Congressional Democrat candidate Daniel Helmer may not make it out of the danger zone — let alone lift off — after a brutal Top Gun-style campaign ad.
The ad, called "Helmer Zone," is done as a parody of the cheesy 1986 movie. Helmer, doing his best (worst?) "Maverick" impersonation, takes on an actress playing his opponent Barbara Comstock.
He then launches into a song where he voices support for abortion and Obamacare while attacking Comstock for appealing to right-wing voters.
So far the video has 1000 upvotes and 2000 downvotes on YouTube. Perhaps people don't agree with Helmer, who says on his campaign website that “patriotism is progressive.”
What do you think? Is this the worst campaign ad you've ever seen?
