WATCH: Brian Lilley takes on Trudeau's Environment Minister

Brian LilleyArchive

When we say we ask the tough questions that no one else will, we mean it. On Wednesday night the Liberals announced new rules for approving major projects such as pipelines.

In addition to adding new factors that must be considered such as the greenhouse gas emissions created by the project, the new process will also see power taken away from the National Energy Board and given to cabinet.

The whole process looks like something designed to stop pipelines that would get oil from Alberta and Saskatchewan, to market. That shouldn't be a surprise to anyone paying attention.

While the Liberals insist they want to get Canada's natural resources to market the fact is they have not supported pipeline projects that would accomplish that. Then consider who some of the top advisors to this government are.

Gerald Butts is Prime Minister Trudeau's senior advisor and former head of the Canadian division of the World Wildlife Fund. Butts is on the record as saying Canada should be moving to a "zero carbon" economy and that we don't need different pipeline routes, we need a different economy - one without oil.

Butts is also signatory, along with Marlo Raynolds, of a document calling for a moratorium on "tar sands" development and the halt of infrastructure that would support that industry.

Raynolds is the chief of staff to Trudeau's minister of the environment Catherine McKenna.

With the government bashing oil, the natural resource sector, pipelines and without much support in Alberta or Saskatchewan can they be trusted to do what is best? Are they getting advice from Butts and Raynolds on moving Canada to a "zero carbon" economy?

Watch the video as I ask McKenna about what kind of advice she is getting and whether Canadians in the oil patch have a reason to worry.

McKenna seems totally deaf when it came to hearing your excellent questions, Brian. All I got from McKenna was the standard Liberal and media party line, Harper’s fault, Harper’s fault, and that the Liberals are moving towards Butt’s and Trudeaus’s delusional “zero carbon economy”. I have zero trust in this Liberal Government with their cut & paste, canned, robotic responses. I have no doubts that they working closely with Nutley, Wynne and ilk to destroy the West at any cost.

Michael Mann. I have some questions for you.
Does the world or even most of Canada know that the CBC is full of hypocritical, biased, free loading, lying, back sliding, greedy, psychotic, corrupt, egg sucking Lieberals? No? Why not Michael?
Even the low level support workers at CBC knew Ghomeshi was assaulting women and calling it sex but the management were unaware? When the management did become aware what did they do? Did you say cover it up? Of course they did. What a great bunch of guys and gals at the CBC.
Hey Michael, did you see that video of Mansbridge at the wedding in Italy? You know the one where he is standing in place of the priest and guess who was getting married? Well it was none other than Trudeau’s director of communications. You know, the woman whose father was on Mansbridge show At Issue talking politics. You remember right. The woman’s name is Kate Purchase. Her father’s name is Bruce Anderson. Well, what do you know. Old Bruce had to give up the gig after the election when people found out that just maybe he was a little biased.
I won’t even get into Hubert Lacroix or Evan Solomon. Both a great pair of guys, right Michael.
So what do you think Michael? Does the country and the rest of the world deserve to know the CBC better?

Sorry, I meant “Mainstream Media”, not PSM. Whoops!

The current federal government notwithstanding, I doubt that anyone out there thinks that our own beloved Alberta premier, Rachel Notley, gives a damn about the economic welfare of our province (or our entire country, for that matter). She deceptively blathers out of both sides of her mouth about the pipelines that she does not, in truth, support, which, at the present time, leaves our oil exportation totally reliant on the railway. So how does she facilitate this process in the best interests of our provincial economy? By dumping on an increase in the locomotive fuel tax, raising it from 1.5 cents/litre to 5.5 cents, effective November 1, 2015. Interesting how this “insignificant” factoid was grossly ignored by the PSM.

But this is 2016. Canada becomes a Third World Economy, led by self-centred, self-righteous, morally superior dictators, over a Nation of obedient, guilt-ridden, naive sheep.

I’ve always had an image of a journalist being a hard nosed type, willing to go where the story takes them and not afraid of a fight, not some fawning weakling beholden to the party line.
Thanks for restoring my faith.

Everybody in the entire world except for some Albertans who have their heads stuck in the sand (and those that are being paid to deny it by big oil) believe that humans are contributing to global warming. But we also know that we are a long way from not using oil so I am certain that your precious pipeline will get built (it is beneficial for the country and much safer than rail)and you can dream up some other imaginary thing to direct your hate towards. The only reason the rest of the country has their back up is because Harper was such an asshole about it.

If the previous government didn’t get it done in time it was due to the NGO’s who did everything in their power to get their Plastic Politicians elected. Case in point-Justin & Catherine. We promise to power our country with hope and change and pixie dust. Reality deniers

2006: Al Gore, the world will end from global warming in 10 years, net worth 20M

2016: Al Gore, the world continues and global warming (climate change) is irrelevant,

Understand the game now Canada?

And this is what Trudeau will be doing to Canada the name of climate change – getting richer.

You know when a lieberal (communist) is lieing When she/he/it opens their mouths the cancelled pipelines have already had environmental studies and were approved. All she said was bull shit and you know it. Lets save the world’s life produce more carbon, without carbon we have no plants if we have no plants, we have no animals if we have no animals who will dig our graves.

“Sustainable Way” is such a catch phrase with no meaning in the world. When you take minerals out of the earth it will deplete these minerals in that location. It is never sustainable. In other words, it is impossible;e to have any mining operation which is sustainable in the longer term, that is why we have Ghost Towns.

How cute the Liberal party of Canada thinks their a legitimate political party. In reality their a mafia party of criminals posing as politicians. Multi-billion dollar scandal coming at the expense of Canadians very soon. The theft of 250 million was chump change.
commented 2016-01-28 14:24:00 -0500
This bitchy Catherine McKenna spews in circles – PM Butts is going to shut down the oil industry and with it, the primary source of Canadian tax revenue.

This means that provincial governments will default as the global economy goes into a deflationary depression.

And the best part is that Canadian voters chose these douche bag liberals and in return get economic suicide for policy.

Watch Canada starve.

Foreign funded NGO’s and Environmental lobbyists, wanted the pipeline projects dead and expressed a lack of confidence in any system that could possibly give a thumbs up to any petroleum extraction project.. I don’t recall anyone on the street wanting them dead. Built to state of the art tech sure, but not dead. First Nation concerns were corrupted by the millions of dollars that they received in order to fight against the projects rather than evaluate it on their merits. Its a shame how this Minister can just lie like that in front of the Nation.

She is a Liberal, that should explain everything. This Dhimmi should have been asked to prove, beyond all doubt that Global Warming is caused by human activities. The truth is that she would be unable to do this because it is all untrue.

The fact that average global temperatures have been on the decline since 2014, proves that she dose not know what she is talking about.
