Isn’t it interesting how Justin Trudeau’s Liberals become a bunch of fiscal conservatives when it comes to taking care of our military and our veterans?
They have no problem giving $10.5 million to convicted Al Qaeda war criminal Omar Khadr but are currently fighting Captain Kimberly Fawcett to avoid paying for her prosthetic leg, trying to weasel out of a duty to care for her on a technicality.
In 2006, Fawcett was on a military-authorized family care plan and was in a devastating highway accident near Kingston, Ontario that killed her 9-month-old baby. She also lost her one of her legs.
But yet in the face of this unimaginable tragedy, Fawcett re-deployed to Afghanistan for a second tour with a prosthetic leg. She became a triathlete, competing in the Invictus Games. She's even climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.
But Fawcett did all those things in spite of her treatment by the Canadian government and leaders of the country she served with distinction.
The government continues to argue Fawcett was not on duty at the time of her accident, even though the initial military investigation found otherwise.
In today’s video, I’ll show you how the government blew nearly $32,000 on photo-ops for Veterans Affairs in just seven months, while refusing to pay for the $34,000 bill for Fawcett’s leg.
I guess Fawcett is just asking for more than Trudeau is willing to give.
