University of Chicago says 'NO' to trigger warnings and safe spaces in epic MUST READ letter

StaffRebel Columnist

The University of Chicago of stepped up to the plate and has blasted left-wing millennials for moaning about 'safe spaces' and 'trigger warnings' by flat out banning them completely.

In a letter to its incoming class of 2020, the university made it clear that other points of view must be respected. This is in relation to schools across North America protesting and whining when speakers they don't like are scheduled to give talks at their schools.

Just this year the likes of Ben Shapiro, Milo Yiannopoulos and others have had events shut down by the 'Trigglypuffs' of the world.

Here is what the University of Chicago told its incoming class.

“Welcome and congratulations on your acceptance to the college at the University of Chicago. Earning a place in our community of scholars is no small achievement and we are delighted that you selected Chicago to continue your intellectual journey.

Once here you will discover that one of the University of Chicago’s defining characteristics is our commitment to freedom of inquiry and expression. … Members of our community are encouraged to speak, write, listen, challenge, and learn, without fear of censorship. Civility and mutual respect are vital to all of us, and freedom of expression does not mean the freedom to harass or threaten others. You will find that we expect members of our community to be engaged in rigorous debate, discussion, and even disagreement. At times this may challenge you and even cause discomfort.

Our commitment to academic freedom means that we do not support so called ‘trigger warnings,’ we do not cancel invited speakers because their topics might prove controversial, and we do not condone the creation of intellectual ‘safe spaces’ where individuals can retreat from ideas and perspectives at odds with their own.”

Absolutely incredible. Check and mate.

My father taught me that an education is learning “HOW” to think.
New Students should refrain from trying to indoctrinate universities
they attend into agreeing with them about “WHAT” to think.
anyone unwilling to hear someones reasons for what they believe
are enslaving themselves to their own beliefs. They become the very definition
of being closed minded.
My father also told me to be respectful because you only have to disrespect “one”
not “everyone”, to be considered a disrespectful person.
He died in 1999 of terminal lung cancer. I not only claim freedom of religion but
the right to interpret my freedom of religion as my right to choose my own God.
I chose the heavenly spirit of my earthly father to do the lord’s work for me personally.
I give my living flesh to his spiritual guidance.
He has all that is needed to be a living person.
Spirit, living flesh and his own identity.
My Heaven is where Jesus hosts his living spirit.
Would you respect my dead fathers right to be a living person again?
What if I identified as him and came to your school to speak?
If someone learns something they did not know before because
I passed on my earthly fathers wisdom after his flesh was dead.
Would that become self evident truth that he is still teaching others?
Can a dead man teach? “NO” Then I have every right to believe his
spirit is still alive and teaching through me..

Love and respect to all without prejudice.

I’m deeply offended. Silence this opposing opinion, NOW, shut it down! I demand my safe space. I’m a special snowflake and everyone should care what I think. Now l’m going to force you to listen to which of the 672 genders I am and why. If you don’t, like, listen? then you’re a racist sexist rapist and you should go to jail and die.

Uh, no Maurice. The word “university” comes from the Latin universitas magistrorum et scholarium, which basically means “community of teachers and scholars.”

I wonder how the school will deal with the riots that will happen?

Bring out the ASP batons!

Dr. genius… Those who demand so much tolerance show very little of it themselves, have you ever noticed that…

Surprising this would originate from the city where Obama peddled his “social organizing”! Watch lefty heads explode!

Great move but already some head of the students union or something has denounced the Dean as out of touch bla bla bla . Just came across the news now. Will be interesting to see how the verbal and ideological war over this proceeds from here.

Wow! A University that actually embraces root meaning of the word! (unity in diversity) I’m surprised it’s happened in left wing, gun-free zone Chicago. I can’t think of one single public University in Canada where that sort of common sense would have snowball’s chance in hell of such a policy being adopted.

Finally a University that stands for higher education. This is what universities are suppose to stand for. Caving into all the sissies and mentally disturbed just keeps the insanity going.

A win for the good people. The left has lost its mind.

Thank god the school of Milton Friedman & the Chicago boys still has a moral compass.
Here s hoping Canadian schools will retreat from their soap boxed long enough to take note of this.

The University of Chicago is on the leftist shit list because of it’s association with Milton Friedman.
