The Rebel has received another document dump about the hiring of Heather Boyd, the former Western Canadian Bureau Chief for Canadian Press contracted to review the Alberta government's media policies after it banned The Rebel from press conferences and used an armed sheriff to remove me from the Legislature.
One month after her report came out, Boyd took a job in the Parliamentary Affairs Bureau (PAB) working for the Alberta government. This was just too fishy and the timing was a little too convenient for us to ignore so we filed Freedom of Information requests and what we got back was shocking.
Last week we learned that Boyd was interviewing for her new job at the same time that she was drafting her non-partisan review as a private contractor. It was a shocking conflict of interest and a sham. Her whole report was a job interview.
Now today, I can tell you that the same person Heather Boyd was interviewing with for her new government job was the very same person who oversaw her media policy review.
Chris MacPherson, the Deputy Minister responsible for the PAB, was the person Heather Boyd needed to impress with her review to get her $120,000 per year job. And we have the emails to prove it.
Watch my video to see the emails back and forth.
We knew the review would be stacked against The Rebel from the beginning. We knew last week that Boyd was using her report as a job interview. Now we know just who Boyd had to impress to get her reward.
