Vancouver's homeless “community” ignore Oppenheimer Park eviction deadline

David MenziesMission Specialist

For months now, Oppenheimer Park in Vancouver has existed as a tent city, housing about 200 vagrants.

More than 100 tents can be found here, but earlier this week, the Vancouver Board of Public Parks issued an eviction notice to the park’s squatters, ordering them to vacate the premises by 6 p.m., Aug. 21.

But when the deadline came and went, tent city and its residents remained.

And when a large police presence dropped by the park around 7 p.m., the cops weren’t there to forcibly remove the homeless, but rather, they were there to provide an escort for protesters — demonstrators who are actually IN FAVOUR of Oppenheimer Park being used as a tent city! Only in Vancouver...

Why, in the year of our lord 2019, are Canadians living in Parks while Muslims live rent free in hotels at the public’s expense? ……This is Trudeau’s version of Canada?

Where is that earthquake?
Lotus land is a mess. Robertson is a loser. He’s always been a loser and the people who voted him in for another term knew he was a loser. They don’t care. Even Robertson knows he is a loser. He literally said he knew he screwed up his first term and begged the people of Vancouver to give him just one more chance. It was pathetic.

How many cracks do people have to fall through to end up in such a state? That is sure a whole bunch of dysfunction right there.
But don’t worry Justin’s new immigrants and terrorists are being well taken care of, and that’s what counts right?

I guess the homeless folks are still useful tools for the “progressives.” Once they outlive their usefulness, they’ll be chucked under the proverbial bus.

Vancouverites should feel proud to assist the poor by sacrificing their green spaces that were developed through their tax dollars. That is what progressivism is, correct? I do not see why they are complaining.

First Oppenheimer Park, but the better park to convert is Stanley Park. Much larger. Maybe, that can happen as the next step.

Also note that Greater Vancouver hosts many beautiful green spaces that can be so utilized, and that the municipal governments have declared themselves as sanctuary municipalities. So lots of potential folk to host and space to host them.

Vancouver should be proud of itself that it is converting green space to utilitarian space. Heck, the one shot even showed a blue box, so there is still a bit of green left in this conversion project.

It would be interesting to know if at least one of these people were Muslims, but I suspect all the Muslims will be living in the surrounding apartment buildings….Driving Jaguars.
