U.S. TV journalists gunned down during live broadcast

Rebel Staff

Police in Virginia say a man suspected of shooting dead two journalists, chillingly, during a live TV broadcast, has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Vester Lee Flanagan, 41, who professionally went by the name Bryce Williams, is alleged to have gunned down WDBJ7 reporter Alison Parker, 24, and her cameraman, Adam Ward, 27, at approximately 06:45 local time (EDT), before fleeing the scene of the shooting, dumping his car at a local airport and exchanging it for a vehicle he rented a month ago.

Shortly before 11:30, a state trooper spotted the suspect’s vehicle on the Interstate 66 highway and initiated a traffic stop. According to a statement by Virginia State Police, Flanagan then ran his vehicle off the road and crashed. The trooper approached the vehicle and found the male driver suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital, where police say he succumbed to his injuries and died at 13:30.

The attack, which unfolded live before viewers’ eyes, reportedly took place as Parker was just beginning an interview with businesswoman Vicki Gardner from the local chamber of commerce at Bridgewater Plaza, a large shopping centre located in the south-western Virginia town of Moneta.

WDBJ7 has reported that Gardner underwent surgery in the morning and is recovering. Parker and Ward are said to have both died at the scene.

According to WDBJ7, Flanagan worked at the station for less than a year as an on-air reporter. He started at WDJB7 on March 29, 2012. His employment was terminated on February 1, 2013.

Social media accounts attributed to Flanagan were active following the fatal shooting.

The alleged shooter is also reported to have shared a graphic first-person video depicting the attack itself.

Are you trying to say that this happened because of the progressive Conservative party in the USA?

Oh, by the way – foot note on the Virginia Journo- killer – this event must have the social justice warriors heads exploding over how to spin this one – here you have a Black, Gay, lefty Journo-activist ( with a lengthy list of frivilous employee grievances for discrimination) is the primary subject in an evil handgun mass shooting – a total inversion of the narrative.
NO ONE in the PC community will address this OPENLY and HONESTLY because this man was conditioned to hate by politically correct paradigms which justify hatred/bigotry against certain groups of people – most recently whites. This is a prime example of politically correct progression as it turns aggressive and violent.

My heart goes out to the victim’s families – they deserve peace of mind and closure – far more then they are getting in the diversionary narrative from the corporate media and political interest groups. The motive was clearly racial, NOT a matter of the 2nd amendment right to armed self defense. In the words of Vester Lee Flanagan II, the killer, in a 23 page fax he sent to the TV station prior to the murders - “Why did I do it? I put down a deposit for a gun on 6/19/15. The Church shooting in Charleston happened on 6/17/15…” “What sent me over the top was the church shooting. And my hollow point bullets have the victims’ initials on them.” He continues, “As for Dylann Roof? You( expletive)! You want a race war (expletive)? BRING IT THEN YOU WHITE …(expletive)!!!”

This makes it pretty clear we should be talking about what has inflamed race relations to this violent edge, not firearms. The killer was deranged and motivated and this crime was certain to happen whether the attacker used knives, bats or tire irons – the method is moot, the motive is where the solution lies.

But instead, before the bodies are cold Obama and sundry other race baiters are making diversionary bromides instead of taking partial responsibility for the racial hatred which “weaponized media” and politics capitalized on.

Charles – Really? Murdering CBC employees would be a gift? Give over, dude !!

I am not so concerned about the anti-gun crazies as I am about those voices now calling to ban any future live news reports. Talk about a chill on free speech !!

What a tragedy !!

To bad it wasn’t CBC reporters then it would have been a gift. Sorry the two young ones have been taken from us.
Now for the gun crazies out there… This doesn’t mean take our guns away… Guns don’t kill people… People kill people… Remember if there weren’t any guns the man could have used a sword or even worse a club…
