A New York woman has won the right to serve her hard-to-reach husband divorce papers through the social network site Facebook.
In Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Matthew Cooper's ruling, he wrote that Ellanora Baidoo “is granted permission serve defendant with the divorce summons using a private message through Facebook. This transmittal shall be repeated by plaintiff’s attorney to defendant once a week for three consecutive weeks or until acknowledged .”
According to NYDailyNews, Ellanora Baidoo married Victor Sena Blood-Dzraku in a in a civil ceremony in 2009. However, Blood-Dzraku reneged on his promise to have a traditional Ghanaian wedding.
The husband and wife never lived together, according to Baidoo's lawyer. He kept in touch with her via phone and Facebook. His last known address was vacated in 2011. He has no fixed address and no place of employment.
It is unknown if Blood-Dzraku changed his relationship status to 'it's complicated'.
