In Alberta, we hear a lot about Bill 10. It’s the law that was brought in by the Former PC government.
Bill 10 mandates a number of things for Alberta schools. These include gay/straight alliances (GSAs) in all schools if the students ask for them and it allows anyone to use the washroom of the gender they self identify with, not the washroom that matches their biology.
I wanted to know more about some of the opposition to this law so I went out to Spruce Grove Alberta to meet with Pastor Brian Coldwell at his church, the New Testament Baptist Church. Pastor Brian is with the Parents for Choice in Education (PCE) and his group is lobbying hard for amendments to Bill 10.
PCE says that Bill 10 violates parental rights or parents to direct the education of their children. PCE says they don't oppose or support GSAs, they oppose the government imposing these alliances on every school regardless of the culture of the school or the parents wishes through Bill 10.
Watch my video to see our discussion and hear how Parents for Choice in Education is planning to put pressure on the government.
Parents for Choice in Education believes that it should be the decision of parents, not politicians, bureaucrats, special interest groups or political activists, as to what clubs if any, are mandated at the school attended by their children.
