University's "Bias Free Language Guide" bans "American," "diabetic" and the phrase "Dogs smell funny"

The University of New Hampshire is a pretty pricey, fancy college, but I wouldn't go there if you paid me.

That's because of their "Bias Free Language Guide."

It covers "microagressions" -- including "micro-insults" -- plus offenses against "ageism, sexism, racism" and other "-isms."

The guide gets off to a bad start with its dubious definition of "democracy" and goes downhill from there. It's Orwell's 1984 except it isn't fiction.

Here's an actual example from the guide:

You shouldn't say "Dogs smell funny" in front of a blind person with a seeing eye dog.

Another "problematic" word? "American."

A major contributor to the guide is Melissa Harris-Perry, a pundit on far left MSNBC who, among other things, wore tampon earrings on the air and mocked interracial adoption. Is this the intellectual and moral role mode a university needs?

Anyway, after this 5000 word guide showed up on their website, something interesting happened...

Here's a copy of the guide so you can see how crazy it is yourself:

Whoever thought that intellectuals were smart, can see now that it is all in their own heads, and is based on feelings, not logic, or fairness. They are so superior that they have become pawns of evil, and can’t even tell right from wrong anymore. Since when do we let those who think like this tell us what to think and do? Not in my life and not in my house!

The proglodytes that now define the ‘left’ must be resisted. I’m not sure how to go about that though, since they do not lead with arguments they can win, but rather feelings that make them feel superior.

Excellent sarcasm thre Dan. Loved it.
I’d personally like to give this stupid shit Melissa Harris-Perry a few Macro Aggressions from my own mouth. I wonder if she’d like being called a stupid cunt.

After seeing this report on UNH’s ‘Bias Free Language Guide’, I’m feeling very afraid.
All the micro-aggressions and micro-insults, the insinuations of my White racism and privilege, being hurled at me by this policy makes me feel very unsafe…OMG I don’t have a safe room to go to…whatever will I do…mommie…
Oh wait a minute, I’m an angry, middle aged, White, heterosexual, Christian, male, gun owning, meat eating, conservative redneck, or is it hillbilly – it’s so hard to keep track of all the bad things I am according to my betters…so that inclusion and diversity, tolerance and social justice excludes me because I’m ‘an angry, middle aged, White, heterosexual, Christian, male, gun owning, meat eating, conservative redneck’…

The thing I like about micro-aggressions? It takes a million of them to count.
