoms, which has asked that the group be reinstated. But SFUO isn’t backing down, passing a motion barring funding to “enhance groups or individuals with the primary or sole purpose of pro-life activities.”
However, the SFUO Clubs website says:
SFUO Clubs play a vital role in student life on campus. They reflect the great diversity of our student population at the University of Ottawa…
When the SFUO says diversity, they mean in color, sexual behavior, and choice of birth control.
It doesn’t mean diversity of thought.
