I asked a question at U of T's "End Israeli Apartheid" information booth. Then this happened.

The nauseating stench of anti-semitism was alive and well at Canada’s top ranked university – top 20 in the world – the University of Toronto.

In the foyer of one of the main campus buildings, several students had set up an information booth. I thought I’d stop by and ask a few questions, considering the fact that their booth was about as busy as a synagogue in Saudi Arabia.

I asked them if they were also concerned about actual, real human rights violations in, say, Saudi Arabia or Iran. Would they perhaps support a boycott of those countries?

The response was: “Oh, yeah there are other groups for that.”

Actually, no. There aren’t.

Then, after glancing through some of their “free" information pamphlets – which I’ll get to in a moment – I asked why there was no real mention of the terrorist organization Hamas and its genocidal aspirations, or the fact that Hamas purposely uses Palestinians as human shields and their homes for weapon storage.

In response, I was asked to leave.

This was rather odd given the fact that I was the only one there and it was a university building – a unversity to which I pay tuition.

Plus they sat beneath a huge banner that read “End Israeli Apartheid." They were perfectly willing to spread misinformation about Israel, yet they were completely unwilling to debate. I can only imagine why.

Let’s break down a few of their big claims on their “free" question & answer style handouts. I put "free" in quotation marks because, if you pay taxes in Canada, this is what some of your tax dollars pay for.

First question in the handout:

"Why do you use the term 'Israeli apartheid' to describe conditions in Palestine? Isn’t Israel a democracy, or rather, the only democracy in the Middle East?"

Oddly, they never actually dispute that Israel is in fact the only democracy in the Middle East that guarantees full and equal rights to all its citizens.

Literally the only distinction between Jewish and Arab Israeli citizens is that Arab citizens are not required to serve in the military.

More than half of Israeli Arabs have stated in polls that they’re proud of their state and wouldn’t dream of giving up their Israeli citizenship.

Oh, and while we’re on the topic of apartheid, guess who’s actually not allowed to own land in Ramallah or Gaza?

The Jews.

After tolerantly destroying all synagogues in the Gaza Strip, the peace loving Palestinians said that anyone caught selling land to Jews could be subject to the death penalty.

Moving on:

Actually, no. There is in fact something inherently racist about singling out the only Jewish state in the world and holding it to a higher moral standard, suggesting that its existence rests on its ability to cooperate and make deals with the very people bent on its annihilation.

Finally, the Palestinian student group obviously can’t leave uninformed college students alone without telling them all about Israel’s perpetration of "genocide." I’m not making this up. I wish I was -- I pay a lot of tuition to this school:

This is seriously beyond absurdity.

The Palestinian population has more than doubled in size since 1990  – not to mention the fact that the most common name in Israel last year was Mohammed. So much for "genocide."

Sorry anti-Semites, your lies have been debunked. Again.

When I was in University I used to love it when these groups would refuse to discuss their issues with you as soon as they figured-out that you had a different opinion to theirs. They would suddenly become very hostile if you dared to point-out any major flaws in their positions. So much for intellectual curiosity which is what I thought Universities were supposed to be about.

Trudeau’s, stance is confusing young people. Now Universities are trying to normalize this crap. What happened to the Canada which always stood beside Israel? I miss Harper’s strong lead regarding Israel. Canada is with out moral compass under Trudeau. They are trying to poison the minds of our youth.

Well, as I have been in Gaza and in the pallie territories I can tell you this:

They live well on others money.

There is no intention of getting off the media pity party or the truck loads of food delivered daily by the Israelis to the gates of Gaza.

Universities need to send their people out in the world before they are allowed to sit in a class room.

BDS is full-on anti-Semitism and and mainly sponsored in Canada by communists. The area in question is the former British Mandate.. this are now really consists of 5 areas (politically), Israel (by UN vote), Gaza.. where not a single Israeli or Jew is present plus area A, B and C of Judea and Samaria (what some call the ‘West Bank’)… in the Arab areas of Judea and Samaria, it is illegal for any Israeli to enter. Between 1948 and 1967, Gaza was essentially occupied by Egypt, Judea and Samaria was occupied by Jordan, and for that matter, next door, Lebanon was occupied by Syria until about 10 years ago… under these occupations, all Israelis (regardless of religion), and all Jews (from anywhere in the world), were not permitted and all traces of Jewish history and culture were systematically destroyed. In 2005 for Gaza, and in 2008, for Judea and Samaria (Olmert offer), the Arabs were offered everything that the BDS movement is asking for… and the Arabs refused it and made no counter offer. All this is to say that the goals of BDS are not serious, because they have been offered it and refused it, and that it is anti-Semitic because in the other examples of so-called occupation, nobody said boo. There are plenty of examples of bridge-building (google soda stream), but the BDS crowd won’t have any part of peaceful co-existence. As far as Canada goes, you cannot be a lefty unless you support all left causes, even if they conflict with each other, and this goes back to their communist core. At UBC (Canada’s second highest rated University), a First Nations prof and teacher of Marxism and colonialism studies, clearly stated on his twitter account that he is a communist. He wrote a book which clearly stated that he (as a communist) wants to get people angry… so angry that they will become an activist and initiate a communist revolution… he clearly states that it does not matter if it is radical feminism, gay rights, indigenous rights, anti-oil, or whatever…. he will agitate with or without facts… he wants people angry, so angry that it triggers them into becoming a 24/7 active radical. In summary, BDS is anti-Semitic, supported by communist agitators and their stated goal is nothing but empty words…. the exact opposite of a lefty is a conservative muslim… these two groups should want nothing to do with each other… but, BDS is supported by conservative muslims… and this is only because they (for religious reasons) object to Israel’s existence, full stop.
For me, I find it a shame that naive students are getting sucked into something that they know nothing about and is actually about as anti-Canadian as it gets…. Forms of BDS is illegal in France, and one-by-one, American State governments are passing legislation making BDS illegal. During the last election, all 4 main parties declared that they do not support BDS… bigots within the NDP were upset…. Something has to be really bad for Canada if even the NDP does not support it. This being said, only the Conservative Party took meaningful actions.
