VIDEO: Celebrities Tell Americans to 'Reject the NRA' After Las Vegas Shooting

Kristin TateRebel Buzz Contributor

Celebrities are banding together in the wake of the Las Vegas shooting to attack gun rights. Because, you know, banning all guns will prevent criminals (who don't follow laws) from getting them!

A-list celebrities including Emma Stone, Melissa McCarthy, Sheryl Crow, and Julianne Moore joined forces in a new PSA, urging Americans to "reject the NRA" and concealed carry laws. The video was made in the wake of the shooting at a Las Vegas concert earlier this month.

The PSA was created by Everytown for Gun Safety, a group funded by none other than Michael Bloomberg.

Of course, this star-studded video does nothing to present actual solutions in the wake of America's deadliest shooting. More gun laws would not have stopped the Las Vegas shooter, Stephen Paddock--he had no history of mental illness and passed background checks in order to obtain the guns he used.

Given that stricter background checks would have done nothing to prevent Paddock from buying his guns, it remains unclear how the measures being pushed in the Everytown PSA relate to the Las Vegas shooting.

Even Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein, a darling of the gun control movement, said on Face the Nation that no new laws could have stopped the Las Vegas shooting.

What these celebrities don't seem to understand is that gun control often makes it harder for law abiding citizens to purchase firearms for self-protection. Criminals, on the other hand, don't follow laws to begin with.

But hey, who needs logic in Hollywood?

Sorry Jay Kelly, your Homer Simpson impression is getting old!

Sorry to repeat, but Stephen Paddock, a 64 year old retiree, WAS NOT A CRIMINAL. He was a law abiding citizen.

You are attacking him as though he was some sort of wild beast. He was not. He was simply a guy with a penchant for gambling who legally bought firearms to defend himself and to enjoy target-practice.

Why do you attack and criticize a law-abiding United States citizen who chose to arm himself. Should he have chosen just one or two weapons? On what grounds do you attack him?

Jay Kelly, research this topic thoroughly and expand your research to include what history has shown us when the state disarms lawful gun owners. Nasty stuff!

And such is reality and history Jay Kelly… People do go “nuts”, some more predictably than others, but rational societies do not dis-arm their overwhelmingly lawful populaces because of the few “nutters”… The fundamental stupidity lies in believing that a few more “gun laws” will prevent nutters and those of criminal intent, with carrying out their agendas… Once again: – Southside Chicago is DAILY proof of that being so…

Hey, I was just pointing out that Stephen Paddock, a 64 year old retiree, was not a criminal. He was a law abiding citizen.

Some Rebel readers take umbrage at that fact, as though gun owners are criminal from birth.

No. He was law abiding and had no criminal record.

Only by shooting fifty people dead did he become a criminal. Any honest gun owner in the United States could match that.

Jay Kelly, other posters have already pointed out your failed logic.
I’m posting a something else for you to think about. In my previous career, I worked with people who had many presenting problems, including suicide ideation and previous suicide attempts. In gathering the history, and, working through what brought them to the point of deciding on a final solution, some of my clients did own guns (they told me they were legal gun owners, and, I had no reason not believe them). The suicidal gun owners did not plan to use their gun; some of the methods they preferred to consider was : overdose, hanging, driving a vehicle over a cliff, cutting the veins in their wrist, carbon monoxide poisoning etc…
The only variance to this was police officers and military; they were also dealing with PTSD.

The key to understanding this insanity is in the last words of this video by some forgettable wanna be: “It feels good!”. Then it’s just gotta be right, right? That’s how they work, those on the left.

Jay, thanks for the laugh. Couldn’t help but notice the cherry picking there, btw. Others noticed it also, how you talk about some vague generalities but ignore the real facts, the real evidence that’s causing widows and orphans to the tune of better than one a day in the places with the strictest gun control laws. Why do you want us all to live like it’s Chicago or Detroit Jay? Why don’t you move there, and shut up about this already while hiding under your bed? You say strict gun laws prevent law abiding people from becoming mass murder(er)s, that’s fucking hilarious! Maybe, you know, there are other factors at play there, pretty sure it isn’t a lack of gun availability that stops people from becoming mass murderers. If you think that the only thing that’s preventing mass murders by law abiding citizens is the lack of availability of guns, you are way far gone! Now, your argument regarding suicides, accidents, and kids may have a bit of merit, but I’d suggest we need to look at that sort of thing a bit deeper. Pretty sure residential pools kill more kids, so I guess it’s a bad time to go into that business, right? Lotta suicides by car exhaust, looks like we’re all gonna have to start walking, right? And trampoline accidents, don’t get me started! Really Jay, sometimes I wonder why you even try.

Jay Kelly, Why would you call some one law abiding and upstanding after shooting a cop?

Typical brain-dead, lefty virtue signallers, ignorant, self righteous, chauvinistic narcissists, and every one of them unable to express an original opinion or idea – they all read off the teleprompter – they all use the same talking points from the same fascist playbook! Typical lefty.
Although I recognized only one name…since they’ve outed themselves, everyone of those useful idiots ought to be spanked…Public stocks appeal me. Rotten fruit, eggs and vegetables only Moohammud – no rocks!

All these celebrities who are against the NRA and legal gun ownership should never take an acting role in which their character holds or uses a gun. Hollywoods hypocricy is ridiculous. Stop making action movies, war movies and any movie where guns are involved. Until then, shut the f**k up!

BTW- In Canada studies were launched by both the Chretien government and the Harper government to understand if the current gun laws had any impact on crime, suicide or accidents – the research came back both times that the effect of gun control laws on these events was not measurable. These government commissioned studies were used as the basis for untangling and nullifying a number of redundant gun laws in Canada – to date, the effect of even those changes is “unmeasurable”.

People who have private armed security and live in armed gated communities are preaching disarmament for others who must live on the mean streets – how classist, how philistine. How about you Hollywood pervs give up your armed security first and provide an example, Make Hollywood and Brentwood a gun-free zone, show personal sacrifice to your cause – naww din’t think so , can’t expect much from posers in a fantasy industry
commented 2017-10-19 10:35:24 -0400
Tell the celebs to get rid of their armed security before they demand anything of gun owners. See how they will hem and haw when the finger gets pointed at them.

The strictest gun laws in the US are in Detroit. The most gun violence in the US is in Detroit. Where citizens are armed, or can be armed, there is usually less gun related violence. If you try pulling a gun and attack someone, chances are that someone might take you out for doing so. Sort of makes you think twice about being a villain.

Interesting how they don’t even know that people “with dangerous histories” can’t legally obtain a firearm, never mind a “silencer”. Talking though their hats as usual.

Why silencers? First it only reduces the noise, it does not make the weapon silent. Second, the idea is for use by target shooters and hunters because the noise of a weapon discharging can damage their hearing.

91% of blacks killed by firearms are killed by other blacks. Following their logic, shouldn’t blacks be restricted from gun ownership? Or would that not be PC?

Rather than taking an hour to make this video, perhaps they should give copious amounts of money to victims of gun violence. You know, putting their money where their mouth is. Oh, heavens! Decrease their wealth? No way! How will they then be able to afford their armed security?

J Kelly… If you’re such a fan of history then you will remember that every country that disarmed their citizens had a massive slaughter that followed very shortly after the last guns were taken away… Disarmed citizens insures mass Genocide of the citizens by the dictatorships.. I don’t even insult me by asking who and when.!!!

Love having people with gated communities and armed security telling me not to be able to defend myself.

Jay Kelly i recall a Muslim terrorist attack in Edmonton.

Jay Kelly… Really?… I would love to see your proof for those contentions… And Southside Chicago is what – on another planet?

“Because, you know, banning all guns will prevent criminals (who don’t follow laws) from getting them!”

We cannot ignore the fact that Stephen Paddock, a 64 year old retiree, WAS NOT A CRIMINAL. for his 64 years he obeyed the law more than most folks and had no criminal record whatsoever. He did obey the laws and under those laws he was able to acquire and arsenal of powerful weapons and to modify them so they shoot more rapidly.

I recall in Ontario a few years back a young Ontario Provincial Police officer being shot by a law-abiding and upstanding citizen.

Stricter gun-control laws do lessen the chances of law-abiding citizens becoming mass murders. Stricter gun laws also dramatically reduce the number of suicides, accidental self-inflicted wounds, and children in households accidentally shooting themselves or other children.

Why do these perverts & pedophiles think it’s their duty to lecture anyone about anything? When they disarm their security people they get to have an opinion. Until then they need to shut the hell up.

Yikes..!!! The once hotties have aged very poorly… I wonder if that has anything to do with lifestyle choices.!!

Everybody knows there’s not a lot of credibility out of Hollywood these days

You would think that Holly-weird lame actors could produce a convincing video.
Two thumbs down!
