I was in Little Havana, a Cuban enclave in Miami Florida, to see first-hand how Cubans were reacting to the death of Fidel Castro, dictator who turned Cuba into a miserable third-world country.
I also wanted to find out what they thought of Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and his strange and off-putting statement on the death of Fidel Castro.
Trudeau cares more about his family’s legacy in Cuba, and his father’s chummy relationships with one of history’s most evil and oppressive villains.
Castro’s death is a symbolic moment in history, and Cuban people are celebrating because they hope it will lead their country towards greater freedom and opportunities.
In order for Cuba to open up and embrace liberty and freedom, they’ll need the support of the international community and leaders like Justin Trudeau.
It’s time for Trudeau to give his head a shake, and champion the rights of the people, not the legacy of their oppressor.
