(WATCH) PragerU: Socialism ruined Venezuela

Rebel Staff

In his State of the Union address, President Trump condemned Venezuela's socialist policies and vowed that America would never be a socialist country. Why? Because, as Venezuela shows, socialism always destroys countries.

I pray each day that the lies of socialist communist idealism don’t take hold in Canada and United States.God help us if they do.
The “problem” is that God’s judgement is usually giving people what they ask for. But keep praying. Pray for the spiritual blindness to be lifted.

Alexander Jungk, Gary Larson , creator of the well known FarSide comics once depicted a dog’s master addressing the dog " Fido, how are you today" or something of that nature. The caption of what the dog heard and understood read " Fido, blah blah blah blah" . In other words , the dog didn’t really understand or comprehend anything after “Fido”.
Advocates of this socialist Marxist philosophy like William are just like Larson’s puppy dog .They don’t listen or want to understand. They haven’t experienced the promised utopia personally .They rely on false and distorted information provided by those of like mind.Sadly, they cannot be convinced of the folly and disaster that follows the fallacies of communism despite its abject failures for over a century.
I drove through the barrios to work in a refinery that was later nationalized by Chavez. My friends fabricating company was seized by Chavez thugs . The supermercados I shopped at are either closed down or have empty shelves. My Venezuelan coworkers and friends are scattered all around the planet .
All in a timeframe of 15 years.
I pray each day that the lies of socialist communist idealism don’t take hold in Canada and United States.God help us if they do.

William… You live in Western Canada, so do I. Let me invite you to live in Venezuela, as a commoner, not one of the elitists who takes all the money they can by any means no matter who it belongs, I’ll give you my passport, my rations id, and my drivers license. Sorry, that is all I have left, I lost my business because of the government, and my mother lost our house because of the government. I won’t bother telling you what other things I lost after 48 years for hard work and doing the right thing, not only me but my brother and my parents, am first generation Venezuelan, my parents moved there in the mid-‘50s. Don’t tell me about deliberately inflicting an STD on myself, I was there, I saw it, I lived it, I didn’t inflict it upon my self, they did it, every day, more and more of the so alleged medicine, the cure to all of our ailments, being rich is bad say the Socialists, so poor and ignorant is the salvation, like a miracle, but you have to work more and be happy about it, so forget about complaining. To date, Venezuelans are poorer by the minute thanks to bad politics and bad people, after 20 years of that crap I can tell you, and you can see it in Cuba, that after 60 years of the same crap are a great example to see. The sad part for me is that after about 4 years here with the same crappy mentality in the government I already feel like I should move from here too, because the end here will be exactly like the one in Cuba and Venezuela, Socialism will take us there.

WILLIAM KAY….Capitalist nations shutting you out of their access to money is one of the inherent pitfalls of socialism. So your scholarly analysis of why Venezuela is suffering is sort of like blaming a poor love life on deliberately inflicting an STD on yourself.

Venezuala can turn this all around by following Justin’s and Gerald’s lead and closing down their oil industry altogether ….followed soon by getting rid of those cow farts…as we know from the Canadian experience wind farms will expand the economy and that pesky budget will balance itself.

Just BTW….a little off topic but not by much….do you know why the Quebec dairy cartel gives more support to Andrew Scheer than to Justin….it’s because they know that once Gerald is done closing down the oil industry their farting cows are next.

Alexander well said, William thinks that government power is not used on private companies as well, many socialist countries do that.

William Kay no Norway is not more socialist than Venezuela.
commented 2019-02-08 00:24:38 -0500
To reply to William Kay… Hugo Chavez expropriated the oil industry when he nationalized it and fired thousands of workers, who were union people, and the union was the governments union, so he screwed up his own people. Lots of those people, top-notch personnel, engineers, laborers, you name it, ended up in Alberta, many of them went to Dubay, Oman, the USA, and the Emirates. Since Chavez took power after being sworn in as President he took his mask out and showed his true colors, Socialism was established and Fidel Castro, Mao Tse Tong, and Marx were the new row models to follow. Like the Cubans, Venezuela started to have a “Hate Capitalism” attitude and that is the reason many countries started to hate Venezuela back. When Chavez started to bring terrorists from Spain (ETA), from Palestina, Iran, Colombia (ELN, FARC) and started distributing cocaine all over the world, brought from Bolivia trough his friend and fellow Castro-Communist President Evo Morales, the “Soles Cartel” was established and all these terrorists where responsible for guarding and moving the precious cargo, today this people even train the militia, the one that will fight against the Gringos if they dare to come. Obama didn’t do enough if anything to fight against the Socialist regime in Venezuela, Obama even repaired their relationship with Cuba, even though Cuba has been openly and systematically invading Venezuela. Top military ranks in Venezuela are Cuban officers reporting directly to the Castros in Cuba, and since Fidel is gone, Raul is there to continue. Pseudo Doctors, Sports Trainers, Veterinarians, and a few other positions ended up occupied by Cuban people send to, in theory, do their job but mainly indoctrinate the common Venezuelan with the communist ways. Since the implementation of Socialism in Venezuela, Hugo Chavez and now Nicolas Maduro parted from the regular institutions for credit and went with comrades like mentality partners and that is why Venezuela is financed now by China and Russia, they practically own everything. The corruption is so big, the expenditures are so enormous that the inflation in Venezuela today is about one million percent (1.000.000%), and is all self-inflicted. It is wrong to be rich in a Socialist country but not for the leaders, they can be billionaires, and the poor people don’t need humanitarian relief because their leaders are fat and healthy. There is no real opposition, the vast majority of the so-called opposition are paid by the narco regime to be there and oppose but really be part of the institution. The interim President Juan Guaido is the only one to this point to really do the right thing for the right reasons and he might be the one person who can oust the regime peacefully and with the constitution in his side. If the military personnel, officers and troops, not the Cubans, decide to go to the correct side of the ring and side with the constitution, this Socialist Narco-Regime can fall. Nobody brags more than the Cuban government, using the Venezuelan example to tell El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala and now Mexico how to live “La Vida Loca” Communist style. Socialism / Communism sucks. Socialism of the XXI century is the same old crapola.

For the record I live in Western Canada. What we need here is sweeping privatisation of public lands and deregulation of the resource sector. This may not be the policy for all times and all countries.
Venezuela is under globalist attack. Starting in 2014 a systematic economic warfare program was initiated by Obama and his European and Saudi allies. Venezuela was suddenly frozen out of international credit markets. Companies that do business with Venezuela are being threatened as well. Modern businesses operate on credit lines for contingencies and bulk purchases. Foreign assets of the Venezuelan government and its oil company have been expropriated. This made the situation very difficult for Venezuela during the collapse of oil prices. This was not an accident, and it happened in conjunction with a massive infusion of money to the Venezuelan opposition movement. Intelligence agency bosses brag about making Venezuela’s economy scream.

Technically, socialism is a transitionary step from capitalism to communism. Worth keeping in mind if someone tells you “I’m not a communist, I’m a socialist”.

Very good video. Socialism is communism.
commented 2019-02-07 11:58:24 -0500
Another big factor in what makes a government socialist is that the power of government is centralized, which in turn tends to lead to tyranny and a dualistic schism in the wealth of the society, the elites vs. the common people.

Excellent video!

Everywhere socialism has been tried it has failed.

Norway, Finland and Denmark, the Scandinavian nations, are not socialist as Left say. They are capitalist nations with heavy socialism that are slowly going broke because of the large amount of socialist programs … welfare nations.

To define socialism / communism , I would have to consolidate three years of listening to Hugo Chavez’ weekly lectures on state TV on the subject .
The private ownership William Kay refers to is a total fallacy. The private people are all Chavistas .All socialist/communists.All business is totally controlled by Maduro as was the case when Chavez was still alive.
My personal experience and observations exceed the value of these academics and bookworms that haven’t personally lived the dream of communism.
Obama spewed the same claptrap as Chavez as does Bernie Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez. If these people get in power , the consequences will be devastating for humanity, not just United States.

Venezuela-what Canada wants to become!! It’s real rich that Trudeau and his joke of a foreign affairs minister are preaching to them about fair democratic process when Trudy the fool can’t even carry that out in his own country!!!

William your definition is not accurate. Socialism can be a range of government ownership. In your own example of Norway the Government does not own all businesses or property.

Here is what Britannica says about socialism:

“This fundamental conviction nevertheless leaves room for socialists to disagree among themselves with regard to two key points. The first concerns the extent and the kind of property that society should own or control. Some socialists have thought that almost everything except personal items such as clothing should be public property; this is true, for example, of the society envisioned by the English humanist Sir Thomas More in his Utopia (1516). Other socialists, however, have been willing to accept or even welcome private ownership of farms, shops, and other small or medium-sized businesses.

So, William, why are other oil producing nations not starving as well if the problems simply falling oil prices?
commented 2019-02-07 09:54:17 -0500
Socialism means government ownership of your mind.
commented 2019-02-07 08:51:43 -0500
Socialism means government ownership of the economy. This is measured by the percentage of the workforce employed by governments or state-owned enterprises; or by the percentage of the industrial assets owned by the government etc. In Venezuela, circa 2017, after 18 years of Chavez/Maduro rule, 75% of the economy remained in the private sector. Norway is far more socialist than Venezuela. State ownership of Venezuela’s oil industry dates to 1976 not 1999. Venezuela’s woes are primarily caused by declining oil revenues; combined with a relentless economic warfare campaign launched by the Obama Administration in 2014. Repeat: a) not a socialist country; b) victim of globalist economic warfare.
