A new video has surfaced of a Montreal jewelry store employee defending the store by throwing acid into the face of a robber who wielded a pistol.
According to the Montreal Gazette, in 2013, Richardson François and his accomplice Jerry Theodore walked into store with the intention to rob it, but the owner of the store, Vijay Verma, and his relatives fought back.
At one point, one of Verma’s relatives picked up a tray full of nitric acid, which is used to clean jewelry, and tossed it into the faces of François and Theodore.
The acid left lifelong scars on their faces and François lost 50 per cent of his vision in one of his eyes.
On Monday the video was released to the media because it became public information once it was placed into evidence.
