Eight out of nine Iraqi refugees from the same family have been sentenced to between 9 and 13 years in jail for raping a German teacher in Vienna back on New Years Eve 2015.
The asylum seekers were between the ages of 22 and 48. A 27-year-old in the group confessed on tape and received a 10-year sentence.
As we previously reported, a court heard how a woman identified as Sabine K arrived in Vienna on December 28 2015 to spend the New Year with a female friend in the city. During celebrations on New Years, they were seen drinking in a bar-restaurant called Cactus. Shortly before 3AM, Sabine's friend noticed she was missing and another patron told her the men she had been talking to had 'taken her away'.
The woman was taken to an apartment in Vienna’s Rustenschacher Allee, where five other men were waiting. Sabine said she found herself naked on a double bed being assaulted by the men one after the other.
In their defense the Iraqis claimed that the victim had been giving them 'mixed signals', which the judge didn't buy.
Breitbart reports that if the conviction is not successfully appealed, the migrants could face possible deportation.
