WATCH: Christmas in Israel -- Christians celebrate in Haifa and Nazareth

Igal HechtIsrael Correspondent

While billions of people around the world joyously celebrate the birth of Jesus, Christmas time in the Middle East can often be a sad and tragic time.

In most Muslim majority countries, Christians continue to suffer severe persecution causing many to flee or remain and suffer a living hell on earth.

Yet, not all hope is lost for Christians in the Middle East because there is one country where Christians have complete freedom and where Christmas is always celebrated, and that country is Israel.

The Rebel Media recently visited Haifa and Nazareth to see how Christians will be celebrating Christmas this year.

Yet… Israel IS the only tolerant country on the region, and, Zulu, Israel will never come to an end. God guarantees that. Deborah Graupner said it best.
What I said was their religious freedom will come to an end – not the country.

The violence that is coming from evil islam will make it difficult for Jews and Christians – islam will eventually grow in the resident population to the point that there will be a war within the country. It will have to be that way as there will never be peace between the Jews and the islamics – the islamics simply do not want that peace – they only want the Jews dead.

To conquer Israel all the islamic neighbours have to do is pull the same trick as the arabs did to Europe – start walking.

I told this to a General in the IDF many years ago and he did not believe me.

I bet if he remembers that conversation today he might have a different thought on his answer.

The only way to stop 250 million arabs from taking over is to shoot every one as they cross the border. Every man, woman and child – as they will all come at once.

I hope the Jews have enough bullets. Someday it will happen if iran does not attempt to nuke them first. And that is a far more distinct possibility than most realize – you can thank hussein obama the evil US of A president for that one.

Appeasement and food and shelter and medicine simply brings more.

Witch merkel proved that.

As Eurabia goes – so could the country of Israel if they do not take care.

I was disappointed in this video. It seems that the whole country of Israel is awash in Santa Claus and Christmas trees. Neither have anything to do with Christmas. In fact, they are both pagan symbols which help cover up and destroy the message of Christ. Santa, by the way, is nothing but ‘Satan" with the n moved to the end. And trees are a medieval invention with no basis whatsoever in the message of Christ. CHRISTmas is Christ, and that’s a person! How about a Cross instead of a stupid tree?

Yet… Israel IS the only tolerant country on the region, and, Zulu, Israel will never come to an end. God guarantees that. Deborah Graupner said it best.

I always hope for the best but plan for the worst! I know the Lord backs those who tell and live by the truth, so I believe that we are already winners!

Poor Israel. Cast to the hyenas by yellow dogs. The only thing that might save it is that the hyenas are now attacking the yellow dogs too.

Thanks DEBORAH. I hope you’re right….but I tend to side with BRAVO ZULU.

I’m out of here for a few days. Merry Christmas to all…lefty tits included.

Isreal should never have given up the West Bank to the Palestinians. They never appreciated it and now that Hamas has taken control of the government there they will always be a threat to Isreal. It’s a shame that Christians cannot celebrate Christmas in Bethlahem which is the birth place of Jesus.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! I pray that the peace that passes all understanding will be yours today, and everyday. God bless Israel and all of the Christians in the world. I believe that the time of the great harvest of souls for Jesus has arrived. Let your light shine, and hopefully more people will turn to the Lord and be saved from hell and damnation.

@ Bravo Zulu
I believe God gives us Christians for different seasons. We have been in many seasons where there have been many Christians to teach and too speak His word. Now we are moving into a season when the world will need many Christians to be the defender and the sword. I take no pleasure in the notion of physical battle, but if I must then so be it.

@ Andy – you are correct – however I am a steel and lead guy at heart – essentially I believe that in the end it will come to that.

Winner take all.

Those folks talking about the Syrian refugees – well all the Christians are pretty much dead – and the western backed FSA is one of the major culprits – wait until it is all over – if and when they win it will be handed over to the isis crowd.

The FSA is only our friend until we stop the flow of ammunition, weapons, training and cash.

The slaughter in Syria will be biblical in proportion.

Time to limber up the 30 cal and get it ready because the Christians will be in serious trouble.

Egypt – another example – I work with a Coptic Christian – his family sent him and his brother and sister here 40 years ago. Not one – I repeat – not one of his family that stayed in Egypt is alive today.

Want to see religious freedom?

Visit Israel – they have it – but it will come to an end as the islamic population grows and violence increases.

@bravo Zulu

I totally agree with you about Christians (and Jews) preparing themselves for ramped up persecutions in areas with large minorities of devout Muslims. So I looked up the lyrics to Onward Christian Soldier and found that they don’t actually speak about battle in the traditional sense at all but rather about doing battle in the spiritual and ideological arena which reminded me of this passage from the book of Ephesians 6:10-12

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

In truth I see this mindset as the necessary foundation upon which Christians are to defend themselves against evil. That is not to say that we ought not to take up arms against those who would murder and enslave, but that we should recognize the underlying spiritual motivations that inspire their barbarism and seek to liberate them from doctrines of demons whenever possible through the liberal use of truth and love (even for enemies). That is not to say there is no place for steel and lead when the situation warrants but that the Christian must always prefer to see the sinner turn from the error of his ways to the only true God and find that the way of reconciliation (through Jesus Christ) remains open to all who are willing to follow him as Lord.

It is with sadness and joy that I write this. Sadness at the persecution of Christians around the world especially today the ones in the middle east who are taking the brunt of the persecution now. What is really sad too is what is happening in our country of Canada. It is to be expected because Jesus said we would be persecuted for His names sake in the latter days. And I believe we are in the latter days. But we have reason for great joy. Jesus came to save us and offer us eternal life. We have reason to celebrate especially as we honour His birthday. With that joy in our hearts we can overcome the disappointments of today and the dark days of the future. Jesus will not abandon us. He is coming back for us to save us from this world. In the end we will win. Billy Graham once said ,”we are going to win. I read the end of the book.”

This is the time of year for gift giving. To those who do not believe listen to that small quiet voice inside you. Jesus is offering His free gift of freedom from sin and eternal life right now.

On this holiest of nights I wish everyone a blessed and happy Christmas and a New Year filled with hope and good cheer.

God bless and keep Israel.
It blows my mind to think that the Son of God actually lived and died on earth in that land.
I sure want to go there someday!
Merry Christmas everybody

@ Bruce Kirk

I wish Christians would re-learn the words to “Onward Christian Soldiers” – we are going to need them in Eurabia – and very soon I think.

Yes sir Marty…….Merry Merry Christmas to to every one!!!
May we all have hope for the New Year that the socialists, progressives et all do not destroy this great country. Peace!!

The prophetic nature of Jesus own words and how relevant the words he spoke 2000+ years ago are in today’s world. Persecution of Christians will get even worse in the days ahead and Churches will be increasingly attacked. Christians have knowledge to withstand the hate of the world, John 15;18. Christians do not need a building to worship our Lord, Mathew 18;20. Christians have strength beyond the fear of today, 1John 4;4. The worse the world becomes the greater Christians joy, Luke 21;28.
May the true joy, hope and gift of Jesus come to everyone this Christmas season!

Meanwhile back in Canada, it is politically incorrect to say Happy Christmas or to wear a Cross that can be seen by others. Our progressive thinking governments do not wish us to insult our new Muslim friends but it is OK for our new Muslim friends to prostrate themselves in the street, stopping traffic. Whatever happened to equality?

to bad the CBC and CTV and the liberals don’t watch this. IT might change their tune but then maybe not

I spent about 2 years in Israel and there was always a small Christmas in Tiberias as well. The Jews used to come by and say Merry Christmas to us as we handed them some of our traditional foods. We nevr had anyone complain about the carols that we had playing over the sound system.

Interesting – when I think about it the Jews used to smile and chat with us for long periods of time – I made some good friends by meeting them on Christmas Day beside the water.

Not one of them ever got PO’d or threatened us and the police never threatened to shut us down.

Mind you – unlike the islamics – when we left the area you did not have to call in a platoon of garbage pickers – we left the area cleaner than when we arrived – we were not pigs.

Perhaps that “horrible” country could give a few lessons to Toronto???

I must go back there some day and see if they are still doing that celebration – it was always a highlight of the westerners who lived in that city on the Sea of Galilee
