UPDATE: Radisson Toronto East rejects settlement offer for assault on Rebel reporters. We’re heading to court.

David MenziesMission Specialist

Regular viewers of this space might recall how my cameraman, Efron, and I, were assaulted at the Radisson Toronto East last month by a hotel manager.

It’s not the first time a Rebel reporter has been used as a punching bag. My colleagues Sheila Gunn Reid and Keean Bexte have also been roughed-up.

For whatever reason, some people feel entitled to break the law and let their hands do the talking when it comes to Rebel reporters out in the field.

After viewing the Radisson Hotel assault we posted on February 7th, many of you urged us to press charges and sue. In addition to filing a police report against the handsy-hotelier, we did indeed retain legal counsel to pursue a civil suit against them.

The hotel was recently served with the lawsuit, and has until March 13th to file a defence.

But in the meantime, we reached out to the Radisson to give them an opportunity to settle out of court, something we thought would be in everyone’s best interests.

Watch as I update you on how that went, and show you why it seems we’re going to court.

If you can help us, please do. We’ve set up a special website for all of the news about this trial at RadissonTorontoEast.com. We’ll keep you posted on everything that happens. And if you want to help us cover the costs of this litigation, please make a contribution on the website.

We’re not doing this for the money. We’re doing this out of self-respect, and to make the point: you can’t hit people you disagree with. You can’t punch a journalist. You can’t be violent. And if they need to learn that from a judge, so be it.

Please visit RadissonTorontoEast.com to learn more and help.

I think the police can be depended on top investigate accusations of a serious crime. Pursue it!

Jay Kelly the police have been politicized in Toronto.

Would it not make more sense to pursue criminal charges in this case? “Punching a journalist” or “roughing up” reporters is a serious matter and the police are obliged to investigate and charge the perpetrators.
Going into a civil suit at this stage seems like the weak reaction people are so fed up with. “I cannot get real justice, so I’ll just gripe and complain until I get some sort of financial settlement.”
The Rebel should pursue the criminal case. Show it is not about the money but about real justice.

If the Radisson Hotel is aware of what’s happening with the US Covington case and other assault cases taking place against Conservatives, pro-lifers, etc., then they should make every effort to settle this out of court.

Hardly good advertising for the Radisson. Don’t know why they wouldn’t fire that loser of a hotel manager.

I don’t know David but I think you’re placing too much faith in our courts. It seems they’ve gotten nuttier over the years and their decisions make little if any sense at all.

Ron Joseph… Bear spray or dog spray is really really really gray area for defense.. personally I wouldn’t do it unless my life was threatened.

How about Mace spray?
Mace is the brand name of an early type of aerosol self-defense spray invented by Allan Lee Litman in 1965. The first commercial product of its type.

I think after the government is done with that hotel it will have to be dozered to the ground, especially after being infested by Islamic rats!! Best case scenario is to demolish the hotel with the rats inside kinda like a 2for1 going outta business sale.

Muta Ween they will be in for a shock when the government no longer needs them for this and they are left with the bill for damages.

John Wick It’s very telling that no one gives a damn about celebrities opinions.
commented 2019-03-12 01:33:11 -0400
John Wick those same people had better not be surprised if they are attacked and no one cares as well.
commented 2019-03-12 01:28:45 -0400
John Wick yeah hate filled bigots tend to be ignorant in such ways. Glad you came along to show how immoral and prejudicial many people on the left are.

Oh, and Ezra, go for the big bucks this time.

David / Ezra

Rescind your offer to settle. Don’t do it!! They’re recalcitrant and won’t learn and need to be slammed up against the legal wall as hard as you can.
commented 2019-03-11 22:12:11 -0400
ROn Joseph you know better than that. You live in Canuckistan. Self defence is now illegal. Be a good patriot and take your lumps and make things easier for the cops. Victim beat up as it should be. Perpetrator beat up—TILTTILT-TILT..

It is very telling that no one really cares when Rebel reporters are assaulted vs. other media sources. It’s almost like people feel like The Rebel deserves it.

Yeah. There’s a word for that… What is it again…? Oh, Yeah. How silly of me. It’s left wing HYPOCRISY.

I’m running out of money trying to help out The Rebel on my disability income. Even so, I’m proud to give what I can afford to. I’m no trust fund kid like Justin Turdeau and his daddy were. This shows that the Trudeaus of the world are clueless twats who couldn’t survive a day on a welfare or disability pension payment.

Mike, how about Menzies take along a can of bear spray, I thing it’s legal in many areas for self defense.
commented 2019-03-11 20:14:30 -0400
So what is happening with the police report? Assault is assault.
I just wish the lawsuit could be for more, but the bad press ought to be some punishment and a reminder to other would be attackers. I doubt the Radisson has any self respect or gives a hoot about their reputation as a hotel chain anymore, considering that it has turned into a nothing more than one of Justin’s ratty hostels. I’d say that franchise is finished anyway. I would never stay in one anywhere.

It would seem that Rebel staff have to start taking along some staff that can treat these culprits like computer key boards……..by punching the information into them.

I’d sue their asses off at this point.

That hotel management thug has an ‘interesting’ look.
I did a bit of sleuthing and came up with some interesting images.
I can’t tell which one of his parents he takes after more… https://muppet.fandom.com/wiki/Bunsen_and_Beaker%27s_relationship
