WATCH: Jordan Peterson with updates on Lindsay Shepherd's legal battle — and his own

Rebel Staff

Persecuted Laurier University graduate student Lindsay Shepherd is now suing the university over her treatment.

In a new video, Dr. Jordan Peterson reads Lindsay's statement of claim, and writes:

I'm sure many of you remember Lindsay Shepherd, the teaching assistant at Wilfred Laurier University who was subjected to an unwarranted inquisition after showing a video of me debating Nicholas Matte about Bill C16.

In her statement of claim (which I read in its totality in this video), Shepherd notes that her mistreatment continued unabated at Wilfred Laurier, despite the university's hypothetical apology and offer to mend its ways. She also claimed that she has been rendered unemployable as an academic (a claim I believe, having served on many university search committees, and knowing full well that any whiff of scandal is enough to disquality a candidate entirely).

I talked to her lawyer after reading her claim, and decided that I would also pursue Wilfred Laurier and the professors and administrators directly responsible for this debacle.

I am not convinced that Wilfred Laurier learned what needed to be learned even after being dragged through the national and international press, in what was the biggest scandal that ever hit a Canadian university.

Maybe two lawsuits will help rectify that. We'll see.

NOTE: The allegations in these statements of claim are simply that, at this stage. They have not been tested in a court of law, and cannot therefore be considered proved.

I sincerely hope that she & Peterson both win.

I would be even more pleased if the verdict bankrupts the University and the professors lose their Tenure….

Send the message this PC Bull$@*t has gone way to far!!!!

I don’t see what is so special about Jordan Peterson.

Most people would be embarrassed to admit that. But its OK. He is for people who think.

Of course this was harassment! These little jerks are on a power trip and enjoy intimidating younger people, in this case a young woman. People like these ‘blanks’ wouldn’t survive in the real world. They live in an isolated and cloistered environment based on unrealistic views and made up rules.
Steve Paikin must have a better understanding of and appreciation for being targeted unfairly and deceitfully.
Let’s hope the right judge will hear this case and something will finally happen to change the sub-culture that is growing in our schools and universities.
Thanks Prof. Peterson. You are a warrior.

I think 12 rules for life goes over a lot of peoples heads for such a simple concept. Not the book’s fault, but you can’t reach everybody.

Liza, your advice to our resident CINO is good. I would add, read Dr. Peterson’s latest book, The Twelve Rules of Life. It actually might help her to be more cogent and balanced!

Dana Moore, That would be awesome, but I doubt even our conservative politicians would have the courage to do such a thing provincially. I would so love to be wrong.

I understand that there are several states ( Ky, Az, Louisana etc.)that have signed a “Free Speech Bill” into law to protect student expression at public college campuses. Why can we not do the same up here in Canada provincially, since our schools are run by the province.

You have two choices Space Moose. Make an effort to out what you are missing or don’t worry yourself about it and move on to something else.

Watched the video of Peterson on Bill Mahr, he asked the other guests and Mahr a question and they failed to answer and proceeded to act like he said they would. It was quite comical.

Just imagine if Lindsay hadn’t recorded her inquisition. This recording proves her claims, and I hope that she doesn’t agree to a settlement, so that everything is exposed. And Jordan Peterson’s claims also hinge on Lindsay’s recording. I am concerned about the Judge though, because we all know that our legal system has been infected with the same virus as the universities. It is imperative that the battle is fought and won for all those who are being silenced by the system! And who better to fight the fight than these two wonderful personalities. I wish we had more like them!

Liza. I hope you’re right, about more students and their parent suing the universities. I’ve been wondering for some time why it hasn’t happened already, but this situation may prompt others to pursue same. In fact, I’d love to see them get sued by both sides. The only position they could take then, is that uni’s are free for all’s for free expression – just as they should be!

I know these two lawsuit’s are about damage to the character’s and careers of two individuals, Shepherd and Peterson, but I want the bullies at Wilfred Laurier , all universities, school boards and politicians, to pause and take note.

We don’t send our kids to educational institutions to be indoctrinated with post truth theories, from the barrel of the proverbial gun, by politically motivated power freak/social engineer’s. Payment for this forced social experiment must stop, and any damage done must be paid FOR.

I expect there to be lawsuits from parents and students alike down the road, who feel they have been harmed by some of these academics and politicians performing and implementing this social experimentation on society. I may send my grand children to law school.

It would be irresponsible to let this opportunity go by without making the most of it. These academics at Wilfred Laurier (and other universities in Canada) are used to getting away with forcing any ridiculous theory on our kids as objective truth. They exist in a sheltered environment in which they espouse a view of reality that the rest of the world does not share or live in. They are never questioned in their academic space, and they have become omnipotent.

I was so pleased to hear that Lindsey had filed a law suit for the abuse she has had to endure, and more than ecstatic that Peterson has decided to follow suit. Push back is in order. Lindsey’s career in academia has been damaged and Peterson has been defamed.

Dr. Jordan Peterson’s lawsuit has merit, and, I wish him every success in court. The recording of Shepherd’s malicious inquisition is very compelling evidence in both cases. The judge will hear for him/herself how this Sir Wilfred Laurier panel conducted themselves during their Star Chamber interrogation, and, the defamatory and false statements toward Peterson right from the horse’s mouth so to speak.

Both lawsuits are exactly what Rambukkanan, Pimlott, Joel and Wilfred Laurier U should be facing, their actions have been reprehensible throughout this whole ordeal.
