UPDATE: RCMP bans firearm over “Molon Labe” engraving

Faith GoldyArchive

A while back, I asked for your help in overturning the RCMP's decision to put an otherwise legal firearm on the "prohibited" list for nothing more than cosmetic reasons: A limited edition "Spartan" themed engraving.

On this week's show, I presented an update on this story, talking with John Hipwell of Wolverine Supplies about his ongoing fight with the Mounties over this arbitrary (and ironic) attack on law abiding Canadian gun dealers and owners.

They work for Jihadi Justin, not us. Remember that!

It’s all about confiscation. Easier for Jihadi Justin to establish a dictatorship that way.

Yes… Reference to Vimy Ridge and what it stands for is an excellent idea for the next batch of collector fire arms.!!

Great idea on the fundraising items, Bill. If The Rebel will start this ball rolling I will definitely buy some items. Bumper stickers, window cling stickers, shirts, etc. Start them coming, please. Let’s get this phrase embedded into the Canadian consciousness and identity for the next hundred years and stop being nation of urbo-weenies.The year of Vimy Ridge would be a very appropriate time.

@Laura Lacey

With reference to your comment, you should know that Persians are not Arabs. I am neither Persian nor Arab but I understand Persians and Arabs are not typically fond of one another and that both consider it an insult to be mistaken for the other. Xerxes led Persians, NOT Arabs, at the Battle of Thermopylae :-)

Then next batch of 3000 should be named after the badass Polish King Jan Sobieski and his Winged Hussars at the Gates f Vienna. “With the main body of the Holy Roman Imperial army completely surrounded and besieged by over 200,000 Turkish warriors, the badass Polish King Jan Sobieski led the single hugest and most balls-out cavalry charge in history. Their wings fluttering and zipping like creepy, spear-flinging birds of prey, three thousand Winged Hussars plowed into the Turkish force, driving them back, plundering their supply train, and driving the Turks from the field. It would be the furthest West the Ottoman Empire would ever advance.”

The Persian King Xerxes endured a humiliating defeat, during the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC. King Leonidis of Sparta annihilated the invading Arabs, and this remains an historical soft spot for them to this day.

John Hipwell should rename his CZ858 “Saxon Crusader”, and send Jihadi Justin and his merry band of Islamists to the psychiatric couch.

Hi Faith. I had hoped you would get his opinion on selling guns to people with no photo ID based on religious ideology. While I 100% support his right to sell firearms, I would be curious to hear how he and other sellers feel about this issue.

Such Mickey Mouse decisions by the once respected Mounties…I suppose I’m at risk because my Smoke wagon has grips that bear the word “Liberty”…

Yes bill elder.. Sell camping gear, bumper stickers, farm equipment, hub caps, furniture, engraved windows, garbage cans, poetry, drinking glasses, clothing, business cards, playing cards, cutlery, dog collars, Fish aquariums, table tops, paint it on your fence in fact sticker or engrave every commercial
and household item until that phrase becomes common and everybody understands what an overreach the Rcmp are attempting until they look so childish and are forced to back down..
Make them look like fools in the court of public opinion.!!

A show of solidarity in protesting RCMP vindictive gun politics would be to similarly cosmetically change a lot of legal unrestricted or restricted firearms with the Molon Labe branding – I think gun orgs should sell stickers and etchings that we can put on our stocks and bolts identical to these Spartan CZs and use the money to initiate the much needed law suit.

So do an end run. Strip down one of the weapons and resubmit it, as he suggested in one of his e-mails he should have done in the first place. Just send it in with no fanfare, like it’s a new shipment. When it gets approved, go hard!

Molon Labe motherfuckers!
From my cold dead hand, fascist scum!
Just try and make me, NAZI assholes.

It should prove interesting when I try to renew my PAL/Restricted license soon…

Yes, Bill , and then RCMP is quite willing to be that puppet. I can’t imagine them having a shred of self respect when they are so roundly despised and mocked by the populace they supposedly serve. There used to be a lot of respect for them but when they politicized themselves that all went out the window.

They’re dragging their feet on a solution because they got caught red handed in another abusive enforcement political persecution of the lawful sport shooting industry. In this case another arbitrary, technically and legally unsupportable re-interpretation of the regulations. This, like the Ruger 10/22 mag ban is so obviously asinine and/or vindictive, it puts them in a lose-lose situation where they either have to admit they regulate/enforce in a less than professional manner by vindictive political criteria or if it stands it outlaws all the legal firearms sold which have all the same functionality – or suffer another class legal action for unwarranted property damage.

In any event, the Trudeau government in using the RCMP as a sock puppet in their ideological/political war with lawful firearms owners has put the RCMP’s professional reputation in doubt – this is the 3rd black eye the RCMP have suffered in being utilized as a political weapon in the Liberal’s unrelenting hatred of the law-abiding firearms community.
