UK: High Court Judge Recognises Sharia Divorce

Jack BuckbyRebel Contributor

The British High Court has recognised a Sharia marriage, and ruled on a divorce petition for a Muslim woman.

Now for a long time, the left have told us that Sharia doesn’t pose a threat in Britain because it isn’t officially recognised by our legal system.

That’s wrong, of course – but surely now that it IS, the left have something to worry about...right?

It is the fact that the British High Court has recognized a Sharia Marriage that is in contention here. This is a dangerous precedence.

In Canada we have what’s called “Common law” if you simply live with someone for 6 months you are considered married. You don’t have to go through the dog and pony show of a marriage at all just simply live with someone for that period of time and you will have to split your assets and your children, and pay alimony etc. should you decide to go your separate ways.

A common law marriage is 100% treated the same as a religious marriage, so whether you are married in a church or a mask it would make no difference whether it’s considered “legal” or not.

Personally I think that the judge was helping the lady get away from the Man.

Dora Whisman….If only a person like you in a respected profession could speak freely to ALL 300 of our Members of Parliament and describe the brutality of FGM. Thats the only way our Government will learn.

As a nurse, I took care of a Female Genital Mutilation patient in the hospital(USA). Western Civilization does NOT need this culture.

I usually love the Rebel’s coverage, but I have to disagree with your conclusion here. The judges verdict, if you strip away the legalese, basically says “This is not a marriage under our law, so she is entitled to be free of it.” It isn’t recognizing it as valid, it is flat out denying its legitimacy. So while the effect is that this woman gets the divorce she wants, the judge’s reasoning for it is that they were never married to begin with.

British High Court comes under the duristriction of the EU, not to say that May would not agree to this ruling.
