“Unplanned”: Ex-Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson on the new film about her life

Ben DaviesRebel Host | Rebel Reel Reviews

At one time, Abby Johnson was one of the youngest Planned Parenthood clinic directors in America. She was involved in upwards of 22,000 abortions, and counselled countless women about their reproductive choices.

Then one day, after participating in an actual abortion procedure for the first time, Abby had an awakening. She walked down the street and joined the Coalition for Life.

If you're thinking, "That would make a good movie," then I have good news. Unplanned is the new movie based on Abby Johnson's book of the same name. I talked with Abby herself about her story, how it feels to have your life put up on the big screen, and what she feels are the best ways to raise awareness about abortion.

I wish I was good at science fiction writing. I’d love to write a fiction story about aliens who set up abortion clinics. But instead of killing the babies, they transplant them into artificial wombs and send them off to their home planet as future slave labour. Things get complicated when an abortion protester stumbles upon their secret. Now there’s an idea somebody needs to make into a movie.

I can only hope and pray that some light shed by this movie and Gosnell awake some deep conscience in our society about what we have done in the name of “choice” to our own future as human beings, Canadians. Even if we leave out the God Creator factor (which is impossible) this abortion culture is, simply put, a suicide of our culture. Makes absolutely no sense and flies in the face of the generations who came before us and built the world we currently enjoy and destroy at the same time? Proud father of 4 young adults who have been brought up in a God fearing home to think of others and not just themselves. Only by the grace of God!
