Did you catch the latest explosive story to come from VICE Canada? Not the alleged cocaine trafficking ring that was operating within their news room, but rather, an eight month long investigation into “The Birth of Canada's Armed, Anti-Islamic 'Patriot' Group”.
Apparently VICE reporter and superb downtown Toronto hipster Mack Lamoureaux, infiltrated and embedded himself into the inner workings of a far-right extremist group operating in Alberta called the Three-Percenters.
And by infiltrated and embedded I mean he met their leader once at a Denny’s in Calgary, joined their closed Facebook group and went to one public event to get photos.
That’s VICE journalism for you — it doesn't get much more hard hitting than that!
Watch as I explain why this story is almost too predictable these days.
The Media Party love to portray far right groups and far right extremism as a major threat, all while ignoring the clear and present danger of Islamic extremism.
More over, the VICE article features comments and quotes from three academics from universities across the country who specialize in studying far right extremism in Canada, yet, is there a single academic anywhere in the country who studies Islamic extremism or far left extremism like Antifa?
I'll also show you why the narrative that we're under threat from far right groups being pushed by scholars and the media doesn't match what our top spy agency CSIS has had to say about this threat over the past few years.
