Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen held a press conference on the final day of the UN conference in Marrakesh. We waited patiently in the queue for almost an hour, but alas, the Rebel is not part of the Liberal government's "approved" media so we were ignored.
But, here are the three questions we wanted to ask the Honourable Minister Hussen... the sort of questions nobody in the mainstream media are asking.
* Section 3(3)(f) of Canada’s Immigration Act says "This Act is to be construed and applied in a manner that complies with international human rights instruments to which Canada is signatory.” Doesn’t that mean all the legal rights migrants are given in this agreement are imported into our Canadian law?
* Paragraph 21(i) of the compact says Canada will “facilitate access to procedures for family reunification for migrants at all skills levels.” Does this reflect Canadian policy, and if not, why did you sign it?
* Paragraph 33(c) of the compact says Canada will, quote, “promote” pro-migration media outlets and quote, “educate” journalists, and "stop allocation of public funding or material support” to media that are not supportive of migration. Will the new media bail-out fund be used in that way?
